After a long, overwhelming weekend of online shopping, I booked an 11:15 AM Saturday appointment (first of the day). I was very upfront: $100 per outfit, two outfits needed, one for the Sangeet and one for the wedding ceremony, with specific color requirements from the bride and groom. They appreciated the clarity (You might be thinking, "$100???" I fully expect a few eye rolls when my purse strings are tight, there are reasons for it, so I'm especially grateful when someone can roll with my quirks.) I only tried on five outfits and walked out with two. Seerat was incredibly kind and patient, helping me with buckles and zippers when I started to struggle. Lata has a strong eye for color and was thoughtful and compassionate throughout, especially in helping me stay within my budget while still meeting the dress code. I was looking for a lehenga to wear for my friend's upcoming wedding, and was recommended Loveleen by my friend. The staff at the boutique were nice and helped me try on several lehengas based on my color and design preferences. I ended up finding a pretty green lehenga. Although the price was kind of steep ($290 fixed price), I really liked the intricate design and the quality seemed good. The lehenga required several alterations, and I was brought over to this older gentleman standing around in the store, who is apparently a freelance tailor. I arranged with the tailor to meet back at the shop in 2 hours later to pick up the altered lehenga. However, when I showed up at that time, he instead told me "meet me at my house in 10-15 min"...he then handed me his business card that had one address, but he flipped it over and wrote a different address on the back, repeating several times that I should come to his home. I was pretty uncomfortable with this arrangement, but since I had already paid in full and thankfully it was still daylight, I reluctantly agreed and walked a few blocks to the address. When I arrived, I saw that the alterations hadn't even been started. I sat there watching him work for the first 30 min, and then he said to me "I need more time. Please come back in 30 min." I explained to him I had dinner reservations in an hour in a different city and would not be able to return that day, but he continued to repeat himself without acknowledgment. He eventually relented, and he quickly finished the rest of the alteration in 20 min while I waited. I tried on the skirt which was still too large in the waist area and asked if he could make it smaller, and he told me it was impossible and to "trust [him], it's good." Then when he finished the top, he abruptly said he needed to go back to the store, and didn't even wait for me to try it on to see if it fit. While my in-store experience was positive, the rest of the experience was bizarre and extremely disappointing. It's incredibly unprofessional to have me wait 2 hrs in the area, fail to honor an agreed upon time, have me go to a stranger's residence, and then delay the alteration by another hour. read more

Had a great experience at Loveleen! I was greeted and helped the moment I stepped into the store. I didn't know where to start or which outfits to wear as a guest to my first Indian wedding but I was in such good hands here. I told the staff members that I needed an outfit for a haldi/mehendi ceremony and an outfit for the wedding ceremony/reception. I was immediately given lots of options at my preferred price point. I prefer to dress more modestly and told the staff that; they were accommodating to bring me options that acknowledged my requests. After trying several options in store, I left with 2 outfits that were perfect (no tailoring required)! Extremely disappointed with this place. The fact that they have a strict no return, no exchange policy is already frustrating. When I reached out for help, I was met with unhelpful, dismissive responses that made it clear they had no interest in resolving my issue or keeping me as a customer. It's incredibly frustrating to spend money on something only to realize there's absolutely no support if anything goes wrong. While we didn't end up buying our outfits here, the staff here were super helpful. This was our first stop and we really didn't know what we need to buy for attending an Indian wedding. They explained what we should get and what colors we need for each event. They have outfits in all sorts of price ranges. We ended up needing a kurta jacket set, which start at $80, and a lehenga, which also start at $80. Of course the outfits at the starting prices are very simple and the fabric looks very stiff. There was a lehenga I liked at $210. The fabric felt softer and there were much more embroidery and details. There were also kurtas ranging from $45 to $100+. How it works here is they ask what your budget is and they'll recommend things in your budget and they'll try to find outfits that would fit you perfectly so you don't need much alterations. We ended up finding outfits that we really liked at another shop but it was double the prices of what we saw here. So the prices here are definitely on the more reasonable side. They have a small parking lot in the back. read more
