This was my first time. I asked for a regular Manicure and the girl asked me to pick my nail polish. When I finished she charged me the price for Gel Nails because the guy who painted my nails didn't know that I just wanted a regular pedicure. This wasn't my fault! I never used gel before how could I know that the Receptionist didn't tell the guy what I wanted? Usually love this nail salon. Came in today for a gel mani and the technician I had, Jenny, rushed through my service like crazy. I was in and out in under 20 minutes and yet she charged me $40. The color is nice but my nails and cuticles look super sloppy. It's a good thing I have my own cuticle nipper at home. Really disappointing for the price I paid and the fact that I was given such poor service as a pretty frequent, regular customer. Julie, Henry, Annie, and Tony are great. I've been coming to this nail salon at least monthly since they opened. Ann is absolutely amazing, she is always sweet and friendly, and treats me with respect every appointment. Ann works quickly but is a perfectionist when it comes to making sure it's exactly how I want it. She's incredibly patient with me when I'm indecisive about my color choice (which is every time haha), and will take the time to even mix colors together to get the shade I want! Tony does my picky teenager's acrylic nails and she loves it every time. We love going in to relax and unwind, as it's a very soothing and relaxing environment, unlike other nail salons I've gone to. I have had overall good experiences at this salon. Very clean, very relaxing, and always beautifully decorated. The one thing that I've noticed is that even with an appointment you will have to wait for a while. A lot of the time if they say "we will be ready for you in 5-10 minutes" and you will most likely wait for 30 minutes. Overall I would recommend, but not on a tight schedule. read more

I visit here routinely to get my acrylic nails done and love them! Upon reopening I was happy to find that they require all customers to wash their hands immediately upon arrival as well as record your temperature for safety precautions. The salon is also very clean and has dividers between the nail techs and customers. This is not new for them though - the salon has always been extremely clean and well kept. read more

I went there for powder pink & white french & they said I had to get acrylic which I don't like. I had an appointment not just a walk in. Also very rude during entire process & their prices are $70 for this acrylic mess they made. I had one of my granddaughters with me & her full set was also $70. Plus tip. They kept saying how natural it looked but it's just ugly. I was visiting here & will never use them again when here. I took my other granddaughter to another shop & same process was $58. This place is a SCAM & SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN! Worst nail salon ever! Horrible customer service, liars, thieves, and incapable of simple nail art. I showed them a picture of the Christmas nails I wanted (very simple diagonal red lines on white polish to resemble a candy cane) and they told me they could do it. Once they painted my nails white they told me they couldn't do the design. What a scam! They waited till I got my nails painted to tell me they couldn't put the design on my nails so I wouldn't be able to say "Never mind, we'll go elsewhere for our Christmas nails." After persisting that I wanted Christmas nails (which was the whole reason for going to the salon), they attempted it. It looked like a child scribbled on my nails. It was a joke. They apologized and sent me to another lady they claimed was good at nail art. She was just as bad. When we asked for a discount, they offered to have a 3rd person try. At that point, I just wanted to leave. We spent a couple hours there and we were frustrated. How many "professionals" should I have to go through to draw simple horizontal lines? It's not like I sprung the design on them last second. I asked ahead of time and they said they could do it. You would think, they would send me to the person who could do it first, if anyone could do it at all. I ended up with plain white nails, which I could have done myself without shelling out hundreds of dollars. While all this was happening with me, I was asking employees to help translate for the guy my poor mom got stuck with. Her guy did not understand English at all. Every time we asked someone to help her, they all just spoke amongst each other and ignored us. My mom chose a preset "cat eye" mani design in red that they had at the front desk, which both the front desk lady and manager told her no problem. They got her started on her pedi. After 20 min of back and forth amongst 5 different employees (bc her guy didn't speak English), they told her they couldn't do the red "cat eye" mani that she wanted. Again, THIS PLACE IS A SCAM. They waited till the rest of us started so we wouldn't say "Never mind, we'll go elsewhere for our xmas nails." After the 5th person I asked did not help my mom, I had to get up in the middle of my nails getting painted to try to help my mom myself. Ridiculous right?! She was so frustrated with asking 100 times for a beautiful Christmas design that she just ended up with plain red nails just bc she wanted to get out of there. Again, something she could have done herself without shelling out hundreds of dollars. I'm all about supporting every type of businesses out there, no matter their race/religion/learning English, etc, but not one that disrespects their customers, are not professional, can't communicate in English whatsoever, hikes up their prices dramatically without updating their online or in store prices, leaves you walking out the door so angry, and still forces you to pay hundreds of dollars for their "service". They charged us the same pedi price for my husband that they did for my mom & I. Um, he's a guy, he didn't get nail polish. Why would they charge the same exact price for doing way less work. This salon is a scam. My mom didn't get what she asked for. I didn't get what I asked for. And my husband was completely ignored, and left the salon before we were even done out of frustration with the whole mess. He took time out of his work schedule to relax at the nail salon with my parents that just flew in to visit us for Xmas. He waited for over an hour after they did his pedi. They claimed we didn't book it even though the person I booked the appointment with over the phone repeated exactly what we asked for. The front desk lady gave us attitude and said "it doesn't say in our books that your husband wanted a pedi!" And that's our fault?! They tried to use the excuse that they were busy, but the place was half empty. When we asked for a discount, 6 employees ran up to us and bullied us. Apparently they had no problem understanding English at that moment when it was convenient for them. We are NEVER returning to Divine Nail Spa on Merchants View Square in Haymarket, VA. We will tell everyone we know about our horrible experience. People deserve to be respected, especially when they pay for a service. Customers should not be tricked into paying for something they are promised they could do then later told they can't do when it's too late and you're stuck paying a bill you never would have paid for had you known up front they couldn't do anything you asked for. This was the worst place I have ever been to!!!!!! I went to this location because of the reviews!! I scheduled an appointment for a gel full set and pedicure. I just wanted to relax before my business trip. I had Julia work on my nails, she worked on my pedicure first and at first it felt rushed, it made worry about the out come. Once she finished I looked at my toes and I could see my left big toe polish look messy. I brought it to her attention about 2 times and she said that it was not. I was getting upset, but I let it go because I didn't want to argue with her. She then proceeded with my full set keep in mind I had scheduled for a GEL FULL SET. She ended up doing acrylic nails with gel polish once I brought it to her attention she said it was to late. I have gotten my nails done before and I know there is a process to them. After she filled my nails she NEVER ASKED ME TO RINSE MY HANDS to remove the dust particles and she just put the nail polish on top. I once again brought it to her attention and she said it was fine, I could see the dust mixing with the polish making it look lumpy! I told her again and she just continued to layer on the polish thinking it would fix it. My polish was so thick at this point!! She then started calling over her co workers and and Dan got in my face and started yelling at me and stated that "You don't know, I am the nail technician here, don't you think I know what I am doing? I've been doing nails for years unlike you. If you knew what you were doing you would be doing your nails at home instead of coming here and getting them done." I have NEVER been treated the way I was in this location or ever in my life! They then proceeded to speak in their language, and I told them I didn't feel comfortable because I knew they were talking about me. I felt so attacked they caused me to get emotional! ( I never once raised my voice) I then called the next day to speak to the manager, but she would not speak to me and I had to speak with the front desk from their other location in Haymarket. The young lady who spoke to me told me that they would give me a refund. So then I made way to the location where I got my nails done. Once I was about two minutes away, they gave me a call back and the young lady told me that they would give me a refund only if I took down the review that my sister-in-law had posted. By this point I was so upset that they made me drive all the way back and told me that in return for a refund I needed to take down the review. Are you kidding me? My nail polish only lasted for about three days that's how terrible it was. I normally go to a nail salon in Ffx. I get the liquid gel fill instead of acrylic so it's tough to find a salon that does this service. I was at Giant and decided to run over and see if they could do the gel and fit me in. Lynda squeezed me in. And I'm beyond blessed that she did. So nails are nails right? Not really. Lynda was Fantastic. I like mine short and natural. She did a great job. I'm super happy. Usually I get what I get. Not today. She listened, asked questions and the result is exactly what I wanted. But let me share why I'm thrilled about this entire visit. Not only did I get an exceptional manicure, I seriously just made a wonderful new friend. Everyone at this salon is friendly and nice. Lots of happy eye smiles and kind gestures. And Lynda was truly a kind and sweet person. She is one of a kind. The shop is tastefully decorated and comfortable. Not the usual chaos of a nail salon. I'm so glad I spontaneously stopped in on this rainy day. I love my nails. Love the vibe. Love the people. I'll be coming here from now on. read more

I had a wonderful pedicure here today! Lisa was my technician and she did a very thorough and immaculate job on my feet. I run for exercise and end up on my feet a lot during the day so my feet take a beating. One of the things I appreciate most about Lisa is that she understood my need for short toenails given my running as she also walks and runs and knows first hand that longer toe nails and running aren't a good mix. I added a callus treatment for my heels and that was great, but what strikes me most about this salon is how clean it is. As a licensed cosmetologist myself I have first hand knowledge of the safety and sanitation regulations for operational compliance. The place is immaculate! And none of this is to mention how beautiful, serene, and comfortable the salon is; they have seen to every detail! I will definitely be going back and I'll definitely ask for Lisa again, though it appears that you'd be in good hands with anyone there. I've been a loyal customer at Divine Nails since they opened in 2015. They've adjusted to COVID requirements requiring all customers to wear face masks, sanitizing stations after every use, requiring all customers to wash their hands prior to selecting a polish. They also take each customer's temperature (touchless thermometers) when they sign in. They've installed plexiglass 'shields' at the front desk as well as at each technician's station. I feel comfortable and safe having pedicures and manicures since they reopened. If you've hesitated having your regular mani/pedi since COVID - hesitate no more!!
