She was absolutely incredible. Every single person in my life that might ever need Indian clothing I am sending to her. I grew up in the area but now live in the UK. I knew ahead of time I didn't have a ton of time to find something to wear to a friend's wedding as I was coming into town on Wednesday night and the wedding was Saturday. So from home in the UK I started calling stores to enquire who had my size and would be able to work with me. This amazing angel got on facetime with me and watched me take my measurements and started pulling options. Then when I got into town we came into the shop Thursday when the opened, I tried on a few and picked one. She sent it off to the tailor and it was ready to pick up Thursday evening! I came back Friday at opening, tried it on and had final adjustments made and walked out an hour later with a beautiful piece tailored to me that fit perfectly. Also what absolutely stood out is that I'm a plus sized woman. A lot of places when finding clothes for you look at boxy and oversized things but it was absolutely obvious that she was perfectly happy and comfortable with altering the piece to my measurements to fit me the same way it would fit and look on a straight sized person and that meant the absolute world. So many of my friends had awful experiences with finding clothes for this wedding and I wish I had known because I would have sent them here If I could give her more than 5 stars I would. read more

I went to Divine Glo for my Mother of the Bride Sangheet outfit. I don't have any experience with Indian outfits and needed help. Darshana found a "indo western" dress that was perfect. She is so knowledgeable and helpful. Has so much energy and will honestly show you everything she has and will direct you in the right direction. My family and i have purchased outfits from Darshana the owner a couple of times, but this last time was the last straw! She is overbearing and such a scammer. For alterations, she'll really try to milk you dry. She'll give you an estimate on pricing and when it comes time to pick up your finished product, she jacks up the rate preposterously claiming her tailors "had to do a lot of work" for something as simple as opening up a blouse a bit more or even removing cups. She really pissed my family and I off most recently when we gave her a couple things to alter and told her we were in no rush. Literally a week later she keeps blowing up our phones demanding we come pick up the stuff because she's going to leave for India and wants the money. My family and I have never had someone deal with us so poorly and rudely. My mom also asked to custom design a sequin blouse that Darshana charged over like $150 for and the finished product was shapeless and looked like a part of a Halloween costume. Stay away from this store and its untrustworthy, rude owner. There are so many other stores on this street that are professional and provide decent customer service. read more

Terrific spot to find some great clothes. Great designs, great service, comfortable casual place. She even has a nice small back parking lot for quick pickups & drop offs. I've bought 2 jackets here. First was my wedding jacket. ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS. A stand out jacket after looking at everything in the surrounding shops. We looked at every store in the area & her designs & options were really cool & more original than most. I have a hard time finding a good fit, but her custom designs were great on me. I'm a designer so I'm very specific about certain details and aesthetics. She has a great eye for design, fit & style. Not just a sales person! Second: I needed a distinct & classy jacket last minute for an awards show. I started here with the intent of shopping around. She had some new designs that fit great off the rack. It was so nice and easy. I got a jacket right away & skipped the other stores. Shopping here is a real treat for me. I'll be back for sure. Prices are on par with a quality outfit anywhere else in LA. There are cheaper places & more expensive places, but Twice now I've felt great about the value I got here. Receipt and photos of the saree are included in this review. This is my first time purchasing a saree to wear for an Indian wedding that I am attending. I made the mistake of purchasing from the first store I entered, especially because they seemed so nice. But after thinking long and hard, I feel like I was taken advantage of and/or scammed. Especially because after my encounter with this store, I visited other stores on the street that tried selling me sarees that were $300 and "lowering" their price to $75 when I told them my budget is under $100 since I'm purchasing my second saree due to the mistake here at Divine Glo. Basically, I spent $190 on the saree here at Divine Glo which included the saree and alterations. Now, I do know some things about Indian weddings but I knew very little on how sarees are worn or made. I was too excited to do any research, so my mistake right? When I initially tried on the different sarees offered here, I thought that they were going to make/put something together for me after they took measurements for alterations. I originally thought this because the fabric looked as if it was still in process of being made, ready to cut, with broken edges, and loose thread. So to my surprise, when I picked up my saree, it was still the same exact broken, loose threads, unfinished looking fabric I received with the sloppy stitching of the alterations for the pre-made pleats. The blouse was also coming part as well in the chest area where you clasp it closed. Of course, I didn't notice any of this in store because she had me try it on and take it off right away. Someone was always hovering and I didn't get time to examine everything as I should, especially with my shy personality. I called them that same day and explained the situation. I told her how I lived an hour away so it was quite a drive. She offered to accept it by mail and they would send it to me in two days or that I can drive to them again the next day or over the weekend and they would finish it that same day. I told them ahead of time that I was coming (they were open). No one was there to help me. No sign of the lady who I spoke to. No call back. No one answers the phone when I call. So instead I walked the streets and looked for other stores that sell sarees. I ended up purchasing my second saree that day from an entirely different store that had higher quality material and better prices. What I paid for at the second store does not even compare to what I paid for at Divine Glo. I honestly don't know what I was thinking purchasing from the first store I went into. I feel like I was pressured with their hovering and following me around. I was blinded from all the details. I didn't have enough time to look at what I was trying on compared to the other store I went to. (They let me walk around in peace and discuss and admire the saree on my own). The saree that I purchased here from Divine Glo should be worth $50 due to the poor quality. Everything about the saree is terrible. Loose threads, cheap garments/materials, poorly and altered. Even the under-skirt is attached by Velcro instead of a secure clasp like the other saree I purchased. The fabrics and materials they used makes this look and feel more like a cheap costume than the beautiful dress it should be. Don't waste your money. They have a no return, no refund, no exchange policy. Understood. I tried compromising, but they said because it is altered, it is now mine and cannot be resold. Understood, but the blouse is falling apart so I asked for a different blouse, something more T-shirt like so it would be ready in time since their alterations were so bad. Everything was denied. They offer to re-alter but they don't pick up or help me and they throw their excuse of "that's how it should look" at me. So what do I do when met with such horrible quality and poor customer service? Find some place better. See review for Sari Palace for detailed comparison of my experience, prices, and photos. Side note: they also just threw everything into a plastic bag. Thank goodness for Darshana! After receiving my wedding choli from another tailor and realizing it had been completely butchered and was ill-fitting, I searched Yelp for someone who sounded like I could trust them to do a good job salvaging the piece. Luckily, I found Darshana and went to her immediately after reading her amazing reviews (all the way from Venice - completely worth the journey!). She greeted me with open arms (literally) as soon as I walked into the store, and I knew I was in good hands. Darshana took the time to look closely at the fit of my choli, measured every possible spot that might need to be taken into consideration for the alteration, and got to work on it right away, unstitching the poor handwork herself. She and her tailor worked on it for a couple of hours and had me try it on again to make sure they were going in the right direction, and then they worked all night to finish it by the next morning! Given that they had to completely take apart the blouse and make it again, the turnaround time was incredible. Darshana's compassion, attention to detail, and genuine care for her clients turned what was a very stressful experience into one that made me feel lucky that I had the opportunity to meet her. She went above and beyond, even giving me a bag with which to carry my lehenga choli, helping me find ways to drape my dupatta, and suggesting jewelry to match my mehndi outfit.
