Horrible experience. Do not purchase jewelry from this shop. I spent nearly $1,000 on various jewelry pieces for all of my wedding events with the owner Saba. Then, she entirely ripped me off! 3 out of the 4 sets of bridal jewelry that I purchased BROKE. Unworn, they simply broke because it's not quality AT ALL. She promised to fix the broken items before my wedding trip, but when I went to pick it up at the time that we AGREED on she suddenly said it was not ready!!! I had the broken items appraised by another jeweler and they said it could NOT be fixed. It was beyond repair! When I asked her for a refund or store credit because I knew it could not be resolved, she denied me! I don't live near her store, and she refused to send my necklace back to me through the post. SHE STILL HAS MY MONEY AND MY JEWERY. It's theft. It's unfair. I was a good customer and she failed to fix the set OR refund me. She did nothing to make it right. Beware, this shop owner Saba is nice at first, but her items are not quality and they will break on you, and when they do she will do little to help you or leave you entirely in the dust. Horrible customer service. Horrible business practices. Prices are too high for the lack of quality. Take my advise, go elsewhere. Go to the stores that have customer service and more quality goods. ** addendum to original review. Someone named Raswana helped me out with issues below and called in her tailor to get it done. First, bought an outfit off the sale rack and one staff member told me it was $100. Then when I went to purchase at register, they told me it's $250, so I agreed to pay $200 + tailoring. Tailor took my measurements and gave me an estimate of 3-4 weeks and when I called to check in a couple times during the weeks they promised it would Be ready in time for my flight. Gave them extra days to finish it and today find out it's still not ready and tailor is not there and to come in. After additional insistence, someone is last minute going to work on it, not even the actual tailor. Will never buy from there again. read more

I placed an order for bridal lehenga and groom shervani and it was supposed to be ready in 2 weeks along with groom's shoes and turban. It wasn't even ready after 5 weeks. The estimated delivery for some of the stuff was a day before wedding ( they said shipment was delayed but when I asked for tracking I found out it was shipped a week before wedding from India) . I made 5+ trips as they kept delaying. The stitching was horrible and they took extra time to get it tighten and the tailor did horrible job with measurement fitting. The owner didn't want to work and admit and had the guts to say I'm giving you product a day before at least . I had to spend extra money few days before and buy some of the things from elsewhere . They even stopped picking up my calls at one point. I say AVOID. These people are fake. read more

I love Aanchal's designer gallery! The selection is fantastic, prices are reasonable and most importantly Shams treats her customers with kindness, compassion and respect. It is the best shopping experience I have ever had at a boutique. I am a soon-to-be bride with no family in California. The stress of finding my perfect outfits has been overwhelming, but working with Shams has eased all of my concerns. I found my wedding lengha the very first day I walked into Aanchal's. I was too nervous to purchase it immediately so Shams let me take pictures of it and then she offered to put it on hold for me until I was ready to purchase it. For the next month I would 'visit' my lengha until I was certain it was the one. She never pressured me to buy it during that entire month. She had the confidence that if I changed my mind she would be able to sell it. All of the boutiques on Pioneer should be treating their customers this way, unfortunately they don't. I started that process again with my reception outfit.. and I love what I bought! Now I am working with her on my Sangeet outfit. She is constantly getting new inventory and staying in touch with me. I have been sending pictures of what I have in mind. I have complete faith that I will find the right outfit again with Shams' help. I never review but I felt compelled to because my shopping experience at Aanchal's is unparalleled. Lastly, a comment about prices..Aanchal's are reasonable. Aanchal Designer Gallery went above and beyond to help me pick out the perfect outfit as a guest to an Indian wedding! When I say above and beyond I mean I live out of state (OK) and my connection to their store took the time to give me a virtual tour with the owner! Since they carry such custom, one of a kind, high quality outfits they are not available to browse online. The quick turn around time of their in house tailor was almost as impressive as how well my lehenga fit once it arrived at my doorstep! I highly recommend this store to anyone looking for excellent quality and exceptional customer service at a very reasonable price! Great selection of outfits, awful customer service. We bought a beautiful wedding dress from here (along with matching jewelry and bangles) recently for my sister's wedding, and paid hundreds extra for tailoring. The day we came to pick it up, they hadn't even started tailoring the dress yet. We waited several hours for them to even start the tailoring process and the end result was awful. The zippers on the lengha and blouse were so cheap and broke immediately in-store. They replaced the zipper on the lengha and assured us they fixed the blouse's zipper, too. We finally packed the wedding dress and went on our way. On the day of the wedding while getting the bride ready, the blouse's zipper gave out and it was apparent they hadn't fixed the zipper at all. Luckily we were able to salvage the day with safety pins and creative chunni draping, but it was disheartening after spending so much for such shoddy tailoring. Great outfit selection but please save your money and stress and get the tailoring done elsewhere! read more

We needed to get some desi outfits for the whole family for a July wedding. The owner Shams is very friendly and was able to hone in on our taste preferences and quickly presented choices for two teen boys, mom and dad. Prices were good too. Quick alterations. I usually avoid desi shopping, but this was a favorable experience for me. The shop was busy, but they work everyone in. Spacious and clean dressing rooms is a plus for Pioneer blvd. read more

The owner is very friendly at first then enjoys screwing you over! I should have seen it coming, since every time we visited someone was screaming at the owner. First time was the wrong custom order size for a groom two weeks before the wedding, second and third time were upset customers as well! We brought in my sister in laws mehndi Lehenga here, for some reason my mother liked the owner. First time we visited the owner shams agreed to the tailoring revisions and said it shouldn't be a problem etc and that she would use another tailor who makes magnificent blouses etc so we agreed. Two weeks went by I called and texted Shams and didn't even get a reply: when we called the store they informed us to Come in and try it out within the upcoming week- two weeks late. So when we came in the Lehenga blouse was being sewn by their in house tailor and the sleeves were completely wrong and the blouse was loose and tight in the wrong places- my sister in law is a size two so it's hard to get her measurements wrong. After explaining to the tailor multiple times what she wanted from the blouse and skirt he tailor then agreed and said ok give us another week. Next week we came in and nothing had changed. Three weeks later barely and changes. Finally last time we came they got it somewhat right but here's the cherry on top- they wanted to Double charge us cause we came in multiple times..... Ummmmmm when you agree you can make something... It's your responsibility to communicate it to the tailor AS THE STORE OWNER!!!! Oh and to top It all off the store owners lovely human being of a husband proceeded to yell at us and make fun of us because we didn't want to pay double for their own inner management mistake. It seems like every time I walk into Aanchal I find something I like. I appreciate fine fabrics with minimal embroidery which is hard to find in Artesia. Most Indian fashions are extravagant and elaborate with ornate beadwork, embroidery and other adornments which of course Aanchal offers too if you're a young bride or looking to attend a dressy function. But if you're looking for understated, sophisticated looks, Aanchal carries that too. I have bought at least 4 outfits on a whim and have gotten many compliments on them. In fact my sister liked one so much, she had one custom made made to order. That's another great thing about Aanchal, if you have a concept, they will custom make it for you. They have an on site tailor for adjustments in case you need it. In terms of prices I think they are very fair. Lastly I must compliment the service. They are always helpful and accommodating. I would not have the amount of patience they do LOL. I'd highly recommend checking out Aanchal. read more
