i went through the drive thru, and the customer service from the employees was fine. however, i could hear someone in the back, who i believe was the owner, yelling at one of the employees. it seemed like she may have been upset over a mistake, but regardless, that's not how you treat someone you've employed. if you have to yell that loudly to get your point across, then maybe that person isn't the right fit for the job. either way, there's no excuse for treating people that way. she was also clearly distracting the other employees, which caused orders to come out very slowly. do better read more

A little slow, but the coffee was good.. IF YOU ORDER HALF SWEET OR LESS. I ordered one of the specialty lattes, half sweet and it was extremely sweet. I asked to make sure that they made it was 1/2 sweet and the employee assured me it was. The employees were friendly and overall I would recommend. read more

"I'll have whatever she's having, please." ....Is the first thing that crossed my mind as I was greeted by the unusually energetic and enthusiastic barista manning this drive-thru coffee stand that sits towards the back of a hardware store parking lot. After all, it was only slightly after 7 am and she seemed like she had just got done conquering the world and was eagerly awaiting round 2. Anyways, Dixon's was the place I went to get my last morning cup of coffee from on my recent trip to Rapid City and it did not disappoint. The golden milk with the added shot of espresso was very good and incredibly soothing. Just what I needed too, since I think something in the air on all those hikes was starting to affect me. Cute little coffee shack near the freeway. Pulled up about 7:30am on a Sunday. No other cars. Employee came right to the window and took our order. We got 2 large espresso frappes with caramel, a large strawberry fruit smoothie and a blueberry bagel with cream cheese. $27.68 Fast service! While we waited 2 other cars pulled up. There's 2 sides to the shack so they were able to help one other customer at the same time. Their bagels are from Black Hills bagels (another local place I wanted to try but didn't get over to) The bagel was delicious!! Toasted with cream cheese. The frappes were great! Solid espresso flavor with a hint of caramel. Didn't taste bland. We loved them! My daughter also really enjoyed her smoothie! She got strawberry but they also have peach or mango. Visited here from out of state, my fiancé and i ordered an decaf quad mocha and a iced white chocolate americano ... my fiancés drink (mocha) was delicious and made me excited to receive my drink, and that's when the disappointment starts. First a hot americano was made .. and we corrected and said it was supposed to be iced. Then an iced one was made but it wasn't a white chocolate americano. We then returned and stated to the two baristas that the second drink was made incorrectly, and asked them to please correct it and stated what was originally ordered. No cream was offered to put in there and as a barista myself that blows my mind. The third drink made was EXTREMELY watery and spilt all over when we drove away as the americano was way too watered down. Just a heads up to this coffee stand - work on your customer service and smile. Second - listen to what your customers order so you don't have to waste espresso. And third - don't add water to your flavored americanos. read more

Cruising through for a wedding and found this cute little coffee shack! The staff was so nice and friendly they will definitely be seeing me all weekend. The large majority of the menu are lattes with different flavors in them. There's nothing wrong with that, just don't expect a variety of coffees (e.g. macchiato, cortado, etc). On the other hand, the flavor selection is extensive with a lot of sugar free options. They also have frappes! I got an espresso frappe with lavender, and my husband got an iced chai. Both were a bit too sweet for my taste, like an overpowering artificial sugar kinda sweet. I'm definitely asking for half the syrup next time. My husband's chai was also mostly ice. Otherwise, not a bad experience. Service was fast and friendly. The main advantage Dixon has is that they are drive-thru (with 2 sides!), which not all coffee places have around here. I stopped by here this past Wednesday morning with my wife and her parents for our morning coffee. We had found Dixie Coffee on Yelp due to its high ratings and decided to head over. It is what I call a coffee hut that is located in the parking lot of a strip mall near a major intersection. That means that it is a drive-thru only type place with windows on both sides to place your order. On the morning that we came here, there were 3 younger ladies working the place. They seemed to be enjoying themselves too as the music was loudly playing while we were there. In any case on this morning I went with my usual large (24 oz) Americano while my wife and her mother went with small Americanos. The wait for our coffee seemed to be a bit longer than usual for a place like this and the lady behind us in line actually pulled out. Once my coffee had cooled down enough to taste it, I did. My first sip wasn't that great but as my palate adjusted, i really enjoyed it. It started off with a good coffee flavor before finishing with a sugary flavor. Since no sweetener had been added to the coffee I have to assume it was its natural sweetness which was great. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. My coffee was good and it looked like the employees were having fun as well. read more

This was such a cute coffee stop with delicious food and drink!! I would come here again and again if I could. I found this place through Yelp and stopped by on an early Monday morning, not totally knowing what to expect. Everything is served in drive-thru fashion. It wasn't too long a wait in the drive-thru line, and we got two breakfast sandwiches, a 16 oz. iced chai latte, and a 16 oz. iced black coffee. The breakfast sandwiches were made of a biscuit that had bits of bacon in it, and the biscuit sandwiched a slab of egg and cheese! It was delicious, wow!!! The worker actually mentioned that it is purchased from the nearby Harvest Great Bread. The iced chai latte was incredible too. I was asked if I would like to use the homemade almond milk, and I went for it. So glad I did! The consistency was super thick, almost like a cream. I would say that the taste was unlike any other chai latte I've had - perhaps it was the almond milk. If I could, I would have this iced chai latte every day. read more

After reading 5 star reviews and knowing it was a local hot spot I chose to skip my usual black drip opting for a sugar free Chao with unsweetened coconut milk. This is the best thing ever to have graced the parking lot of Knecht's Ace Hardware/the former Albertson's. The Cafe Miel is absolutely divine, and the service augmented my experience. Honey in coffee is seriously underrated. The young woman working there complimented my fishtail braid (and I didn't disclose that the fishtail is the only "complicated" braid I know how to do, thus it has become My Thing.) Furthermore, my boyfriend assigned me to grab coffee through this drive-thru (he was at Knecht's buying drywall supplies because doing manual labor for my folks is how he spreads Christmas cheer) and I was feeling super bad ass tooling his big ole truck through the parking lot, when I hate actually driving that beast under normal circumstances. Their menu reveals that they have a lot of-dairy free options, and they also have a good selection of roasts. We picked up a plain black beverage for my mom because she's a purist about her coffee, and she said that even though the shop was close by, she hadn't tried it. And probably felt a regret as as unsweet and undiluted as she likes her coffee. I really hope Dixon continues to thrive! The love for life these people show you comes to be represented in their coffee and service. And for that I'm thankful. The menu is fairly extensive and there are a few Dixon only creations that people should try at least once. My go to is the Dixon Chai and it's chai flavors combined with almond milk and a few shots of espresso are the things that mouth watering food dreams are made of... Anywho, I'm lost in food thoughts. Most amazing coffee. Friendly staff! Best coffee place out of the 6 we tried in town. The truffle hot chocolate is so yummy and sweet. The mochas are great too with their homemade almond milk and vegan organic chocolate. You can even ask them to make the mocha with the truffle chocolate and it's really good but a lot sweeter then the regular mocha. They do awesome americano's also. Ours drinks were all decaf. Stopped for a quick coffee before heading out to Rushmore adventures. It's a coffee "shack" conveniently located on Omaha in the parking lot of the Family Thrift Grocery store. Service was quick and friendly. There was no problem with putting my cappuccino in my glass keepcup. The outside was clean and tidy, with flowers and what appeared to be an old Red Cross ambulance.
