This place has unsafe practices, do not let your dog stay there. On the 4th day of my dog's stay she refused breakfast, had diarrhea, was lethargic, and threw up combination of bile and blood 4 times before they called me- it was 3:30 and I was already on my way to pick her up anyway. She ended up with pancreatitis and hemorrhagic gastroenteritis and in the hospital for 3 days. After sharing my story with various people in the community, including at her vet office, I was told that they had all heard bad things about this place too. read more

I brought my rescue dog to doggy day care a handful of times, and noticed via the webcam that she was only out playing in the yard for about 1.5 hours and spent the rest of her time in a kennel, crying. The attendants just stand in the yard and look at their phones. No interaction with the dogs and the area for smallish dogs is very small. They raised their prices for very sub par accommodations. I was hoping I would love them enough to board my dog, but there is no way I will leave her there overnight. In fact, I wont be bringing her there again. When I asked more than once why she was only in the yard for a small amount of time, they give you a canned response about rotation and rest. My dog would come home very stressed out. The people at Divine Canine are friendly and flexible. It's very obvious to me that they love dogs.

Unfortunately this place is very expensive for a doggie daycare. With that being said I'm referring to the dogs being kenneled most of the day. I recently took my dog two days in a row, and she had so much energy when we got home. She had to pee before we even got into the car and when we did get home, she drank a full bowl of water because obviously they didn't give her enough. I'm sad because this place is close to home but I will not be bringing my dog back. read more

I've been taking my dog here for a while. Unfortunately today I had a bad experience with a front desk staff member named Renee. I called in 30 min before to see if they had room for daycare, which they did. I brought my dog in and Renee was very mad and said I wasn't on the list. She then asked if I made my reservation for somewhere else. I asked her is this your number that I called. She stated i don't know the number and went ahead and looked to see if they had room. I confirmed the number I called was for divine canine. At this point she stares me down with the meanest look and asks if I still want to leave my dog. Honestly at this point I was a bit worried for my dog's care with Renee but didn't have a choice. I'm hoping this was a one time thing. I'll give them another chance because I know we all have bad days but I hope I don't have to have another interaction like this. read more

I recommend McKenna for grooming! Took my shedding border collie, who has terrible anxiety, to her for a deshed and bath/brush. He was in and out within a few hours, booked less than a week out, and she charged me $45. My pup is soft and smells so good and she got so much hair off of him! She is great! read more

Took our dog for a trial day. We made a reservation with their corporate office, and it did not get relayed to the actual facility so when we showed up, they weren't expecting us. However, they were friendly and took him anyway. He isn't neutered yet, so he had to stay separated from the other dogs which is fair. But the corporate people should have told us that. When we picked him up around noon we asked to see the place. The worker was friendly and did give us tour but said they usually just do tours around 10:30 and again in the afternoon, I think. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO TOUR WHEN NO DOGS ARE OUTSIDE Every single dog was in a cage/kennel. No dogs were outside playing. They go out on a schedule. Out for 1.5 hours, in for 1.5 hours. The big main play area had a sheet of ice between the covered part and the open part, so that play area was closed. We walked through several small rooms with many kennels crammed next to each other full of barking dogs. Stressful for the dogs for sure, I know it was stressful for me! It was like being in a dog pound. Concrete floors, many of the kennel floors were wet. She mentioned that one dog was there for an overnight stay, his floor was wet, and he had one measly little blanket to lay on. Most of them did have water in their bowls in the cages which was good. The worker seemed attached to many of the dogs which was good. But the inside workings of the place ABSOLUTELY DO NOT MATCH ANY OF THE PICTURES ON THEIR WEBSITE. We want a place that our dog will have fun all day. This isn't the place for our dog to go have fun!! read more

Request a tour before booking here. We booked a reservation for 5 nights and the with not having many options left and did a trial the day before our trip. Our dog is 2 years old and is always extremely friendly and full of energy but we watched him on the cameras and he sat in the corner depressed for the hour or 2 they let them out of the kennels. I've never seen my dog this way so I requested a tour when I picked him up and the manager said they only do 10:30am tours during the weeks. I let her know I will not leave my dog for 5 days without seeing the facility and where he sleeps so she decided she could squeeze something in real quick. This day care is far from what the pictures portray and I would consider this facility animal abuse. The kennels are steel cages what looks like 2'x3' with estimated 18 dogs sad and afraid barking in one room. The whole facility smelled like Skid Row especially in the outdoor play area. What is considered outdoors is an astroturf space about 20X15 feet for 12+ dogs to play in. We originally booked this place because of the pool advertised on their website. After watching the cameras I realized our dog wasn't allowed to play with the other dogs in the pool because they charge an additional $12 for a "swim" no longer than 30 minutes. He sat on the cement watching the others play in the pool. The water in the pool is disgusting and not clear like the pictures. There are many outrageous additional charges for example $20 for a 15 minute walk. I'm in the wrong career if a dog walker can charge $80/hour. $15 to play fetch. I felt so guilty leaving my dog there for a day and looked for any other boarding facilities that would take him in last minute. Luckily we found a "farm" style facility where they can run free outside all day and not just 2 hours and they ensure your dog is loving life. I will never leave my dog at any Divine Canine facility. They're a franchise and way more expensive than any where else. read more

I know that they are in good hands there and I get photo updates every day while I am away. Their pool is a HUGE perk if you have a dog who likes to swim. I also have one dog who is not a "dog" dog so her and my other dog get their own yard and pool time and get to sleep in a kennel just the two of them. The Divine Canine really makes your dogs feel special. They truly love our pets and treat them like family. They even sent us a thoughtful card and many treats when one of my dogs passed away a few years ago. There are also lots of fun add ons like treats, pictures and pool time that make things fun. One time they even had a professional photographer there and I got a beautiful portrait of my dogs as well. It is also so fun to watch the dogs on the webcam. I love watching my dogs play and seeing cute pictures posted on their Facebook page during the day. My dogs love it there and I always feel so safe when we board them for trips. At first we loved them but then there were some concerns. I stopped seeing my dog on the webcams and was told they were just letting the boarded dogs out for awhile. Then one day my dog was in her kennel for so long that she chewed up a whiteboard ( from outside her cage) this was very out of character for her. Then she was groomed on a Friday and we asked on Monday that she not be allowed in the pool as she had just been groomed. We picked up a soaking wet dirty dog that day. The manager honored a free bath to rectify the situation but the staff became very rude with us. Do not take your dog here s we were told they can not keep a close eye on your dog due to the volume. Looks like someone bought the franchise to make money at all costs. All hires looked like cheap kids, comparatively clueless and even rude. A "dog kennel factory" sums it up pretty well. Registering on the phone was very professional, as it seems to be a franchise central HQ phone and IT function BUT it was rapidly downhill from there in- person. Inside it just looks like Abu Ghraib - basically bare concrete floors, steel cages, a few howling dogs, mainly empty retail shelving and TV monitor screens. The personal greeting, if you can call it that, was barely perfunctory and cool. Then the simple grooming appointment was delayed by an hour (!) without apology, even when the lack of apology was pointed out. Really? They accidentally bathed our pet, who came out still quite wet. This could have been risky due to certain physical sensitivities. Worse, we explicitly warned that our pet was in pain in one leg from a nail in the paw. After the grooming our pet was clearly limping worse (!) The finale from the still rather oblivious front desk hire was no common courtesy of a "Thanks" when payment was made. Oh well, their pet services are at market price or more but the experience delivered was really dreadful. Best to avoid! read more

I've been a customer for 4 years, with my dog having Tuesday and Thursday play days on a weekly basis. While my pup does look forward to her visits and eagerly leads me in, I started having reservations when ownership changed - over a year ago. This "announcement" was done via a Facebook post, let in the evening. I expressed my concern and was told that the new leadership team would be contacting customers to provide additional information. NEVER happened. There is a revolving door of staff and I have yet to see a member of management. The retail area / front desk reek of cat urine. Drop off in the mornings can be a bit infuriating, as some of the staff will take their time moving dogs from the front to the yard, or there is no one at the front desk. I have to agree with some of these reviews in regards to the lack of customer service / general friendliness, but that does not apply to the entire staff. We recently adopted a puppy and I would like to now take both but I was informed that I could not be accommodated until the first week of April. Keep in mind, that I have been taking my dog here for 4 years. I understand that the would like for us to keep our rescue pup at home for 4 weeks due to him being in a kennel situation; however, now I'm being told that we cannot do an initial new dog meeting until after Spring Break. Again, my dog love Divine Canine, but Mom & Dad have to love it, as well. read more

I brought my new rescue dog here and was welcomed with open arms. They took her for a full day as a trial and gave me a doggy report card when I picked her up that listed what she was good at, social skills, etc. It's clear that they really care about their animals and customers. Really disappointed with this daycare and a particular employee, Erica. I called at 6pm letting them know I'd be five minutes late for a pick up and they said if someone was around they'd help me get my pup. I get there at 636pm, and the employee mentioned is leaving. I politely ask if I could get my dog although it's five minutes and she just flat out tell Me no, they're is nothing she could do. That "cooperate" would get very mad at her. That she also wasn't clocked in. Have some damn humility and help a person out. I didn't have to cash out or anything. She could've just gone right in and gotten my dog, easy as that. I work in downtown Louisville and we pride ourselves on top notch customer service. This was absolutely horrible customer service. In no way did she want to help or extend a helping hand. Divine Canine has been taking care of my little pup since I adopted him a year ago. He loves going there, and always comes home tuckered out and happy! The staff communicates well, the facility is clean, and it's lovely to be able to watch my little guy on the cameras to see how his day is going! I also love that it is NOT a dirt lot, so he doesn't come home dusty and dirty everyday! :) And no place is perfect, but I've looked around, and tried other places, and have had some AWFUL experiences! The play areas are far too small for the amount of dogs they take in every day. My little dog (who normally loves to play) was completely overwhelmed in the small dog area, because there were a TON of dogs, many of them 3-4 times his size. He was miserable, so I pulled him out after only two hours. When I picked him up, he was clearly stressed out (panting and shedding). I will never use this place again. Buyer beware. read more

I cannot tell how disappointed we are with their grooming service. We have an older very hairy dog with a number of medical issues. The first visit Tiffany , the groomer , spoke with me directly and did a marginal job. Their fee was reasonable , we tipped well and made more appointments. Each time the quality of work deteriorated, Our dog has severe allergies that manifested by skin and dander issues . Lastly, I wrote a note to Tiffany around these concerns. She declined to speak with me directly and the poor dog got a wash without ANY noticeable grooming .Two days later my wife together brushed the dog and filled a kitchen garbage bag with dry flakey undercoat. The dog,s paws are filled with hair and his claws are way too long . My dog suffered because of them read more

Never again. We took our dog there for a trial daycare day and given its convenient location (for us) we had high hopes. Our first impression was that the facility was a little tired. Sure, it's a place for dogs, but it is hard to not notice the general theme of a run-down, smelly place. I suppose it's not Divine Canine's fault that there are newer and nicer places in Boulder County, but this is business - you're compared to your competitors. Anyways, we skipped past this and proceeded to schedule a 4 night stay for our dog later in the week, which we later regretted. Our dog has overnighted in numerous kennels and gone to dozens of days of daycare. What made this one different? An eye infection and kennel cough. When I called after our vet visit to let Divine Canine know we wouldn't be returning and why, all I got was a "this has never happened here" and "sorry". No offer to make amends to offset my vet bill. Turns out, in talking to my wife's sister, their dog stayed there in the past and also got kennel cough. I would avoid this place. Paying an extra $3 someplace else is piece of mind that you're unlikely to have to make a trip straight from Divine Canine to the vet to cure whatever infection your dog picked-up at DC. read more
