I first started kayaking at SeaTrek on Friday mornings with a group of women during Covid. It helped save our sanity. We then traveled to Italy's Amalfi Coast with SeaTrek for an unforgettable adventure. I've now been a member for several years, heading out once a week, weather permitting. Second generation owner Galen Licht and all his staff couldn't be more accommodating, helpful, and encouraging. Galen's generosity to local nonprofits is unparalleled. Love supporting this local business on our waterfront. Can't wait to get out there on one of the new Duffy boats!

The Sausalito Sea Trek location, one of two here in the San Francisco Bay Area, the other in Alameda, comprises of a group of highly recommended teams. Very easy to register, approve waiver and rent various standup paddle boards and kayaks. Fantastic day out on the Bay!

This place is awesome! They provide wet bags and lifejackets and we watched a short safety video before heading out on the water. The staff were super nice! At the dock where you get in the water, there is a large floating platform and the guys help you and push your kayak in the water, which is nice because you don't even get wet! Your bottom will get a little wet out on the water so make sure to bring an extra pair of undies and dry pants to change into afterwards.

I have kayaked with Sea Trek for years, but this guided tour under our iconic Golden Gate Bridge and along the cliffs was absolutely breathtaking and exhilarating. Never ceases to impress me how much natural beauty we have in our back yard. The outing was guided by Mark, who has 30 years of experience and perfectly timed so that the tidal currents were with us in both directions. The elements can be a bit rough at times, so some experience in a sit-in kayak is recommended. But a little wind and waves just heightened the adventure! An absolute highlight. Will do it again, for sure :)

This is my second time at Sea Trek Sausalito and both times have been great! Amazing views, calm waters, helpful staff. AND DOG FRIENDLY!!! The perfect activity for you and your pup!

My bestie and I loved renting single kayaks here! They're only $35/hr, super amazing bargain. There were a ton of adorable seals laying on the dock where they launch us. The views are incredible on a clear day of the SF skyline and when you go north, we got to see gorgeous Mt Tam, the houseboats, and seaplanes. I'd recommend 2 hrs minimum to see everything on a sunny non windy day ;)

This was so much fun! As someone who has never set foot in a kayak, the Sausalito tour was a great place to start. The tour was a leisurely pace, and our guides were friendly and full of tips on how to paddle, get in/out of your kayak, and how to easily navigate the waters. We made a lot of stops to talk about the history of the surrounding area, and traveled as a group - nobody was left behind. We saw Oreo on the dock, and there were quite a few seals spotted as we were kayaking. None of them got too close, but they were swimming alongside us for a bit! As for facilities, there were maintained restrooms nearby, lockers to store your personal items, drybags for your phone and windbreakers in all sizes (pants & jacket). The Bay Model was a nice museum to visit after the tour as well.

It's human nature. We go on vacation, leave all of our everyday woes behind, and then return home thinking "I want to live there", as if your problems won't follow you. Sometimes though, it's possible to have that experience without going on vacation. SeaTrek allows one to leave every care behind. Paddling (SUP or kayak) in the bay, it's impossible to be anything less than blissful. A "book of time" is how best to most economically enjoy SeaTrek. $175 buys you 10 hours of kayak or SUP rentals, is valid for 1 year, and can be used by up to 4 people. After your first visit, you'll want to return and the book of time gives you an incentive to do so. The efficiency with which one can get on the water here is stunning. Reserve a space and sign a release online, in advance. Arrive and park in the free Bay Model lot. Check in and, if it's your first visit, watch a brief but informative video of about 5 minutes duration. The video makes clear where you can go and how far you can go; pay attention. You don't want to be that person who runs out of steam and needs to call from the water for help getting back. With that done, walk down to the water where a kayak or SUP awaits. It's that easy. Head in one direction and you'll be the envy of all the diners along the Sausalito waterfront. Head the other direction and paddle among the ridiculously charming houseboat communities. There's pelicans, seals, sea lions, and all sorts of water birds. The bay sparkles. The air is fresh. You're not on the Amalfi Coast but where you are is equal in beauty. I promise, SeaTrek is the answer to whatever ails you.

What a fun little hidden gem right outside of San Francisco we came here not knowing what to expect out of the experience but I was extremely surprised and loved every minute of my experience! You pay based on how long you're out on the water and it's totally up to you what you do with that time. We rented a two person kayak which ended up being a good choice on our end because the water can get a little rocky when the yachts pass by. The other option is a stand up Paddle board, which looked fun but I don't trust my own balancing skills. When coming here, you can get an up close opportunity to check out the floating houses in Sausalito and woww they are unreal all the boats and yachts passing by were another experience in itself. Everyone is so friendly, smiling and waiving and truly enjoying their time on the water. There's so many little seals either sun bathing or popping their heads up to check you out but still keep enough space that it won't freak you out. If you head the opposite direction of the floating homes, you get the most unbelievable view of San Francisco! The entire experience was breathtaking and I will 100% be back

The group we rafted with was cohesive and kind, and the guides were patient, but challenging. We had the opportunity to be part of a rowing school and to understand the "science" of rafting. Examples of instruction were navigating into an eddy, ferrying across a current to the other side of the river, tying off a boat, setting up angles, and reading currents were just a few skills that were taught. Sierra Mac and our group was welcoming, eager to teach, and patient all the while giving appropriate feedback. The instruction truly was "hands on" as we got the opportunity to take a turn at rowing to learn the basic mechanics of boat rowing. While we expected to be in tents, we actually slept without them, and this ended up being a cool experience for us and pushed my teenagers to realize it can be done! Highly recommend Tom and the whole crew. Every guide was a class act, and we particularly appreciated how many combined years of experience they all brought. Next time, I'll bring a GoPro camera to capture the thrill a little better on the rapids. We hope to be able to do this again! Thank you Tom and Sierra Mac!

First off you can do 18miles on a day trip which is un heard of. The flow was amazing. But what really set this apart from several other outfitters over the years were the guides (Ask for Awesome Andrew the Arborist) and their professionalism and safety/fun factor. Secondly i've done a ton of day trips and never seen a lunch spread like this. Whole family still talking about the sandwiches, options and even had Keto bread (one of 5 choices), several cheese options, meat and veggies. Plus fresh cut fruit. Was epic and something that we will remember. Met the founder Marty-river legend and his son Tom who drove us to the drop site-also legend and cannot say enough about this operator. Clearly a cut above the rest

While we have used different outfits lately - we had a great experience with Russian River Adventures a few years back, so we came in excited to return. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing, mainly due to poor planning by the staff. We booked for four people on a Thursday - my wife, myself, and our two teens (14 and 16)--with the expectation that we'd have two boats, which is standard for this group size. However, the team miscounted the boats that morning. When we pointed this out, instead of fixing the mistake, they pulled us aside and crammed all four of us into a boat intended for three, squeezing in an extra seat to make it "fit." Visibly frustrated, the team promised to speak with the owner and make it right (it was two high schoolers running it that day). I didn't argue and wanted to at least try to have a good time and not be that Dad. The result on the boat? A very cramped and uncomfortable setup that made the inflatable much harder to steer and navigate--especially on a 9-mile river trip. This wasn't the experience we paid for or expected based on our prior trips. The staff seemed more focused on moving us along rather than making it right. Still haven't heard from the owner. We'll likely explore other options next time around. Disappointed to see the service slip like this.

I went with a group of 10, last July, and it ended up being such a chaotic (in the best way) and bonding experience. We still talk about it to this day. They also offer a group discount, which is worth looking into and made it feel like a really good value for everything included. All of us were first-timers, so we were definitely a little nervous going in, but the staff made it feel really welcoming right away. They gave a quick crash course/overview on how to navigate the water and what to expect, which helped ease a lot of the nerves. I'd say it's very beginner-friendly, just keep in mind it is a Class 2-3 course, so there are still some rocky and more exciting sections. The rafting is self-guided, so there's no guide on your raft, but there is a sweeper raft at the end making sure everyone gets through safely. There was also one section where the rapids got pretty wild, and staff were there helping anyone who got stuck, which I appreciated. Overall, everything felt organized and ran smoothly. We did the 2-day experience, and I'd recommend it if you're comfortable with camping. The overnight stay is outdoors, so just something to keep in mind if you're not used to that. The campsite had a really social vibe with a happy hour, group activities, and just people hanging out, which made it even more fun. The food was honestly better than I expected. We had steak and baked potatoes for dinner, and a breakfast burrito station in the morning. During the rafting, there were also a lot of scenic spots along the way where you could rest and take everything in. I remember passing by what used to be a volcanic site, which was really cool to see. Each raft comes with a waterproof bag for your belongings and lunch, but I'd recommend bringing extra snacks, water or electrolytes, sunscreen, and good water shoes. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this for friend groups, especially if it's your first time rafting. It's a great mix of fun, a little bit of challenge, and just a really unique experience. My friends and I are already planning to go again this year.
