The Sausalito Sea Trek location, one of two here in the San Francisco Bay Area, the other in Alameda, comprises of a group of highly recommended teams. Very easy to register, approve waiver and rent various standup paddle boards and kayaks. Fantastic day out on the Bay!

This place is awesome! They provide wet bags and lifejackets and we watched a short safety video before heading out on the water. The staff were super nice! At the dock where you get in the water, there is a large floating platform and the guys help you and push your kayak in the water, which is nice because you don't even get wet! Your bottom will get a little wet out on the water so make sure to bring an extra pair of undies and dry pants to change into afterwards.

I have kayaked with Sea Trek for years, but this guided tour under our iconic Golden Gate Bridge and along the cliffs was absolutely breathtaking and exhilarating. Never ceases to impress me how much natural beauty we have in our back yard. The outing was guided by Mark, who has 30 years of experience and perfectly timed so that the tidal currents were with us in both directions. The elements can be a bit rough at times, so some experience in a sit-in kayak is recommended. But a little wind and waves just heightened the adventure! An absolute highlight. Will do it again, for sure :)

This is my second time at Sea Trek Sausalito and both times have been great! Amazing views, calm waters, helpful staff. AND DOG FRIENDLY!!! The perfect activity for you and your pup!

Sausalito Tour - on our way back to the dock, you get a nice view of downtown SF.

This was so much fun! As someone who has never set foot in a kayak, the Sausalito tour was a great place to start. The tour was a leisurely pace, and our guides were friendly and full of tips on how to paddle, get in/out of your kayak, and how to easily navigate the waters. We made a lot of stops to talk about the history of the surrounding area, and traveled as a group - nobody was left behind. We saw Oreo on the dock, and there were quite a few seals spotted as we were kayaking. None of them got too close, but they were swimming alongside us for a bit! As for facilities, there were maintained restrooms nearby, lockers to store your personal items, drybags for your phone and windbreakers in all sizes (pants & jacket). The Bay Model was a nice museum to visit after the tour as well.

My bestie and I loved renting single kayaks here! They're only $35/hr, super amazing bargain. There were a ton of adorable seals laying on the dock where they launch us. The views are incredible on a clear day of the SF skyline and when you go north, we got to see gorgeous Mt Tam, the houseboats, and seaplanes. I'd recommend 2 hrs minimum to see everything on a sunny non windy day ;)

SeaTrek equipment (on the left) makes bay enjoyment simple. Single Kayaks, Double Kayaks, and SUPs for rent.

It's human nature. We go on vacation, leave all of our everyday woes behind, and then return home thinking "I want to live there", as if your problems won't follow you. Sometimes though, it's possible to have that experience without going on vacation. SeaTrek allows one to leave every care behind. Paddling (SUP or kayak) in the bay, it's impossible to be anything less than blissful. A "book of time" is how best to most economically enjoy SeaTrek. $175 buys you 10 hours of kayak or SUP rentals, is valid for 1 year, and can be used by up to 4 people. After your first visit, you'll want to return and the book of time gives you an incentive to do so. The efficiency with which one can get on the water here is stunning. Reserve a space and sign a release online, in advance. Arrive and park in the free Bay Model lot. Check in and, if it's your first visit, watch a brief but informative video of about 5 minutes duration. The video makes clear where you can go and how far you can go; pay attention. You don't want to be that person who runs out of steam and needs to call from the water for help getting back. With that done, walk down to the water where a kayak or SUP awaits. It's that easy. Head in one direction and you'll be the envy of all the diners along the Sausalito waterfront. Head the other direction and paddle among the ridiculously charming houseboat communities. There's pelicans, seals, sea lions, and all sorts of water birds. The bay sparkles. The air is fresh. You're not on the Amalfi Coast but where you are is equal in beauty. I promise, SeaTrek is the answer to whatever ails you.

What a fun little hidden gem right outside of San Francisco we came here not knowing what to expect out of the experience but I was extremely surprised and loved every minute of my experience! You pay based on how long you're out on the water and it's totally up to you what you do with that time. We rented a two person kayak which ended up being a good choice on our end because the water can get a little rocky when the yachts pass by. The other option is a stand up Paddle board, which looked fun but I don't trust my own balancing skills. When coming here, you can get an up close opportunity to check out the floating houses in Sausalito and woww they are unreal all the boats and yachts passing by were another experience in itself. Everyone is so friendly, smiling and waiving and truly enjoying their time on the water. There's so many little seals either sun bathing or popping their heads up to check you out but still keep enough space that it won't freak you out. If you head the opposite direction of the floating homes, you get the most unbelievable view of San Francisco! The entire experience was breathtaking and I will 100% be back

I have always rented the rest of the gear and they have worked great for me. You can tell that their equipment is well taken care of hence why I keep getting my gear from here. COURSES Michael was the instructor for all my courses and always went above and beyond to make sure you were confident and SAFE in the water. He answers any questions you have and you can tell he has a lot of knowledge and experience about diving that he shares. It was also nice to know that you were diving with a PRO/S. ADVANCED OPEN WATER The courses were always well organized from start to finish. You knew what you were doing for each hour of the day give and take some delays. This information was provided to you prior to the course as PDF. I did my advanced course at San Carlos Beach, Monterey. The day starts at 7 AM and by the time you get there, Michael and staff have already began setting up a big green tent that you cannot miss from the water. They even brought coolers full of food, snacks, and drinks! There are also scuba shops and restaurants within walking distance that you can get to. By 8 AM you are expected to be suited up and have already come up with a dive plan, which the instructor goes over with the group. This dive plan happened every time before every dive ensuring that everyone was in sync. When everyone is in the water, you gather at one spot on the surface and then we all descend together keeping the group together. This was the same when we were in the water, we were a school of divers following the instructors until we ascended. Of course during the navigation dive we were expected to navigate a square leading us back to our starting point with our dive buddy. This was a great learning experience. There was also an extra instructor that hovered around us which was nice. 2 instructors for 6 people. The five dives that we did were the performance buoyancy, deep dive, multi level, navigation, and fish identification dive. Overall it's always enjoyable diving with Michael and Harbor Dive staff and look forward to doing more dives with them. I would highly recommend to anyone!

My experience was even better the second time around! The assistance from Michael and Nina was great. They were knowledgeable and courteous. At the pool, the instructor was polite and proficient and helped me to get reacquainted with the gear and the basic skills that are necessary to know in order to dive safely. I enjoyed being in the water again so much, that after the class I went back to the shop and ask about fun dives and other possible classes. I spoke with Michael, and his passion for diving reminded me just how much I have missed it! I decided to sign up for the Advanced Open Water class for the following weekend before I left. In Monterey, conditions can be challenging but for me that is part of the fun. Michael was the Instructor for my Advanced class. It had been several years since I dove Monterey, so I was a little nervous. He was helpful, totally professional and patient. Monterey is not warm water diving like Mexico or the Bahamas, or even Hawaii. Safety is his Number 1 priority, so it is absolutely necessary to listen and follow all instructions and to ask for help if you need it. And... IT WAS AMAZING!!! Up next, Dry Suit certification!

And after a couple of classes, I was hooked. Jen motivates you without acting like a drill sergeant. Her classes are nothing but positive and free-spirited. It's odd when you can exercise and smile/laugh at the same time. That's the kind of environment she creates for her classes. Started with bagged lunches (deli sandwiches), about 25 people total in our large group (international colleagues from North/South America and Europe, minus Australia). Out of the five boats, the female captain was the race director for the day and we had to navigate the differently-colored buoys floating in the water. Not all of the boats were identical (make/model, size, age?) so there was an adjustment/differential to the final times, but all were generally recent model monohull sailboats 30-45 feet long. Grey Goose, Ry Whitt, Survivor, Liberty, and one other boat I can't recall the name of (might've been Attitude Adjustment) were our racing sailboats for the afternoon regatta, teams of 4-5. I was assigned to Liberty, a beautiful 38-foot Beneteau. Our US Coast Guard certified captain/skipper from Modern Sailing School was Bill and also served as our tactician; one of our guys took the driver role/steering to telltales, and another was in charge of the mainsail. Another took one side for the jib sail and I took the other side depending on if we needed to tack or jib (gybe), our fifth person assisted where needed with ropes/wench handles, etc. The weather was fine -- the fog lifted and the sun came out making for great views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the San Francisco city skyline, the Bay Bridge, and Alcatraz. I'd done whitewater rafting and 2-person kayaking before, snorkeling and parasailing but this was my first time sailing! We had a little bit of time to practice and literally "learn the ropes" and fundamentals before the motor was turned off and the official race started at 1:00 PM. The two basic turning maneuvers/techniques with the skipper strategically navigating us through using the wind speed/direction (especially through Hurricane Gulch) and sea state/tides (smooth vs choppy water) was challenging but fun. Not only were we racing each other and trying to round our marks along the course, but there were of course other fishing boats, ferries, Hornblower cruise ships, windsurfers, and paddleboarders in the water too -- even saw a few seals! The race time on the water was around 2 hours for our team (keep in mind the boats were only traveling maybe 8 miles per hour) but lunch was included on land as well as an awards reception (beer/champagne, medals) for all of the teams afterward. We weren't first, but we weren't last either! If you're feeling "nauti" and the line where the sky meets the sea calls you, let your inner Moana/Maui try out wayfinding with the winds in your sails on the SF Bay at Modern Sailing School!
