She will take the time to answer all of your questions, order any lab work, and refer you to other specialists if needed. I was referred to dermatology and she made sure that if I didn't get a call from them to schedule within a week that I should message her and she will follow up for me. DO's are just as much doctors as MD's and should not be discredited. 5 years out of medical school (if true) doesn't mean anything as far as how good of a doctor someone is. If you want a doctor with far more "experience" maybe find a doctor close to retirement, but I'm sure they will really be set in their ways.

The reason I mention the time frame is to emphasize how awesome he is as a doctor. I haven't had all wonderful experiences with Dignity health, however, I don't have a single complaint about Dr. Swales. I am a teacher and have taught in different districts, some of which make Dr. Swales out of network for me. Nonetheless, I am willing to pay the extra just to keep him as my primary care doctor. He genuinely cares about his patients. He has a nurse that has been there as long as I have been named Josh and together they are this duo that I feel confident and cared for. I didn't know you could write yelp reviews for specific people but I'm glad I can. Getting a new doctor isn't always easy, however, if you can be one of his patients I assure you, you will be lucky and if you are like me and one of this patients, I hope you appreciate how awesome it is to have such an intelligent, kind, and thoughtful doctor.

And I thought, let's share how great he is on Yelp too :) - He's very knowledgable. I have a lot of health problems, and from the very first appointment it was impressive how familiar he is with even the more obscure ones. - He's great at really listening, and then giving feedback and/or recommending the right specialist. Seems like he became a doctor for the right reason: He truly wants to help people. - He goes not just off medical literature, but also the experiences of his other patients dealing with the same condition(s). He's made some helpful suggestions to me that have improved my quality of life, more so than any PCP I've ever seen before. - There's rarely any wait time - I think the longest has been something like 10 minutes, and it is usually much less. - Dr Swales and his equally helpful assistant Josh always respond quickly and thoroughly to my messages. This is the easiest way for me to communicate, so I really appreciate it. All round fantastic doctor!

She listens to me and respects that I know my body better than anyone. A couple of times she hasn't wanted to try a new prescription for me but here is where she really shines, she listened to my feelings and in one instance talked me out of the drug. In the second instance I knew I was right and she treated me with respect and prescribed the drug I had researched. Turns out it was the right drug for me and she told me that. She is not afraid to let the patient be an active part of their care. She is easy to get a hold of by email. She is not afraid to refer me to a specialist and she is a nice woman. What more could you ask for.
