Just had them now and they were expensive, microwaved, no hint of beef that was ordered, and basically a bowl of chips. $25 later, I couldn't even get a second beer cause I was so disappointed. First time going here. We went on a friday night and they have a dj after 8pm. Its not club dj vibe people were louder than the music. I ordered the clam chowder soup and potato skins. I went with friends for his birthday we celebrated it in cape may. We sang happy birthday they gave him a scoop of ice cream with a candle on it. We had lunch this past weekend and it was very nice. A few key details. One, the background music was delightfully low and even though the place was full, it wasn't crazy loud. It was festive. We started with the popcorn shrimp, which was great, then I had the sliders and my wife had the wings. Everything was fine. My complaint is that they charge you 3% for using a credit card. This is appalling. No one carries cash anymore. Everyone uses a credit card. This means they're just passing along their cost of doing business to their customers. Why not charge for washing your plate, or keeping the beer cold? This is not a convenience you're providing. read more

I tired this place last season and was not a fan. I heard amazing things so wanted to give it another try before I posted my review. I tried again today and I'm $135 upset. What a waste Calamari was amazing Flat bread pizza tasty Nachos disgusting. Chips were stale and the Chicken was some creamy shredded mush. I love nachos but couldn't eat more than 1 bite. Dogtooth has been one of our favorites for many years at this point. We've done birthday and other celebration dinners here every year. We've always recommended them to anyone who asks. But the last few visits have been mediocre at best and it's been 2-3 months since we last went, when we used to go 2-3x a month all year long. First, the prices have gotten to be borderline ridiculous while the serving sizes have shrunk. The last time we went, two appetizers, 1 side of fries, and a soda cost us almost $50 before the tip. Some of the pricing also makes little sense to me. For instance: $24 for a Chicken Cesar Salad is insane when the Buffalo Chop Chop is only $19. Also, the service and atmosphere just isn't what it used to be even last year. The waitstaff is nice enough, but the need to squeeze so many tables and chairs in the space is crazy. The last time we went, our chairs were touching the chairs from the table beside us. Neither of us could scoot in any further, the tables are just very close together. You can barely walk between some of the tables. read more

This is a good American bar on the island to go to dinner. It is a bit dark inside, but is decorated in a very fun tropical way. We love the cheesesteaks, the fries, and the volcano shrimp. The ladder has amazing sauce and is always cooked perfectly. The service has been on and off for us, hence the 4 stars. Back again, for our traditional lunch on our first convention day. Pat and I both opted for the Cheesesteak with fries and a side of Onion Rings. The Dog Tooth is a great place to relax and unwind - far enough from the boardwalk and convention hall so as not to be too crowded. As noted in an earlier review, the Dog Tooth is more crowded in the evening and offers live entertainment on some nights. Our lunch also included a souple of Fiddlehead beers - the beer selection is not bad at all. Barbara was our server, and she was pleasant and attentive to our needs. After driving 5 hours in traffic, I wanted to eat well. I never been here before, but the food sounded good with lobster rolls and raw oysters. This was a family styled restaurant with a bar, tropical and blue. The place was clean and the staff was friendly. Prices were reasonable, except for the fries substitution. I ordered a lobster roll and was surprised and thankful for the lobster portion. It was 2 sandwiches basically, no skimping on lobster. The only complaint I have with the lobster roll is that it only came with chips. To get fries, it would be an upcharge, which I do not agree with. I would still order this again without a doubt. Other restaurants would skimp on lobster since it's a premium already. The calamari was large. I was thankful again for the proportions. I would ask for extra sauces for this. The yellow sauce was very creamy, to the point where I preferred the cocktail sauce instead, or switch in between. The oysters tasted fresh and clean. The size was perfect for its price. This is a good restaurant to go to for seafood. It is close to the boardwalk and the service was exceptional. read more

Overall the food was very expensive for essentially good bar food but you're in Wildwood and that seems to be the rule. Wings were ordered extra crispy but they were definitely not crispy. The flavor of the sauce was fantastic and the wing size was good. The spicy burger was said to be the best she ever had! Arugula flatbread had amazing flavor. Terrible experience all around. Very, very overpriced and the portions are ridiculously small definitely a tourist trap type situation on top of that. My wife ordered Kobe sliders and they were served raw. That's correct RAW!!-- so a manager comes over to me after 20 minutes and says we're sorry that we didn't give you your burgers at your desired temperature acting like we ordered them medium and they came well Done -I reminded her three times you served them raw, which is unedible and unhealthy. Definitely was not apologetic ,i ordered a chicken Caesar salad $23, order the chicken cheesesteak for $17. The roll was half empty ordered nacho supreme for $17 a shallow plate with enough food for a 10-year-old-- there are many more places in the immediate area that give you fair prices and larger portions read more

My boyfriend & I chose to have our anniversary dinner here after reading some really good reviews. I called ahead to see if any crab legs were available because online it says it's seasonal. Unfortunately they do not but we decided to go anyway. They also don't take reservations, It's first come first serve which is fine but it got busy fast that night. There was even a line outside the door when we were leaving. We started with the chicken skewers which were a little cold but they were on top of a cold asian salad which was good so it's okay. Boyfriend got the cajun chicken tortellini which was a way bigger portion than we thought, good for the price, but it wasn't our favorite, the chicken was bland and kind of dry. I had a server help me choose my meal and I got the crab mac & cheese which I was happy with. But me & my boyfriend's favorite part of dinner was our side salads that came with our meals... Our service was great & our table was cleared every time staff walked by which was nice. There are a lot of cocktails to choose from, I got a spritz which tasted like just a glass of prosecco but I like that too so it's okay! The lemon drop martini was a little thick too. Wasn't the perfect dinner but still had a good time. I didn't tell our server about any of these complaints because it is NOT her fault I think we just happened to get there during a rush. read more

Dogtooth is one of my favorite restaurants in Wildwood. I've been here many times in the past and it hasn't disappointed me so far. One thing I love about this place is that the portion sizes are very generous. So much that the appetizers alone are big enough to be meals on their own. In fact, the last time I came, one of our party ordered two appetizers to eat for dinner. The Green Bean Fries were awesome, they were crunchy and had a nice dipping sauce to it. We were initially a little skeptical of the wings because it was listed as "market price" on their menu which we found out was $22 for 12 wings as of this writing. When we got them, they were huge and cooked perfectly. They were juicy and the buffalo sauce was so good. Well worth the price! The Cabo Tacos were seasoned well with good veggies to go with it. My favorite dish by far is the Volcano Shrimp. It's an appetizer but it's good enough to be an entree. I order it every single time I dine in here. The shrimp is deep fried and smothered in sweet/spicy sauce similar to General Tso's Chicken. It's such a good serving, it felt like a never ending whirlpool of deep fried delicious shrimp. There's so much that no matter how many people I bring, there's always some leftover! The only thing issue I've ever had with Dogtooth is that service can be hit or miss, especially during the summertime. More often than not, there's usually a long wait plugged in somewhere. Whether it's to get seated, get your food, or get the check. Despite that, I would still highly recommend coming here. However, the food is definitely worth the wait time. I've always left Dogtooth full and satisfied without fail every single time. read more

Popular with locals, it is now also popular with us because we loved it! Leashed dogs are allowed at their covered outdoor seating all year round and there is even a TV to watch the game out there! In the winter they have heaters to keep the area extra toasty. There is also an uncovered outdoor patio area. The mahi mahi tacos and beyond burger were tasty and there is a nice cocktail list and a good craft beer selection, including a couple of local choices. I had a very disappointing experience at the dogtooth. I ordered 2 avocado wraps, arugula salad with chicken, and A turkey sandwich with sweet potato fries. The food was mediocre at best, and all four of us agreed that there was no flavor to anything. it was just really boring. My husband said the sweet potato fries had no flavor to them whatsoever. They weren't even crisp. The drinks were ridiculously priced, and you could get one in a souvenir cup for $15! This establishment it's not high-end enough to charge this price for a drink. Better restaurants were serving drinks for $12 and they were fantastic! If I'm going to pay $15 for a cocktail, the food accompanying it needs to be excellent. this is definitely not the case here. We were sitting outside and looked around. Nobody had any mixed drinks at any table. Just beer. There's a reason why. Our waitress did not pay attention. Two of us were still eating and she asked if we wanted anything else. She put the check down and we hadn't even finished our meals. Maybe we wanted dessert! Maybe we wanted to sit for a minute or two and digest and figure it out. Overall, very disappointing and will definitely not be back. read more
