Highly recommended! We have stopped in here with friends on several occasions. It's right off of Campo de Fiori and it's a nice respite from the pushy restauranteurs and the sometimes loud musicians in the square. It's very low key and a great place to be able to sit and chat and actually hear the other people talk without having to yell. It's almost like you are sitting in a little wine cellar. Shelves of wine adorn the walls so it's very cozy. It would be a great place to bring a date for sure. On our most recent visit, the gentleman that served us was especially helpful and welcoming. We asked about the various food and wine offerings and after we settled on a cheese board, the gentleman proceeded to suggest some wine pairings and also walked us through the different cheeses on the board and how they were made and what made each of them unique. It was a very nice experience and we again made a mental note that on our next trip to Rome, we would definitely be visiting L'Angolo Divino again! read more

A bit of a disappointment - wine was okay, nice ambiance, but we ordered an off menu special of buffalo mozzarella and prosciutto. While it was delicious, it was ridiculously over priced. Probably the first time we experienced sticker shock in Rome. On top of that, the waiter was very pushy about the tip, which almost never happens. Take care. read more

Wonderful wine bar with a great selection and surprisingly good food. It's the perfect quiet getaway from a busy city.

My husband and I had the pleasure of experiencing Massimo's kind welcoming, and incredible knowledge of wine on a Tuesday evening back in August. Sorry, Massimo it took so long to write our review! We were staying at Hotel Ponte Sisto and just happened to come upon Massimo's place on our last night in Rome. We consider ourselves wine novices, and Massimo heard this and kindly took the reins and lead us on a journey of wonderful Barbaresco's, ravioli, meat and cheese platters, and I actually ate steak Tar Tare for the first time, and it was absolutely delicious! Conveniently located just off Campo de Fiori is this hidden gem. Not loud or pretentious, but simple and quaint. Excellent wines and the gentlemen can find the perfect wine for you at your price point. Buy a bottle at the restaurant and take it with you. They also ship international. Both bottles selected for me were very good at price points of €20-25. It they also have high and wine. The food is fresh. Our server was polite and answered all of our questions, gave suggestions, and made us feel welcome. Out of the 4 restaurants we went to in Rome, this one has the best food, the best service and the most welcoming atmosphere. I recommend it to any wine lover. read more

I had seen an episode of "Off Menu with Katie Parla" and this wine bar was featured. So, my husband and I made a reservation for dinner. What is nice is this wine bar is just off the Campo di Fiore on the Via dei Balestrari; so, it is a quiet location. It is located in the 18th century Palazzetto Giangiacomo. This is a family owned wine bar that started as a wine shop in 1946 and was made into what you see today by the third generation of owners. We went immediately struck by the wood paneled front room when we walked in - this is a cozy, little wine bar where one can sit, relax and have some good conversation over a glass of great wine and be surrounded by wine. It offers an extensive selection of more than 1,000 wine labels from all over the world to accompany a small menu of delicious homemade pastas, etc. The bar is not fancy, but offers a warm and welcoming feeling. We came for dinner. Riccardo, our server, was very pleasant and helpful in guiding us on our wine choices. We sat in the back dining room. As I mentioned, this is a small place, so make sure you make a reservation. We ordered a bottle of water and a bottle of Pinot Grigio from Trentino. Riccardo kindly brought over an interesting amuse bouche - it was 2 tortellini shaped cookie/crackers and several croutons that tasted liked they had been soaked in tomato sauce and baked to a crispy finish. Both were delicious and new to us. For an appetizer, we chose the liver pate with toast points. We were served bread sticks and bread. My husband enjoyed homemade Ravioli stuffed with artichokes and ricotta in a bacon sauce with pecorino cheese - a winner. I chose the homemade Cannelloni stuffed with meat in a Roman broccoli and grana sauce - really delicious and different. My husband had to try a glass of red wine and Riccardo recommended a good one for him to taste. All in all, we had a very quiet and delicious dinner for € 60.50. Excellent wine bar/shop with very good food....very calm and peaceful environment with excellent service and English speaking staff...Extremely knowledgeable bartender who will give you the history of the wine upon request....after awhile you get tired of the typical, popular Resto in Rome where you have to plan out and book your reservation 2-3 days in advance and choose between 7 or 9:30--not here, though they do take reservations. Had a great glass of Italian Merlot along with some great bread, cheese and mortadella...followed that up with a pesto based pasta dish that was light and excellent. The owner Massimo is charming and very knowledgeable about wine and we found some amazing wine choices that we wound up bringing back to the States. Funny story: my fiancee and I could not find this place. As we were looking for it, we passed a traditional enoteca and said it looked like somewhere we'd both want to try. Lo and behold, that was where we were headed (if there is a sign for it, we completely missed it; use your GPS and the street numbers to find it). The staff is extremely polite with excellent English skills. When a spot in an open doorway opened up, our server offered it, rather than leaving us in the darker corner. The view is to-do, but the fresh breeze was excellent. The wine is at odds with the cozy feel, because it is definitely on the more sophisticated side. Their Riesling is closer to a fantastic Chard, and this is coming from someone who dislikes Chards. When I got a second glass, I asked for something similar. The server recommended a wine that equal fruit, but "more aroma." I so regret not getting the name - it tasted like candy fruit, but without any sweetness! I've never had anything like it. My fiancee stuck with beer, but loved the heavy coriander and orange notes on his cloudy blonde. I've not even gotten to the best part: the food! The marinated sea bream, with thin slices of fish and thick shavings of orange peel, was one of the best things I've ever eaten. I would go back for that alone. And the dessert, which was a raw pineapple with passion fruit seeds, pureed cantaloupe, and dried coconut powder, was so simple, but wad light and delicious and a perfect end to the evening. Three plates, dessert, water, bread, and three drinks came to 63 euros. Well worth the expense and the search, in my opinion. read more

Lovely little spot for those who love wine. They have walls full of different wine--Italian, but also wine from other parts of the world. Their wine menu is like a book, full of a vast selection to please any palate. This place reminds me the 'Bar à vin' in Paris that I would frequent, where you could go if you want a wine experience, and not just a glass at any bar. The staff were especially kind, incredibly knowledgable, and happy to chat wine with you to help make your selection. The also have a nice selection of Italian accompaniments for your wine and the staff are happy to help pair up your preferred flavors to get most out of your experience. I'd go if you're interested in sharing a bottle or two, and not just a glass. You have a much larger choice by the bottle. read more

We popped into this little wine cove after dinner to grab a drink. It looked so cozy and warm and the playlist (Buddha lounge and bar music 2017 off YouTube) lent a hip, low key vibe to the space. We stayed for one drink - prosecco for me and we wine for hubby - and stood at the bar in the middle. The bartender/waitress was very friendly and we enjoyed a brief chat with her in between her serving up plates of food. I've taken a group of university students here for a wine tasting and they enjoyed it and found the experience positive. We though it would be a great place. But unfortunately the only thing that was good was wine. If you go for wine that's ok, but please, don't eat anything from there. They are over priced, but that's not they major problem. The real problem is the food is not fresh. They served stale bread, and I told to the waitress and she told me that was her mistake. Then thought to myself why would you still have old bread laying around and also the cheese was not as fresh as I would like (it's because food it's not what they are good or known for ). What the hell does someone keeping a steal bread? There are a lots of great places available, just try another place. read more

Me and my wife tried this place after reading about it in the rick Stevens book on Rome. Food and wine were great, nothing to complain there. But the service was terrible. The older man waiting on us was rude. We had Zero help deciding which wine to choose, good thing I know what I like. And he constantly rolled his eyes and shot us dirty looks during our dinner. This is a small wine bar down a back street off of Campo de'Fiori. I wish we would have found it earlier, as we would've definitely returned for more wine. We had a late, large lunch so wanted a light dinner. The Salumi and cheese plate were outstanding. Charming small enoteca right off of Campo de Fiori. We went there on a quiet Monday night. There were a few tables filled so we sat in the front room near the door. The waiter was friendly and full of suggestions. We like wine but are far from aficionados. I explained we wanted a dry white to start and asked him to bring us his choice. Totally unexpected dry Riesling from up north of Italy. 6 Euro/glass. Did the same thing after we ordered the main courses. A moderate bodied red between 25-40. He asked the owner/head waiter Massimo who chose a delightful barbera for 33. Our dinner was everything you hope for when you venture into the unknown - 5 cheeses to start (I know, so American - but was great), followed by a delicious spinach/almond pesto and three rolled beef tournedos. We finished it off with a small tiramisu with a side of espresso whipped cream (forget your cappuccino, just get this) and a complimentary panna cotta. A great evening with delicious food and wine, totally unhurried. One word: GO. read more
