My wife and I went to Divers Direct in Orlando on 6/14/2013 looking to purchase masks, snorkels and fins for our trip to the Keys. We received a very welcome greeting when we entered the store and one of their associates asked if he could answer any questions. Ron (the associate) proceeded to spend over an hour with us as we looked at the gear we needed. My wife had a wish list and after his review and expert knowledge we ended up getting the right gear and saving over $100.00 from the list of items that we had brought in. My son and I son recently went diving in Key Largo. If you have ever been to the Keys you know there are dive shops and instructors as far as the eye can see. While we were down there we went diving with instructor Kell Levendorf from DiversDirect. We went diving on Molasses Reef and Spiegal Grove. Spiegal Grove is by far my favorite dive to date. It's always good to go diving with someone who is competent and knows the dive site. If you are ever in the area and need to get certified or looking to dive with someone familiar with the area I highly recommend Kell Levendorf. For anything to do with swimming, snorkeling, or diving the beautiful waters of Key Largo Divers Direct is the place to go. From the moment you walk through the doors you will notice that they have it all. The employees at Divers Direct are friendly and very knowledgable about the products they sell. It does not matter if you are buying a five dollar mask defog or a thousand dollar camera they treat everyone the same. read more

I am new to diving but it seemed like their selection was pretty good compared to the dive shops I've been to. The reason why I give it 2 stars is because gear is expensive to begin with and the girl that helped me was great but the total price she gave was outrageous!! I asked "isn't that a little high?" and she said "oh sorry, I rang 2 things in twice! No big deal, I'll just take it off!" Yeah, it ($146) is a big deal!! I don't think it was done on purpose but I bought a lot of things and you never know! She may have just hoped I wouldn't notice? Check your totals carefully! read more

Customer service was terrible. The worst!The girl that helped us was sooo rude. I Bought a dive suit there that didn't fit properly, when I went to return it the manager J.L. accused me of wearing it In the water. It still had the tags on it and just didn't right because I couldn't get proper service when I initially purchased it. Then when I returned the suit I noticed I was charged for an under water phone case that I didn't even buy or have in the bag. When I told the worker Michelle who checked me out the first time, and was there when I went back, that I did not purchase that, she was very defensive and rude and started describing to me that she remembers me buying a yellow case. She remembers what case I bought 10 days prior? Please. She probably charged me and kept it for her self. Finally the top manager came out from the back and set everything straight, but I have never had a worse experience with customer service in my life. Those workers need to get off their elbows and be much more helpful, use to be my favorite dive store. Now, I'll never go back. read more

Website order... Totally, totally screwed me over. Sent me fins without clips - I called 2 days before departure on my trip and they said "Fedex has picked up for the day - we can't help you." I said "Do you understand these fins are worthless and I know someone could run by Fedex on the way home and send this to me?" Not concerned, not helpful. There was time to remedy this problem, but they didn't. Wow, really disappointing. read more

I purchased numerous tanks and dive gear in October 2011. I spent over $5000.00 in one purchase. In June 2012 I used one of the tanks for the first time. I attached regulator and found the tank only was basically empty. I checked tank in water and saw a leak from the seal between valve and tank. I took the tank back to the Ft Lauderdale store and was met by an extremely inexperienced salesman who was telling me the tank needed a visual as it was empty. I said the tank valve needs to be removed to find leak and then a visual could be done anyway. He did not understand and called a rude manager. the manager would not talk or look at me and spoke to the salesman as if I was not there. He said the customer must pay for a visual and that is all there is too the matter. I am an instructor and have done a million visuals and tank repairs in my lifetime. I could repair this leak in less than 15 minutes however I just felt seeing as I bought the tank and have never used it that it was the responsibility of Diver Direct to repair the issue and refill the tank. Obviously Divers Direct could care less about customer care and feel charging me $15 to repair a warranty issue would be far more beneficial to there bank than keeping me as a customer. I can guarantee I will NEVER use Divers direct ever again and will do my best to spread the word in the dive industry about this disgusting poor service read more

My husband already had the gear he needed for our snorkel trip in Key Largo, however I was starting from scratch and needed everything. Although the boat we rented offered everything, I wanted my own gear for future use as well. Couldn't have been happier with the service Donna provided. She hooked me up with EVERYTHING I needed. She suggested the best gear for me personally and wasn't just trying to sell me the most expensive things. Cant say enough about how much better it made my 2 days in the water. Purchased the Evo Hi Definition double lens mask and snorkel combo that was highly recommended by Donna. The mask was unbelievable, never fogged and the clarity was amazing, so happy with it!! She also set us up with an anti fog gel that worked wonders. The fins I purchased were the Mares Volvo Race Scuba and Donna you were so right when you said you could cut through the current like butter with these things. LOVED THEM! I didn't want to get out of the water. She also recommended a large bag to store everything in. She did t miss anything. She was awesome and if we ever need anything else in Key Largo we will ask for her. She was knowledgeable and friendly and not pushy at all. Thanks Donna for making my Keys snorkeling experience a great adventure. read more

I was in the market for an Atomic Venom mask for my wife's birthday. I noticed that DD had the item in stock. Just to make sure I contacted them directly and was told that it was in stock and they would ship it the same day. Perfect. I made the purchase and received an email the same day notifying me the mask had shipped along with a tracking number. Two days later, I decided to check the status and learned that there was no information for the tracking number. I called customer service and was told that the tracking number was only a delivery confirmation and the tracking number would not give me details on actual tracking, but the mask had shipped. Later that evening, I decided to check the tracking number again only to find out that the carrier had just received the item for shipping. Bottom line, I was lied to about when the mask was actually shipped and as a result it didn't arrive on time. In the bigger picture of things it is not the end of the world, but the first rule of customer service is don't lie to the customer if you want to keep the customer. Next time, I will stay with Leisure Pro or Scuba.com. read more
