I've been going to divine for over four years. Mercy, Maggie and their family are such nice people. I really enjoyed going to this small business. I just cancelled my massage package. The absolute nastiness from their new "manager" Amanda's was disgusting. I have never been treated so poorly in my life. I will be back when Amanda is no longer there. Amazing massage!! Words can't explain how I felt after my 60 minute massage with Robert. Happened to find Divine Connections doing a search on a rainy Thursday; I'm so happy I did. I was able to get a same day appointment. I was greeted warmly and felt comfortable immediately. The place was very clean and decorated in soothing colors. Robert was awesome. A very disrespectful manager just called to say they "dropped the ball" and fumbled my appointment but instead of "making things up to me" she had a very accusatory tone acting as if I had done something wrong. My wife and I have gone here a couple of times, and they've been good, but nothing to "yelp" about. Today changed that. I always ask the therapist to work on my back and glutes. Most of the time they do a general relaxation massage, with a couple of extra moments on my back, largely ignoring my glutes. My therapist (Jerrica) didn't do the general relaxation massage. She got up in there, moved my limbs in all sorts of ways I didn't know they could move to loosen up all sorts of other muscles I didn't even know were connected. Today redefined what I now expect out of a massage. It wasn't the most relaxing. It even "hurt" a little bit, kind of like how a great workout will hurt the next day. But I've never felt better after a massage than I do right now. I don't know how else to describe this experience. Skeptical about massage places, not if they are shady or not, but if they provide a relaxing environment while getting a massage. I have been to some fancy places that had amazing decor and have seen places where you could hear the reception desk as if you were behind it. This place is great. The decor and vibe is very nice and relaxing, though it is smaller I felt completely comfortable. The noise level was a minimum and the rooms were very nice. So I was surprised to a massage after a stressful week and this was the place my boyfriend picked. Overall a great experience will be coming back again. Being pregnant, they had experience in prenatal massages basically making sure you and the belly are comfortable throughout the entire massage. I came out feeling very refreshed and sleepy lol. This is such a unique spa compared to anything else that I have been to. First, everyone is really nice, professional, and most of all....good at massaging. I like how they volunteer within the community and donate their time and talent across the Bay Area. I am a teacher and I was introduced to this small business because they came to my school and gave out free 15 minute massages to the staff. Since then, I have been in Twice and received a 45 minute massage, infrared treatment for my muscles, a facial, and a 60 minute massage. I had Amanda last time and her hands are magnets to knots. Trust me, if you need some specialized knot work done, she is your girl. Also, they give teachers a 20% discount (which I truly appreciate).
