I am liking this place more and more! Many of the smaller items are cheaper here than in NYC-- where I'm from and where I usually shop. Not all items are cheaper-- so be careful when you shop-- for example, the large sized clear dry bag by Trident. $15 more here at DD rather than QC Scuba in NY. There is a HUGE selection of just about everything here! Its like a diver's playland (even more so if only I had a credit card with no limit!) The BCDs are more expensive here than in NY. Shop Leisure Pro online-- youd get a better deal. DD has a points reward card available-- spend ~$250 and get $10 back-- less than even 10%, but its a gesture that is still well appreciated I spent wayyyy too much money this summer at DD... I like a clean, organized dive shop. And that's what I got at Diver's Direct. The store was clean, neat and organized nicely with rows and rows of BCDs, fins, regulators, wetsuits, booties, and spearfishing gear. In addition to the scuba gear, there was a generous selection of beach apparel for men, women and children. There's also a good array of equipment for free-diving and spearfishing. On this visit, I was not in the neighborhood for purchasing equipment, but I did select a T-shirt and other small accessories. I had a question about a product and the staff went beyond just answering my question, to explaining the ins and outs of the options available to me regarding my inquiry. I lost the tip for my spear-gun, after awhile you just need to replace them. So I go to Divers Direct and pick the closest they had to my first one. One shot, ONE SHOT! and it was gone. The cable that is suppose to connect the break away tip to the gun, broke away. Lost a grouper and a $31 dollar tip, know what they said when I went back in? "We will write the manufacturer for you." I might be wrong in this, but I believe that if you sell a bad product, you replace or refund. All they did was fucking shrug! That is not acceptable. read more

We stopped in here on our recent trip to Key Largo. If you are traveling through the keys I definitely think it is worth a stop in! No pressure sales, and helpful associates when you need them (which is what I like). Good selection of dive gear, fins, masks, boots, wetsuits, spear guns, tanks, bcd's...everything you need! Prices are reasonable and I actually ended up getting a vest/hood combo since I get cold easily and I figured the extra layer would be great to have when needed. I was able to get it and save a little $$ - whoo hoo! This store has more than diving gear as well, they have a huge selection of clothes for men and women and a decent selection of flip flops. Too curious not to stop in and check out this place as I also saw them a couple times in the Miami area. Big store with just about every thing you need to dive and snorkel. I browsed around with no specific item in mind. I bought some anti-fog. Prices were average...I saw better prices at Scuba Outlet down the street. But this place does have more item so if you're looking for something in particular and can't find it at the other dive stores, these guys probably have it. read more

This place seemingly sells more apparel (clothing, sandals, bathing suits) than they do dive equipment so I guess it's a dive shop and a clothing store. Not bad if your in a pinch and need some dive equipment. They have racks and racks of gear. The huge store is nice and bright and well laid out. The complete opposite of your typical LDS. Their prices didn't seem to be the best. Their name would lead you to believe that you can get gear at rock bottom "outlet" prices. Not the case. Even the simplest of hooks and latches seemed to be slightly overpriced. I had picked up a catch for my Octo at the dive shop I was diving with in Key Largo and the same item was $2 more expensive at Divers Direct Outlet. If you need a lot of equipment I would stick with Leisure Pro or one of the other reputable online Scuba retailers. read more

I just came back to Ft Myers from spending several days fishing and spear fishing in Key Largo with family. Went in to the Divers Direct store several times and was helped by a super sweet young lady named Shyla three days in a row. She was phenomenal. Went in today to get a rash guard and left with knowledge of more dive sites in the Taverniere area and a new place to dive with sharks. Met Jonah and this young man is filled with knowledge of Largo and all dive spots to go to. He ended up recommending me to Capitan Slates Scuba Adventure for a shark dive. I was talking to Jonah about a shark dive I went on in Jupiter about a month ago, and he quickly told me about Capitan Slates. He told me about how they have Creature Feature dives on Fridays and Sundays. You cant dive with Eels and Sharks. He also showed me his Knowledge of BCD's. He told me how Zeigle was a great brand and what made them superior to the competition. Jonah was very outgoing and polite. He tried his best to help me with all of my dive needs. This young man is going places. I hope he keeps his head up high and and has a successful journey in life. Give this man a promotion and a raise. He deserves it. read more

Thanks Pam! 6 of us snorkeling, with my 4 children 8-17. Eco wetsuits for everyone, and glad we got them because it was chilly after several hours in the water and no sunshine. The beanie cap for my wife was a great idea from Pam too, and kept my wife cozy and warm without being too claustrophobic. Great selection of gear and really a one-stop-shop. It was so nice to be visiting from out of town and have Pam direct us to options for a personalized snorkeling experience (just my family with captain Harry, enjoying the flexibility to move among the reefs 2 days in a row). The waterproof iPad case we purchased helped us capture Christ of the Abyss and several other great underwater videos. We were snorkeling in Penne Camp with my husband. Somehow he dropped his Rolex that I gave him for our anniversary. We needed scuba tanks to look for it. And Divers Direct had just closed when we got there. He told them the story and they let him in and sold 2 full scuba tanks. I am new to the area and was interested in trying on and buying some snorkel gear. The store is large and very intimidating for someone who knows nothing about snorkel/scuba/diving. There was a lot of cute clothes, but if you wear anything size large or bigger (womens) you won't find it here. After wandering around the store looking lost for 20 mintues or so... walking past sales people numerous times, my presence was never aknowleged. So I left. Sonny rocks! He's the employee that we happened upon when we walked into the store. My husband and I went out for a Discovery Dive yesterday for the first time ever. We fell in love and decided we want to get certified to dive. We are all in type of people so we headed over to look at wet suits. Sonny offered to help us and when I tell you that this fella stayed with us for a good couple of hours!!!! We decided we wanted it all! He walked us through every single department and thoroughly explained every aspect and angle for every piece of equipment we needed. He taught us about fins, fabric of suits, regulators, vests.... you name it, this guy was a walking university of dive knowledge. He also has been diving for over 40 years so he also taught us things about the dive itself and not just equipment. We bought soooo much stuff because we decided we wanted his input. We were going to shop online after getting home from vacation, but we had such an amazing experience here that we decided to do it all! They had an amazing selection of everything! I even got my little pink colored accents on everything lol.... best of all, Sonny actually assembled our equipment and helped us test it all! I'm so happy we went in and met him. This place seriously exceeded our expectations. The best part, we got so excited from the experience and bought everything that we forgot we came on bikes! Haha... We were going to come back, but the staff at the store helped us pack everything in our new backpack scuba bags, and Sonny actually strapped us in and got us on our bikes lol.... what an amazing impromptu experience. After being a longtime customer of Divers Direct, today they lost my business and I will be sure to spread the word of their poor practice being provided. Yesterday, I purchased what was suppose to be a reef friendly sunscreen for the use today doing coral restoration work here in Key Largo. When I arrived at one of the local Blue-Star dive boats I was informed that the brand I purchased, which was advertised as being reef safe, was not and not allowed. No problem I would simply return the item and have a discussion with the management. When I returned the product I took a picture of their advertising of the product. When discussing the issue management told me that there is some old product mixed in and they just need to get rid of it. As well, I was told that the product didn't have the two ingredients that were illegal even though the associates were well aware that other ingredients, although not yet illegal in the Keys, are frowned upon by the local dive community and scientist. This practice was shady. To add, I returned to the store a few minutes later to see that the only resolve is that they removed the signage that says reef safe but kept the product in the reef safe section. Simply put, that was the last purchase I will ever make without Divers Direct. For a company who makes its living from the dive community and the reefs, they should care just a bit more about the protection of them. read more

Your store has turned into a clothing boutique. Half the store is beachwear, swimsuits, sun tan lotion, and sunglasses. There are fewer and fewer scuba brands in the store than before.
