I went in to get some cavities filled, but while she was working with the drill she got distracted talking to the hygienist about Morgan Wallen and she ended up cutting my lip really badly. it has left a good size scar. I was numb so I didn't feel it the moment it happened and she did end up telling me after she was finished. said she was going to put some "medicine" on it, she literally only put Vaseline on my lips. This was my first time getting fillings so I didn't know how bad they were supposed to hurt after, it literally felt like someone was rubbing sandpaper on my gums. After the pain was gone and I could feel around my mouth again I noticed that my fillings were not smoothed down to my teeth right so over time some of it chipped off and left rough sharp parts on my teeth which led to them scraping the inside of mouth which led to more pain and scaring. I'm more than likely going to have to get them redone at a different dental office which is going to end up costing a fortune. If you want a dentist who won't be distracted and end up screwing up your teeth then don't go here. read more

MY EXPERIENCE AT DIVINE DENTAL At least eight years have passed. Divine Dental was located, then, behind the Walmart on Old Fort. I spent months looking for a dentist of African culture. I commuted from Shelbyville, TN for my appointments. I was so excited. I quickly, internally, called this practice "dental-a-la-carte." No matter what I went there for, a routine dental cleaning for example, I was going to leave with a bill. I didn't want my blood pressure taken. I didn't want the other a-la-carte services that were deemed "regular protocol," only to end up with the a-la-carte bill. During one dental cleaning, the hygientist was attentive to see a small "dot" on the X-ray. She informed the dentist to review. The dentist said it was nothing. I returned back to work. It was, in fact, something. It was an infection. Three to four weeks passed. On my way to work, there was extreme discomfort. By the time I sat in the seat at my office, I was holding my face I was in so my pain. My office said, please call your dentist. I called Divine Dental multiple times. I was told, "we're booked, we can get you in in a few days." I expressed the excruciating pain I was in. I expressed that I was not able to work. I explained that something was critically wrong. It didn't matter. There was no protocol for emergent situations. I called my former dentist. My former dentist, said "come now, leave now and come." I went; the drive was more than an hour. My former dentist saw the "dot" on the X-ray. She said, she's a newer dentist. That dot was the beginning of an infection. Had the dentist at Divine Dental been more experienced, she would have reviewed it and provided an antibiotic. Because nothing was done, the infection grew. I went immediately to pick up a prescription for the elevated infection. I went through the entire bottle from the pharmacy in less than 10 hours. My former dentist said, come back, the next morning. She said, had another 8 hours passed, you would have been admitted to the hospital -- the infection would have travelled to other areas of your body. I had "all" my teeth. Because of the oversight by the owner of Divine Dental. Because of there being no protocol in place for emergent situations. I lost my first tooth that had to be extracted. Every time I go to the dentist, I think of Divine Dental. Every time I realize I don't have one of my original teeth, I think of Divine Dental. Every time I think of the expense I incurred unnecessarily, I think of Divine Dental. Every time I floss, I think of Divine Dental. Every time I meet someone who says, they go to Divine Dental -- it reminds of the lack of care from the "dental a-la-cart office." Every time I drive down Franklin Road on my way to Franklin, I'm reminded of the trauma from the memory. Thank you for your lack of care. Thank you for being the reason I lost my original tooth. Thank you for not paying all the expenses I incurred. Thank you for the bad memories. I thank my former dentist for caring. I thank my former dentist for also having a filled day of patients, but she could accommodate an emergent situation. I forgive myself for taking months to find a dentist of African culture to specifically support. Never again. read more

I have been going to Devine Dental for many years (3 or 4 times a year) and as most reviews have stated they are friendly. They also try to upsell you at every visit with unnecessary procedures and products. Truly annoying but I overlooked it. If you're completely oblivious to the day and time you'll enjoy the endless appointment reminders. It's beyond ridiculous. My last appointment was for a routine cleaning. The dental hygienist told me about her busy weekend at a wedding in Mexico and her flight back. In the last few days, she had very little sleep. Maybe 4 hours. My first thought was, Great! And you're working on my teeth?! That night, while brushing my teeth my crown fell off. It was on the furthest back molar. I had never had problems with it. I knew the dental hygienist was to blame from the timing of it and her poking and scratching away at it. I called the next morning to get it recemented. While in the dental chair I was asked if I wanted something for pain. Totally took me off guard. There shouldn't be any pain! I was asked twice and declined. Upselling an unnecessary procedure again. Dr Eguakun began by drilling the old cement out of the crown. She then used air to blow the dust out of it. After blowing the dust out she handed it to the dental hygienist who rinsed it off with water before returning it to the Dr. She did this three times. After the third rinse in water, she started drilling on the crown again. I heard a sound that made me think it cracked. I didn't say anything which I regret now. She stopped drilling and blew the dust out of it but she did not rinse it in water? She proceeded to recement it and told me to bite down firmly. Suddenly I heard it. CRACK! I said it broke. What kills me is that she was very aware that she broke it but denied any responsibility. She requested pictures then returned when the dental hygienist completed them. There were awkward short statements to the effect I needed to have it replaced. I finally said, "At no cost to me". She awkwardly said no. After a few moments she said I would get a reduction in cost. She broke it! I was so angry but said nothing. She then asked if I wanted the plan with cost printed out for me. I said no and got up to leave. I just received a bill for recementing the crown. WOW! read more

I will say they gave me an appointment very quickly. The staff and Dr. are all very nice. I had to have all my teeth removed . She referred me to an oral surgeon who did a good job. I then got my full lower denture, three trips back for "adjustments" and it felt ok only problem is I can't even bite off a sandwich. I have only one spot that I can chew. I have to cut anything I'm eating into small pieces. I hate to bother her anymore so I'll just live with it until I can save up money to try another denist. At $1500 it is hard being on social security. I'll never go out to eat as I don't want people seeing me struggle eating. Maybe I'm just one of those people that can't adapt. Again the staff and Dr. are really sweet but the denture was a disappointment. read more

I felt so taken care of! They listened to my concerns & did a fantastic job of clarifying & making sure I understood everything. Very clean & professional atmosphere, up-to-date equipment, friendly staff that seemed happy to be there! The walls aren't just white, there are colors & it is just a very welcoming layout. I wish I got the names of everyone who helped me so I could give them individual shout outs! I am extremely happy with my visit & will be recommending them to everyone! Gave me maladjusted crowns. Said I needed a root canal. I went to an endodontist who said I def did not need a root canal. The crowns are bulbous and have spaces where food gets stuck. You should try some place with 3-d imaging for crowns because this was traumatic and expensive. Nothing better than having to get work repaired by someone else when you have already paid. read more

I was at a conference and had a severe toothache, I called several dentists and no one could get me in. I called Divine and they immediately started to figure out how to get me in that day. I can't tell you how much I appreciated their efforts! My regular dentist finally called me back and I decided to leave early to go home and see my regular dentist. I called Divine back and told them how much I appreciated their efforts and concern! Super friendly staff and easy scheduling. The dentist seemed knowledgeable with excellent bedside manner. Dental hygienist did a great job. I haven't been to the dentist in ages because I have had bad experiences with them in the past. I just came in for a checkup to see how my teeth were doing and to get a cleaning done, but I was pressured by their financial advisor? to sign a contract/financial plan to pay off all the dental work that I needed to get done. I was told that I had one tooth that would "cave in" if I didn't get if fixed soon, but I've known about this tooth needing a crown for more than 6 years and it's been fine. Later on I found out that they had run a credit check on me in order to sign me up for financial aid to help pay off the work I needed. We went round and round in circles before they finally understood that I was only there for a cleaning and checkup and that I was not ready to financially commit to all this other dental work being done! They even said that I could get some of the work (fillings) done that day since the dentist wasn't busy. The other reviews that I have read about staff friendliness were correct, but I will not return to this place because of the pressure tactics to commit to future dental work and payment plans... read more
