It sucks that I have to give a one star review for just trying to call this place. I have never even got my massage, which is the most upsetting part. Groupon has a promo code off (combined with my ebates) on Divine Massage Therapy $40.50 that drops it down to $32.40. If you MISS the promo deal you would be paying 50cents [not the singer] more, as their regular massage is $40 (cannot show or confirm now, mainly because their website is down). On their "Yelp Deals" they also have a special of $40 for $60. So I safely assume the $20 from their Yelp Deal is to get you to come back for another massage to redeem and pay the difference. Which is clever to get returning business and help save money for customers. However. They almost never answer the phone. I had called to set up an appointment twice. Never got a call back. Never got a text like all the previous Yelpers (I used my cell phone and not a landline). I tried to go on their website to set up an appointment, but its down. Wow. (and not in a good way) You know it's a poor massage when you leave more tense than when you got there. I had the weirdest massage I've ever had. My husband had gotten 2 vouchers on Living Social for Valentine's Day for hot stone massages so we redeemed them. There were so many irritating moments, I couldn't wait for it to be over. First, no hook for clothes in the room, so all went on the floor. The gal was nice enough but seemed very tentative. I asked for deep pressure mainly on my back because I have a lot of knots and have been working out a lot lately. No deep pressure, just these short tentative woosy strokes that made me want to scream. She spent most of the time moving the stones around my arms and back. Unfortunately since I was covered in oil, the stones kept falling off and bouncing on the floor. After awhile I realized I was afraid to move and anticipating the slooooooooow movement of the stones until they slid off. She spent an inordinate amount of time on my fingers for some reason. I was on my stomach for 3/4 of the time and finally turned over feeling totally unrelaxed. The strip of cloth she put over my eyes to keep out light only half covered them. She spent no more than 10 minutes moving the stones around on top of me (they stayed on better on top), did a cursory shallow rubbing of my arms, legs and neck and we were done. I gave her a tip and I'm not going to name her because she was a nice lady, but I would never go there again. To be fair, my husband had a very good massage by Erica, whom he said used her forearms and elbows to dig deep. He looked happy. Grrr. read more

This is another time I wish Yelp offered rating options in half-star increments, because two full stars is 35% too generous My wonderful SO bought us a couples massage -- making the sentiment the far-and-away best part of the experience. Upon arrival, the receptionist was welcoming & friendly. But then, as we were being left in the massage room, she tried to up-sell us ($40 more for aromatherapy). Not catastrophic behavior, but certainly a black mark. My masseuse (Chris??) was mechanical, un-intuitive, and completely lacking in balance. She applied firm pressure where firm pressure shouldn't be applied, and gentle pressure where firmer pressure is warranted. For example: a strongly-applied elbow swept across the side of the ribs is neither pleasurable nor therapeutic. And a light and cursory touch to the rhomboid muscles, where deep therapy is not only frequently warranted, but in my case was requested, was a catastrophic mistake. I could bullet-point a half-dozen more major errors this masseuse made, from ignoring my specific direction to NOT massage my feet, to applying painful amounts of pressure to the forearms, to applying a choke-hold instead of focused pressure during an attempt at a neck massage. And here's a clue, wanna-be masseurs, masseuses, and my masseuse of that night: don't flip muscles or tendons up and over over bone, especially not repeatedly. It's uncomfortable, and not particularly therapeutic. Given that we were shorted by nearly ten minutes in this supposedly 50-minute massage (no need to complain here -- it would have been ten more minutes of stress and misery), I cannot fathom why we were left with oil on us -- there were no hot-towel applications except to the neck and upper chest, nor was a shower offered. The only reason this isn't a solid 1-star is that my SO got a marginally-better massage than I. read more

I was so excited to use this groupon after finishing my finals. I get so tense and lots of knots from being hunched over and stressed while studying. I arrived and the girl at the front desk ended up being my masseuse. She was friendly yet quiet and had me fill out some paperwork. I really took my time explaining my problem areas on the health history form (isn't that what it's for!?). I also stressed how much I like deep pressure. She then leads me into the room and lets me get ready. I was expecting her to come back and clarify/ask about my problem areas and what I was looking to get out of the massage. Nope, not a peep. I then got the most generic full body massage ever. Light pressure despite asking for deeper, not even paying an extra minute to any problem area. Don't get me wrong, the massage was relaxing. But when I come in for a massage, groupon on not, I expect to have a personalized experience. Her less than enthusiastic demeanor did not help the cause either. My boyfriend and I FINALLY redeemed our couple's massage which we got from Living Social. The receptionist is great over the phone and in person! Never had an issue making an appointment or cancelling...and keep in mind we were stupid and cancelled TWICE knowing it cost $25 when you cancel and don't give them enough notice. The place is really small which doesnt really bother me. Its three stars because of my massage experience...let me just cut to the chase...I'm bummed I over tipped them. I think that the two therapist were giggling which totally throws off my state of relaxation! HOW UNPROFESSIONAL! At first I thought I was hearing things but nope. My bf also had the same question for me. LOL take it outside ladies or do it after we're done! All in all, it just dampened my experience because it threw me off. When the massage was ending they also put a towl over our eyes. When the massage was completely over she might as well have yanked it off and threw cold water on my face. Usually, at other places they transition you out of the massage to allow you to regain awareness (since you're supposed to be relaxed). this place had gotten decent reviews on trubates.com, so i decided to purchase a voucher. overall, a very good massage in a clean and quiet room with soft music and dim lighting. i asked for a deep tissue massage, with focus on the legs, and that's exactly what i got. the therapist had very strong arms and hands and kneaded every part of my leg that i requested. she also worked on my neck, shoulders and back. i appreciated that she checked with me on the quality of the pressure during the appointment. at the end, i was given hot towels to wipe off the excess oil. my only slight concern was that she had somewhat uneven pressure at times, sometimes it was good and firm, sometimes it was a bit too much (a little painful), sometimes a bit too light. i would let her know if i ever felt i needed deeper pressure, or if it was ever too much. even so, i still felt that there was some inconsistency in the pressure she gave. also, the appointment making process was a bit tedious, since i had to call several times (during regular business hours) before someone picked up/returned my phone call. overall, this is a good, peaceful place to get a firm, deep massage. read more

Received a great massage at Divine Massage Therapy! I found this place through a Groupon deal. I normally go to the Asian massage places that are like $20-$25 for an hour but was wanting something more this time. I called to make an appointment, but nobody picked up so I left a message. They texted me back to coordinate a time with me which was nice. I was a little surprised to find that it was so hard to find a time that worked! They seemed to be pretty booked in advance. I was able to find a time that worked a week later. I kind of had a hard time finding the place, walked around the whole plaza to find it was tucked away on the second floor of the building. It is a small place, no wonder why it was hard to make an appointment! I forget the name of my masseuse :( but she was awesome! You fill out paperwork before you begin, give them some health information, what you want from this massage, etc. I felt like she really focused on the knots I had on my back. It hurt! But felt so good. At the end they use some essential oil with the massage oil and that was great and relaxing as well. It really was a full body massage. At the end you get a bottle of water too! One thing that bugs me about Asian massage places is how demanding they are about giving them tip (and how much you give them). This place wasn't like that at all, and because of how great I felt after of course I gave her tip even though she was about to let me leave with just the Groupon voucher! Here we go again... I have sent 4 texts in 7 days requesting a massage for a certain set of dates I will be in the Bay Area nearly 4 weeks in advance...still no response. My husband bought me a prenatal massage gift for Mother's Day, and we both made an appointment to go try out Divine Massage Therapy in Los Gatos. It was difficult to make an appointment with this place because they consistently do not answer their phones, although they do try to respond to voicemails after a few days. My coworker also got a voucher to try this place out and said the same exact thing. My husband said that the massage he received was good, however my experience with the prenatal massage was lacking. My masseuse was helpful in asking me how much pressure I wanted and responding to the areas that I requested more attention in, but I walked out feeling like she did not feel confident in the massage and having my problem areas still ache in pain. read more

Eh.. Massages aren't really my thing so I can't compare to many other experiences. I couldn't really relax and was in a fair amount of pain for most of my massage, but the bf almost fell asleep during his (we went for a couple's massage), I averaged out our experiences for this review. However, I do agree with other reviewers that they didn't give you a warm towelette at the end to wipe off the oil, so I had to walk around feeling really greasy afterwards. Since they also gave me a scalp massage, and the massage therapist had leftover oil on her hands, my hair was super oily looking and feeling afterwards too. I also wasn't a fan of the choice of spa music they were playing. Overall, I personally wouldn't come here again, but would recommend you take my review with a grain of salt. I had not problems making an appointment that would acommodate 3 people. My two sisters and I went to get massages today and we all came out relaxed and happy. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. We got our massages at our scheduled time. My masseuse's name was Erica. She was wonderful. She applied just the right pressure. I was there yesterday for a massage with Divina (sp?) and it was fabulous. Scheduling was super easy. I booked a month out with a Groupon because I'm not a last minute scheduling person and I don't expect that from businesses. I received a nice text reminder the day before - this has become a lost art with many businesses so I was appreciative. I arrived on time, she was ready. The massage lasted an hour. Divina knows massage. She started with deep breathing and gently balancing. She found knots and used responsive methods of freeing them up. Her pressure was firm and she checked in many times on the level and how it was working for me. She was able to hit all of my areas of concerns, which was great. The location is quiet and the facility is very clean and upscale. I was given a bottle of water and asked I had any questions. They have a monthly special - $59 a month for a massage for a massage a month, and $109 for two a year. read more

I received a massage here last week using a Groupon I purchased. I never treat myself and have been extremely stressed and needed to relax. I have bad shoulders so I requested medium pressure. The atmosphere is very welcoming and relaxing. The gal that massaged me spent about 45-50 minutes (of my 60) massaging with just ONE hand. I felt too uncomfortable to ask why she was using one hand. There was such little pressure for the most part that it irritated me. When it came to my shoulders she did the worst. No pressure whatsoever. When it came down to the lower part of my legs and feet I finally felt two hands and that was the best part of my massage. I was still relaxed yes but I have received better massages for $20. read more

This is a great place for a nice, quiet massage. It's in a small complex with easy parking. Inside there's a mellow vibe, which is exactly what I look for. I don't want the bright, crowded, rushed atmosphere when I'm trying to relax. The first time I went with my boyfriend. He had Divinia and said it was one of the best massages he's ever received. At that time I was under a lot of stress and was a ball of knots. The masseuse (I don't recall her name) used a lot of pressure and worked out the knots. It wasn't always relaxing because I was really tight, but it was exactly what I needed. When I left I felt like I could stand up straight again. The second time I met with Divinia and she was also great. I was less stressed this time so I had the opportunity to have more of a relaxing massage. She targeted the areas that obviously needed to be worked and I left feeling so relaxed I almost felt tipsy. Two things to note: 1) don't get there too early before your appointment - if your appointment is outside of normal business hours and they're with clients they lock the place up and you may have to wait outside until they have finished those sessions. And 2 - it's a small establishment so you may have to leave a message and get a return call to book. They're very professional about returning calls quickly. The hot stone massage was wonderful. The rooms are clean, fresh. Massage is a very 'subjective' thing -- seems everyone wants a different touch, style, etc, and they're influenced by whatever they've had at other places in the past as to what they expect... I was pleasantly surprised, after reading the reviews, with my experience there. I had a voucher for a stone massage. I am not a big fan of stone massage, because as someone mentioned, they keep falling off. The office was clean and decorated nicely. My therapist, Divina, was very sweet and professional. I liked her massage. She used her hands a lot in addition to the stones. The pressure was good. She did not talk through the massage. She left two warm, moist towels and and a dry towel to remove the oil. I scheduled to go back again for a regular massage. The price, $70 an hour, is extremely low for Los Gatos. I don't know how they can make a profit. I gave them five stars because I appreciate the value they offer for such a low price. read more

I purchased a Trubates for a couples massage & took my sister with me as we are both expecting a child. We were advised to arrive early to fill out our paperwork & disrobe; the receptionist was super friendly & the atmosphere is very tranquil, as expected. They have a small TV on; it's not on any regular TV channel, it's about different types of massages, etc. The music is soothing & they have a little water fall thing on one of the tables. We filled out our quick questionaire & were guided to a little room in the back, since we are both pregnant the receptionist provided us with the pillows we needed as we obviously couldn't lay on our belly's. We relaxed in the room under the sheets for a few minutes before our therapists came in; mine was Janet, i forgot the other woman's name. I asked for medium pressure & i received it; she worked on my back, my arms, my legs, and my feet on both sides. Once she did both sides, she did my scalp. The oil or the lotion they use to rub you with smells good, it felt really good. My sister fell asleep, I just laid there & enjoyed it. They do put something over your eyes so you are in total darkness. The music was also nice & they don't talk to you at all, which is instrumental for me!
