I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Devine Nail Spa in Haymarket, and I absolutely will not be returning. Before coming into the salon, I called specifically to ask about pricing. I was quoted $50 for a full set and an additional $10 for French tips. Based on the prices I was given directly by the salon, I decided to bring my daughter with me. My daughter wanted French tips, while I wanted a cat-eye design. Once we were actually in the salon, however, the pricing and service were completely different from what I had been told over the phone. My nail technician was Kevin. While Kevin was doing my nails, I specifically told him that I did not like how they looked and wanted them changed. Instead of listening to my concerns and correcting something I was clearly unhappy with, he refused to change them. Despite me expressing that I did not like my nails, I was still charged $90 for my set. My daughter was charged $82, and she DID NOT even receive the French tips she originally wanted. When I questioned the pricing, I reminded them that I had specifically called before coming in and was quoted only $10 additional for French tips. I was then told that the French tips my daughter wanted were somehow "special" and that her nails would have been approximately $100 if she had gotten them. That explanation made absolutely no sense to me. If there are different types of French tips that can turn a $50 full set into approximately a $100 service, that should have been clearly explained when I called and specifically asked about pricing. A customer should not be quoted one price over the phone and then encounter completely different pricing once the service is being performed. What made the situation even more uncomfortable for me is that I am a Black woman. I cannot say with certainty what motivated the difference in treatment, but after being quoted one price over the phone and then being treated and charged so differently once my daughter and I arrived, I genuinely left questioning whether our race played a role in how we were treated and priced. No customer should ever leave a business feeling that way. My problem is not simply that the salon is expensive. A business has every right to establish its own prices. My problem is the lack of transparency, poor customer service, refusal to listen to a paying customer, and unexplained difference between the prices I was quoted and what I was actually charged. Between the two of us, I paid $172 -- $90 for my nails and $82 for my daughter's. My daughter didn't even receive the French tips she originally wanted, and I left with nails that I specifically told Kevin I did not like and asked him to change. I have attached photos of the finished nails, so anyone reading this review can judge the work for themselves. Do these look like two sets of nails you would expect to pay $82 and $90 for? Because I certainly do not believe the finished results reflect those prices -- especially considering what I was originally quoted. I DO NOT recommend Devine Nail Spa. If you would like to waste your money and potentially leave feeling frustrated and unheard, then this may be the place for you. But if you are looking for a reputable nail salon that provides great customer service, is transparent about its pricing, respects its clients, and actually listens when a customer expresses dissatisfaction with a service they are paying for, I strongly suggest finding another establishment. There are too many nail salons in the area to spend your hard-earned money somewhere that leaves you feeling overcharged, disregarded, and questioning whether you were treated fairly. Look at the attached photos and decide for yourself whether this looks like $172 worth of nail services. I certainly will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I've come to both locations for years but have gone to the DVCC one since it opened. I went to this location due to my fiance accidentally scheduling here- as he had surprised me with getting my nails done. In the past, they've done a wonderful job. This time i got my nails done by an unfamiliar to me lady. I have small hands and asked for thin french with chrome- i had to keep requesting for her to make it thinner, bc the white looked like it was sharpie thickness. She applied the chrome quickly and in some spots its very concentrated so it doesnt look smooth. She was about to finish but two of my nails were tipped magenta? Im assuming from something being mixed with the chrome- not to mention all layers were hastily put on and is all clumped up by my cuticle so, 2 days later, they are peeling up from there. As she was cutting my cuticles in the beginning, she made them bleed and didnt pay much mind to it beyond alcohol on a cotton swab. When i asked her why my nails were magenta/bright pink hued.. she took a motorized file to those problem nails and sanded off the polish on my natural nail, but did so that as she was filing it off, it burned and hurt and my nails are super sensitive. Again she didnt so much as look at me as i flinched. My fiance was even like are you ok??? As he had stayed to chat with me. I honestly felt punished for pointing out her mistakes. It's Tuesday now, a week and a day since I got a full set liquid gel. Two nails broke within 3 days. I got it repaired for free but of course tipped. Since then, both of my thumb nails have broken off and my middle finger nail that had lifted yesterday is completely off (with some assistance from me). I went with the intent to get a gel overlay on my nails which were a nice length, but my thumbs had split on the side. Julie advised me that my nails were strong and I only needed gel polish and my thumbs and one ring finger fixed. She then cut my nails to a short length and asked if that was ok. While I wanted to preserve my nails I didn't mind the shorter length. After one weeks time, all of my real nails split in the area just before the nail grew away from the finger. I was careful in how I did things in hopes of getting to the nail salon to have the issue fixed. I was spoken to without any level of concern as to what happened and asked to come back. We really like this nail spa...they are clean and the nail techs are good. We have gin here several times at this point. I am a guy and only had one manicure but I've had two pedicures done here... My wife on the other hand has had several manicures done. She really like Jenny who is super personable and very friendly. I do not recommend this place. I came here to get my proposal nails done, and I'm severely unhappy with them. I'm getting proposed to at a race, so I wanted to get the checkered flag on my ring fingers, and they look like trash. My nail tech rushed the entire time I was there, and I was there for two hours or more. She didn't get my nail shape right, didn't file my nails straight, etc. Every-time I mentioned that something needed to be straightened/shaped more she would get frustrated with me and blamed it on my fingers. She kept complaining to me about how long my nails were taking as well. Now instead of having nice fairly simple nails for my proposal day, I have some coffin shape, some square shape nails with trash looking checkered flags. I spent $100 on some half-ass nails. I keep hoping for the best and I keep going back like a fool only to have my nails look worse and worse. It's like I'm throwing my money in the trash. My nails are never straight. The nail tech always skips about four steps and thinks I don't know. The nail techs rush through the process. My nails are crooked, and look thick and cheap like a kindergartener did them. I see the other pictures too of what people are posting, those nails look horrible too. You all need to go back to Nail Tech school. I think there needs to be a petition in our neighborhoods and boycott these nail salons. I think they believe the salons are so close we don't want to drive far away. May 30th 2019 not happy So here's an update. My nail tech left. I have only been twice since. Helen did my nails once and my mani lasted 4 days. She did a good job. Went yesterday. Made an appointment for 4:30. Had a basic pedicure and manicure $47 which to me is way over priced. Anyway, the nail tech left me and I had to wait 10-15 minutes for a different tech because she had another appointment. And this is the result not even 24 hours later. I think she used a crappy top coat. Looks like I will be looking for another place in Haymarket/Gainesville. read more

The salon is beautiful and they have the largest selection of gel polish in the area. I have had amazing pedicures there. As far as my UV gel fill & manicures I haven't had luck. I've given them 3 tries and the first 2 my nails looked awful, bumpy polish & uneven. This last time my nails look decent however the tech cut EVERY single cuticle and made 4 fingers bleed. I kept telling him it hurt while flinching but he didn't stop and once he was done he kind of laughed and said I was bleeding. I asked if he could at least put on cuticle oil and he said yes but he forgot so I had to remind him again. I've gotten UV gel for 5+ years and never had an issue with my cuticles. It's also quite a pricey salon which I would be fine with if my nails came out looking fab. I don't think I will be back. read more

Came in to treat my tired feet to a much needed pedicure. Had an appointment and I'm glad I did because they were decently busy for a Thursday. The spa pedicure was very relaxing especially with the super comfortable massage chairs. The whole process took about an hour and the lady did the pedicure was very diligent with my feet. But favorite part had to be the scrub that she used to soften my legs and feet. I also throughly enjoyed the paraffin wax. After it was over my feet felt a million times better. The entire facility was very clean and inviting. The decor has a nice tone and I like the modern look. The staff was pleasant and professional the whole time. They did a great job making sure I was comfortable and happy. The price for my treatment was well worth it and I would highly recommend this place to anyone that needed their services. Writing on behalf of my mother who is 85 yo. She had an appointment last week, showed up only to be told that the Technician (Toni) was out sick. They asked her to come back to which she replied "no" as i'ts a 25 min drive, she had a confirmed appt and her schedule did not allow for another trip. Conversations happen between technicians and she is left just standing there. Again, she asks for service which she then receives from a clearly agitated employee. Very unprofessional and as a result, my mother (a long time customer) WILL NOT be returning to this salon. IF you are running a business and an employee is sick, your front desk staff needs to start calling customers to reschedule. Note that the front desk is staffed by high schoolers who are paid very little and clearly are not receiving clear instruction/direction by Management. Further, IMHO, Management should start visiting their salon to oversee their employees, their actions and provide training where needed. If you keep treating customers in this manner, folks will just stop coming. read more

Finally bit the bullet and went to get a pedi and so glad I did. I chose one of the spa packages and also glad I did. Felt great, and was very thorough (Cindy was my nail tech). Nails look amazing and was one of the most relaxing pedis I've had in a long time. They are also very COVID conscious. Plexiglass between you and tech as well as mask and gloves. I've been seeing Bingo at Divine Nail Spa for about a year. I moved to Haymarket from Manassas City, far enough that it's no longer convenient to see my long-term nail tech of three years (or more). I called Divine, asking for their most meticulous nail professional. I am so unbelievably picky, as my mom was a beautician and taught me what to look for. It's always a toss-up do when I find someone good, with attention to detail, I am fiercely loyal. Bingo was amazing from the beginning, so patient with all my nitpicky requests. His attention to detail is beyond my wildest wishes! If you want someone skilled at dip powder and gel manicures, please go see Bingo. He is amazing at his craft and just a super nice guy as well. The attention to detail while getting a pedicure is everything! 10/10 definitely my favorite spot in Haymarket

I'm not usually the type to leave a review even if I didn't have a good experience there... but when it got to the point where I left there crying I felt that I should write this so no one else has to experience what happened. I went in for a manicure with dipping powder ON MY REAL NAILS and right off the bat they told me I had fake nails on.. I said "No ma'am these are my real nails I promise " the First Lady tried to tell me 2 more times that I'm lying and that I have acrylic nails on. Then she started using the drill for acrylic nails on my real nails... by the third time I had to pull my hand away because it hurt so bad the first lady dropped her towel put her hands up and walked away saying that she wasn't gonna do it anymore. She then got two other nail techs to come over and try to tell me that I had fake nails on. Eventually when they got the polish off of my nails they could see that it was my real nails and at this point I could notice that the drill she used on me had RUINED my real nails. She then switched me off to another Nail Tech Who would ask me how i would like my nails shaped and what way I want it done when I told her she ended up doing a completely different shape and way. When I asked her if I could stay with my original shape like I asked she got she got visibly frustrated and rolled her eyes and didn't want to do it. At this point I still made sure to use my manners so please and thank you even though I was getting disrespected and made fun of. When I got up to wash my hands my best friend noticed that they were making fun of the way that I was pulling my hand back in pain and making fun of the way that I asked her to change my nail shape to the way I wanted it. When I went up to wash my hand I noticed that my nails were so broken and damaged FROM THE DRILL that there was no saving them. This has never happened at another salon where I walked in with perfectly healthy nails and I had to walk out with jacked up, messed up, broken nails. At this point I got so overwhelmed and asked if they can put on Tips please because my real nails were so damaged. (I was willing to pay for the tips and everything.) The lady threw her towel and said that's it I don't do long nails got up and walked away from me. At that point I was on the brink of tears because I was not understanding what I did to be treated with disrespect or why I was being made fun of for so I left. I stopped in here 2 years ago for a quick pedicure and have been hooked ever since! Annie does such a wonderful job with liquid gel nails & gel pedicures; she is always so welcoming and concerned whether I'm relaxing! When Annie is on vacation, Trish is my go to- same great service and attention to detail & excellent customer service. You get what you pay for, which is why I don't have an issue with their prices; not to mention I pass 20 different nail places on my way. Well I've been going to Jenny for a couple months now and she's always done a GREAT job. I always get French with liquid gel to make sure my nails last and they don't chip. I come back 3 weeks because that's what she tells me and this last time I don't know what happened but my nails chipped and turned yellow... I'm very upset so I called the owner to express what happened and she told me that she had to call Jenny to "make sure I wasn't lying" and they just brushed off my concern. I'm very upset and will NOT be returning. I don't pay 50$ a refill for my nails to do this. read more
