Upon breaching the surface, I came to the back of the boat where the Dive Master was ready as he saw me coming.

This is the best dive center in the whole panhandle, primarily because of their excellent boat…read moredives. Their store is well stocked with all the usual and necessary gear, and you can rent everything here from snorkelling and paddle boarding equipment through dive computers, but what really makes this place stand out is their boat dives. They have three large (one is huge) boats at a nearby marina that boast fresh water and AC, and every day they visit the best dive sites in the region. Most dives are "inshore" dives that max out around 80 or 90 feet, but you can request "offshore" dives that take a good bit longer but max out at around 120' and offer clearer dives and usually more marine life. There's rarely been a dive I've done here in more than 100 dives that hasn't been great. Both rentals and dives are very fairly priced. For $150ish you can get a full equipment rental plus two fantastic boat dives. The staff are fantastic. Super helpful at fitting gear, helping you plan self guided dives, and doing all they can to help.

Dived here this weekend through a group. I wasn't impressed honestly. We had to pick up, transport,…read moreand drop of tanks before and after diving. I have neck and should injuries so this was not good for me. The first day we walked in, it seemed like Joe had an attitude towards us and couldn't be bothered. I needed help with a tool to open my dive computer because I left it at home. They were no help. Finding the boat was easy. It's over in Captain Anderson's Marina area. The first day, the crew didn't even lift a finger to help but then were asking for tips.... Crazy. I don't know if they heard me complain or what, but the 2nd day they were way more helpful. Yes, it's a service industry. But I paid for the charter. If you aren't going to help me with anything I'm not tipping you. There are too many great dive shops where the crew helps with tanks and getting you situated, etc. if it wasn't for the 2nd day, they would have gotten one star. The 2nd day a nice younger dive master came up and asked us if we needed help and lord Jesus I was so grateful for him. I wish I caught his name to give him a shoutout. Sadly, he wasn't on our boat.

I had the pleasure of doing 4 SCUBA dives with Daly's Dock and Dive Center in Port Saint Joe…read morerecently as part of an underwater archaeology training course. From the moment I walked in the shop, I was impressed. Ann Marie was the first to greet our group, and she was so friendly and helpful. She and her husband Ed are clearly passionate about providing exemplary service. Their selection of merchandise is great, and they had an excellent sale on wetsuits that I couldn't resist. There are beautiful kitties in the shop, and the owners work tirelessly to save feral cats and to get them fixed and vaccinated to help reduce the population of unwanted cats in this rural county. I truly admire their compassionate hearts! I am also a SCUBA diving instructor, and I'm always looking for great shops like Daly's. The owners and crew went above and beyond to make sure our experience was stellar. Daly's is also very safe...we waited for a storm to clear before doing the afternoon dives. Setting up gear is a bit different here...you set up in the back parking lot before loading on the boat, then you walk across the street to meet the boat. Though everyone there was excellent, we mainly interacted with Gabbi and Michelle who we absolutely loved! Michelle is a great boat captain and put us right on the Vamar. Due to our large group, they contracted with another boat captain named Mike who was very experienced and kind. I had left a sea urchin shell on his boat, and he took the time to come back to the shop to return it to me. Also, I get cold easily, and between dives, Ann Marie brought us awesome boat coats we borrowed to keep warm! Customer service could not have been better. I had not been to Port Saint Joe in several years, and I was blown away at what a hip, trendy town it has become. There are many wonderful restaurants and attractions (including the lighthouse) within walking distance of the dive shop. Our group took full advantage of the prime location and dined, shopped, and did some sightseeing after our excellent experience with Daly's Dock and Dive Center. I highly recommend this shop and will definitely return!
