I'm giving this company two stars because it was great working with them and they are reasonably…read morepriced, but paying that much money for a concrete slab that has already started cracking and has many hollow spots that have now chipped away (after only two months in place) is just ridiculous. On top of that, there is no warranty to their work. You get what you get. I've worked in the construction industry a long time and have seen a lot of concrete poured and I've never seen anything like this happen so quickly. It's unfortunate.

I have several good friends in the structural engineering business and I polled them to get a list…read moreof vendors for a driveway project at my home. I reached out to four different companies for bids include Larry Holt at Holt Concrete Works. The responsiveness for two of the other companies was not good. I eventually got numbers but had to call multiple times to follow up. The third company was solid and came back with their price for the job. When I reached out to Larry, however, the responsiveness was unequaled. Not only did he answer on the first call, he arranged to meet me at my house later that same day. He then delivered a quote by the next morning that was competitive (the quotes all ranged from $17K to 20K) and we agreed to a start date and a targeted end-date. Throughout the project Larry and his team were completely professional and Larry remained very easy to reach. We made a couple of changes to the project as well and Larry took it all in stride and still delivered (in spite of several rain days) on-time with no price changes. I would definitely recommend Holt Concrete Works to anyone looking for residential concrete work in the Austin area. As we were sold a 'lifetime warranty', we attempted to contact our original general contractor and Tex Tar directly. Neither responded to multiple inquiries. Since then we've had the shower repaired by another contractor, which revealed some questionable craftsmanship and build choices. Buyer beware here. I am still fully willing to discuss this review with either Tomberlin Painting and Remodeling or Tex Tar, but y'all gotta call me back.
