3x billed for the power inflator. I only got one inflator. I did receive a full refund, but only after I caught it hours later.

I do not trust this shop, also double check your invoices (see image attached)! I serviced my regulator and BCD here, and found an O ring in my main regulator damaged once I got in the water. The equipment was working perfectly previous to being serviced. In addition I was charged 3 times on my invoices for the same bcd inflator valve part, and had to call in to be refunded. My partner bought a bundle of equipment as well, and the clerk did not put his owd course dvd we paid for in the bag, then treated us suspiciously when we returned to get it. Not to mention instructors telling awkward jokes about women and their bodies, making this place uncomfortable.

my new drysuit thanks to Diver Dan's!

I worked with Dan to get a DUI CLX50/50 drysuit; he was extremely responsive, knowledgeable and helpful. Dan patiently answered my many questions over the phone about the drysuit. I took the plunge (excuse the pun) and purchased the drysuit. Dan promptly shipped it to me in the mail; it arrived in two days and was exactly as described and what I wanted! When I had a minor concern about the latex zip seals being new but a little deteriorated from storage and Dan immediately sent me brand new wrist and neck seals. Dan, his store and his staff are trustworthy and put the customer first. I highly recommend purchasing scuba equipment from Diver Dan's whether in person or online.

I've enjoyed patronizing Diver Dan's since they opened 25 years ago and found Dan (formerly an aerospace engineer), his son, and team to be excellent instructors and equipment advisors. I now have about 3,000 Dives and still purchase 95% of my gear here, including a great Shearwater Teric dive computer at more than 15% off list price with trade-in and discounts last week! Diver Dan's competes well with online shopping by offering lower prices in-store, which many online stores can't do because of price-fixing. He also offers trade-ins for some older equipment, such as computers, that can lower the price another ~15% for massive savings on expensive equipment. Coupled with personalized service by experienced dive staff that have dived all over the world, instant replacements of anything if a problem, and sharing of diving experiences makes this a unique and valued dive training and equipment supplier for the SF Bay Area! Diver Dan's frequently has rental gear in good condition for sale and is happy for you to test your gear with their tanks and pool. They also arrange diving excursions to the top diving locations in the world, including Indonesia, Bonaire, Micronesia, Philippines, and more. They are a longtime and valuable resource for the diving community and I'll continue to keep them as my go-to resource.

A HUGE THANK YOU to Dan and Jeremy for their continued support to the Los Gatos Monte Sereno Police Department Disaster Aid Response Team, DART. Our Search and Recovery Dive Team most recently supported CalFire, in their annual Hellitac Ditch Training at The LGHS pool. It is because of your support in maintaining our safety equipment as well as tanks, that we are able to provide the underwater support need to keep our firefighter safe and well trained. Thank you for helping us serve and protect our community!

I signed up for my Advanced PADI course through SF Scuba Schools and ended up with John from Carmel…read moreBay Divers. We spent the weekend in Monterey with a cozy class of 3 students. For the Advanced course, Saturday was a long but low-stress 8am-10pm day, and Sunday was 8:30am-3pm -- including time for meals and chillaxing. -Before the course:- I was nervous about various things including buoyancy skills, night diving, not getting enough attention from the instructor, getting too cold in the freezing Monterey waters, and falling behind everyone else in terms of skills. By the end, I wasn't worried about any of the above. -About the instructor:- John was insanely helpful, attentive, and experienced, and made me feel at ease the entire weekend. His down-to-earth attitude and humor definitely kept me going through the difficult sections of the class. -Before each dive:- John made sure that we understood exactly what we were going to do. He was always happy to answer my overly-abundant questions, and gave excellent instruction on what to do underwater, from the technical aspects to the emotional/mental ones (Settle down. Think warm thoughts. Fun is mandatory!). -During the dives:- I finally got properly weighted during our buoyancy checks, and IT FEELS SO GOOD! My buoyancy skills improved dramatically over the weekend. John was incredibly patient underwater. When I messed up one of the underwater navigation skills, he helped me through it again and helped me adjust where I went wrong the first time. Night diving was my biggest fear going into the course, and I wasn't even scared going into the pitch black ocean with John at my side. The ocean life is completely fascinating at night, and I'm excited to say that I'm not (as) scared of that crazy dark ocean abyss! -Between dives:- We had plenty of time to warm up, and I never once felt rushed. He even brought a tub of warm water for us to pour into our suits afterwards. -Last thoughts:- If you're looking to take any kind of scuba certification class, John is your go-to guy. I feel so much more confident in my diving skills after this past weekend. Already looking into taking another course with him (probably dry-suit because I'm a weenie when it comes to cold water). Thanks dude!!

WOW - what can I say?? If you are researching places to get PADI certified- GO HERE!!! Stop your…read moresearch now or you'll be sorry! The company is run by John Foxhall, a master diver with over 30 years of not only diving experience, but TEACHING experience. Other places may have similar COST, but they will guaranteed have a sub par experience. John is incredibly patient and compassionate for all his students. He is passionate about diving and ensures you not only have the skills required by PADI, but FUN IS MANDATORY. :) He is very accommodating to personal anxieties (of which I had no shortage), injuries/sore muscles (which i also experienced) and fitness levels (I'm average). He also has excellent equipment for rental and purchase and can explain the differences between bottom shelf, middle and top shelf products. My husband and I used John's course to prepare for a dive in the Cayman Islands and even though we will be "first-time" divers there, we feel confident we could keep up and/or lead among other divers. John has taken our skill sets from zero to extreme confidence in our ability! *****GRAB YOUR DIVE BUDDY AND A COUPLE OF FRIENDS AND GET CERTIFIED HERE.****** Also, if you are looking to take your basic certification to the next level, you want to do it with John. He has too much knowledge to keep all to himself!! Also, if you are averse to cold conditions, John has frequent certification classes further South which is also something the other places will not offer you. Can't recommend highly enough. Thank you John ad Carmel Bay Divers!!!

James was truly the best. He got us in last minute and worked so hard to find great whites for us…read moreto see. He drove around all over to ensure that we got to see them. Our brake line had blown as we pulled into the parking lot and he not only tried to help fix it but drove my husband to the auto parts store. He was the nicest guy around and I would for sure recommend him to anyone that wants to go on any kind of tour!

If you want an adventure, you want to know Captain James Moskito and Safari Monterey…read more I've known James for years and have done a few various adventures with him from whale watching to white shark adventures. I haven't been on one of his travel vacations yet, but plan on it one day. He's a class act, extremely knowledgeable about his field, the animals, the adventures, the conservation, the areas, etc etc.; Whatever adventure you decide to take with Safari Monterey, just know it'll be a great time and he'll bust his ass to make sure you get the experience you pay for. That being said, nature is nature and NOT a zoo, so you may or may not see the animal du jour, but just know that it won't be due to lack of effort On James' part. This weekend I did a whale and white shark tour; 3 hours encircled by 20+ Whales and 4 hours searching for Great Whites, all while covering 64-nautical miles and we didn't see a White Shark until 10-min before docking! Luckily, I had my camera out taking a photo of a Pelican, when James yelled "SHARK", then brought the boat to a stop... and that was it. The shark went down and didn't come back up. We estimated at 11'-13'. It was a BIG dorsal fin. There were Whales everywhere you looked all across the bay and we got our fill there. Just came up short on White Sharks, but it was a great day overall with James and Safari Monterey.
