We stopped in on a busy weekend in North Wildwood - I had never eaten here before but was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the service was amazing! They have a new chef and updated menu. We had a lobster roll which was ok, chicken Parmesan sandwich which was tasty and substantial and shrimp tacos that looked good although the accompanying tortilla chips were stale. 4.5 stars. Came here for Restaurant Week. We were seated immediately and given a nice outdoor table with a good view of the seawall and the street. We went with the Prix Fixe meal and got: sesame ahi tuna, coconut shrimp, baby back ribs, clam linguini, creme brulee, and flourless chocolate torte. Everything tasted amazing and the entrees came in huge portions! One weird thing about my baby back ribs is that they ran out of all the sides except for fries and mashed potatoes. So having two potato dishes as my sides was a little odd but not a deal breaker by any means. The whole meal was incredible. The baby back ribs were definitely the best part of the meal. The ribs were so tender and slipped right off the bone. Flip Flopz also seems to have a pretty extensive drink list. Their frozen drinks sounded pretty good and they can be made without alcohol. So I started with a Dirty Banana which was amazing. It was so good that I decided to try another frozen drink which was their Strawberry Daiquiri which definitely hit the spot on that warm day. It seems like a pretty fun place to be. They seem to have karaoke, a large dance floor and a swimming pool on the roof! It's only $10 to swim there and they have a bar up there too. The only issue we really had with the service is that there was a very long delay between our entrees and dessert. It was somewhere between 30-45 minutes. We almost jumped ship but luckily it came right before we did. Other than the long delay between dinner and dessert, we were very satisfied with the meal and the restaurant. What has happened to Flip Flopz? I constantly hear the negatively and grumbling on the Island how Flip or Flopz has taken a step backwards.. Well , I agree and let me provide you a first hand account how 2 local couples were treated this past weekend. Tommy Conwell was playing and we were excited to visit Flip Flopz . We walked into a near empty bar. We ordered 4 drinks to a grumpy and couldn't care less female bartender as we placed about $100 dollars on the bar for drinks. Note.. the martini was served in a plastic cup !!! Ugh. No wonder why it's empty ! Tommy Conwell was rocking and playing great cover band music . We threw another $20 on the bar and headed to the dance floor only to come back to the bar to find our drinks and cash gone! The dance floor is next to the bar. We didn't go far. We didn't leave ! The Bartender and male working with her basically stole our money ! We tried to reason and get our money but they couldn't care less. We patronize all the establishments and this has never happened to any of us ! Hopefully , we can get this rectified.. read more

Our server Margie was beyond outstanding. From her greetings to her farewell and everything in between. She made sure we had a wonderful dinner. Our time spent there was fun and everything from soup to nuts was amazing. The drinks she recommended were perfect and fitting for each person in our party to their particular taste. Last summer, my sister and I ordered the Flip Flopz Beach Fries (topped with cheese, old bay, crab meat, scallions, and hot sauce).I can't even begin to express how excited we were to come to the island and make this a pit stop on our mini vacation. These fries are unbelievable. For the price, you are LOADED with crab meat and I guarantee you will need to bring the rest home. You can also tell by the bright colors and furniture the restaurant is so updated and just gives a fresh feel. It is also very clean. Dining at the restaurant really makes you feel like you are at an all inclusive resort. Our server was very helpful. The food also came out quick and warm. The menu has a variety of foods people of all ages can enjoy. I am hoping to attend one of the nights there is a band because I have heard from my friends how fun those nights are. read more

I love flip flopz, the waitstaff and barstaff are so sweet and kind. I love being able to enjoy burgers, sandwiches, or even entrees. The fish tacos are my absolute favorite and my husband could eat their cheesesteaks everyday! The pool bar is so much fun! DJ and drinks at the pool looking over the beach. You cannot beat the view. I came here with my g/f and her fiancé during a day we were hanging out in the beach with the kids. My g/f ventures to Wildwood every summer with her family and has occasionally invited us out to stay with them for a weekend. We were starved this particular day, so we went for a walk to grab some food and drinks. We came across Flip Flopz and decided to eat at the bar to hopefully just eat quickly and head back to the beach. Jim, the bartender, was very attentive. He made sure we were taken care of. I went to Flip Flopz for lunch on a Saturday, it was very easy to be seated, we sat downstairs by the patio. It felt very open and airy. The service was great, and had a lot of options for where to sit. I had the Cesar wrap with beans and onion rings, and my partner and I split some fries and jalapeño poppers. Portions were good on the bigger side, my wrap was a little underwhelming, I wish I could say the dressing was good because that's what usually makes it but it was fine and I didn't get meat so I can't comment on that. The jalapeño poppers were great, and so were the onion rings and fries, crispy and great sauces. My friend and I stopped by on a non-busy Thursday afternoon. We were seated fairly quickly and our server came over pretty quickly. After we got our food, service was non existent. I waited about 10 minutes for a refill, calling our server twice as she passed by the table and eventually went over to her at the merchandise area with my cup and asked her for a refill. Same thing with the check. The other girl we asked was on the phone and told us "I can't help you" and went back to her conversation. The one good thing I can say is drinks were cheap! Came here with my family on a little vacation. The outside was beautiful with the decor and over look of the ocean. It was so cool having the pool on the deck, but it was cold and looked like alcohol had been spilled in the water. The kids ordered their waters there were little friends in it. There had been many bugs/gnats both floating and sinking in their waters. There was also long hairs in two of the drinks. The food was pretty good except for a couple flaws. My niece told me the chicken tasted like rubber, I'm sensing it wasn't cooked all the way. The fries were soggy, and the nacho cheese was just gross. We came down this past weekend for the Irish Festival, out first time attending. We spent a little time here in friday and enjoyed our time, it wasn't until sunday we had an awful experience. We had came over to get a good spot for the parade and some drinks, we eventually were going to order food. We came over about 10:45/11am. Went upstairs, had an amazing view of the end of the parade route and the pool area. No servers were working just yet, they came on about 10 mins or so after we arrived. She was unfriendly the 1 time she did come over. My husband ordered another drink for the 2 of us and she asked if we wanted to start a tab or pay then, my husband told her that we had a tab open from when we got drinks at the bar, she got very snippy and said that's different from tables, I'll have to transfer it. She was so rude & after she brought our drinks she never came back over. However the table near us she went to several times. We couldn't even get her attention!! We went to Flip Flopz for dinner. There were six of us. Their new menu is off the hook. Our server Margie was sweet, very friendly, fast and very professional. When our dinners came, we were amazed. The scallop ceviche was delicious. My cousin's chicken Parm was huge and he said it was one of the best chicken Parm's he's ever had. The rest of us got items from their seafood special list and all of us agreed that it was one of the best meals we've ever had. We were so happy with our experience that we decided to make this our new spot. That is until we went back later that night. We felt like we stepped into the twilight zone. All friendliness and good service was gone. We were very disappointed to see how the owner treats his staff. He introduced himself at the door, where he was sitting on a barstool smoking in the entryway, which we thought was kind of weird and unprofessional. We watched him interacting with a bartender, and he was so disrespectful, rude and demeaning. When the rest of our party arrived for drinks, the owner then gave them a hard time at the door, and was extremely rude to them. We were extremely disappointed in the way he treated not only his staff, but customers as well. We would like to come back to try more items on the new dinner menu. But this will not be one of our drinking/dancing spots based on the aggressive and angry demeanor of the owner. How can you own and run a restaurant/nightclub and treat your staff and customers so horribly? You would think this man would want to be friendly and accommodating to customers spending a lot of money in his place of business. Instead, he was very rude, and proceeded to walk around the bar, giving us a dirty looks the entire time we were there. He made us very uncomfortable and my 24-year-old daughter felt extremely uneasy as he had made an advance towards her, telling her a dirty joke. My husband did not appreciate this as the owner looks about 65 and our daughter just turned 24. Maybe he was just having a bad night and we are willing to give Flip Flopz another try for dinner. But we are still on the fence about how we feel spending our money there knowing that the owner is such a jerk. I feel terribly for the staff, as everyone else that we had interactions with were so friendly and fun. Another observation was that the place was not very busy compared to all the other bars on the street. You would think he would be doing anything he could to make people feel comfortable and happy. Our experience during the later evening hours was so disappointing that we only had two drinks and headed to another bar. So my review for the food gets a 10. Dinner service was at 10. Owner and his son were at the door checking IDs and couldn't tell a real from a fake. It was recommended that we go to Tiki Topz - the pool bar that is above Flip Flopz. We packed up our suits and towels and headed over hoping for an afternoon filled with pool side libations and light munchies. Unfortunately, there was a $5.00 cover to get into the pool which was overcrowded and cloudy (ehhhh..). Considering that we were staying in a condo that had a private pool I suggested we eat downstairs at Flip Flopz. We went for lunch and the place was dead quiet.....but you can tell that this place is hopping at night. Four huge bars in one room....a barfly's paradise. There was also a stage, dance floor and separate dining area......this place felt like it took up multiple city blocks. Standard lunch menu: appetizers, salads, soups, and sandwiches all of which where priced accordingly. Every bar was fulled stocked with multiple beer taps and any type of liquor that you could possibly want. I would recommend to give this place a try if you are visiting North Wildwood during the evening hours....I get the feeling it could be a good time! read more
