Really a good spot to sit and eat. It was nice and clean and very spacious inside. They make naan to order so it can be as fresh as can be. The flavor packs a punch. But I would say that it is flavorful on only some selections. Like most reviews, I think the butter chicken was a good choice. The special rice is a good start too. The staff was really helpful as most people just don't know where to start. However, whoever helped us was nice, kind, and very patient. We enjoyed this place for a quick impromptu dinner. Definitely more cost effective than DC pricing.

My son has been going on and on about this place so today I accompanied him. I have to say, it was absolutely delicious! The curry lamb was so tender and flavorful! Buffet plentiful and everything seemed fresh and hot. I literally have NO complaints! Can't wait to go back! Thank you Diyo fusion!

Delicious food and great atmosphere with a very nice and patient staff. I got the chicken chilli and it was the perfect portion size and the rice just made it even better! Can't wait to come back here and try more from the menu when I'm able to come back to PA for another visit.

So, it was my first time here. Had been hearing that this new Indian / Nepalese restaurant was opening up so I knew I had to come check it out. I finally got the chance to come in for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised upon entry. It's such a cute space , and super inviting. The woman at the front making my food was very friendly. I ended up trying out the Curry Lamb and Butter chicken over Basmati rice and was instantly blown away. They were both absolutely delicious. I personally wish I had gone with just the curry lamb (although the butter chicken was delicious). Seriously, the curry lamb was orgasmic! Or maybe I'm just fat , idk , whatever , but it was SO good. Will definitely be back for that. Sooner than later. Lol. The fact that I could get two of my favorite dishes , in under 10 minutes, has me sold. Also , try their juices! I had the guava juice. 10/10!

I stopped in opening weekend to check out Lancaster's newest restaurant, Diyo. It is located in Ewell plaza in the heart of the downtown area. The ambiance inside is casual and basic, but is clean and serves the vibe of the restaurant well. Diyo is a very casual version of Himalayan, a Lancaster favorite owned by the same people. They serve Nepalese food which is customizable in a bowl or a wrap, with appetizers and sides. I ordered the Chili Momo dish which looked great on their menu. The food is prepared and dished on a cafeteria style line like Chipotle. The Chili Momo was spicy and delicious. It wasn't as fresh as a made-to-order restaurant, but it looked like all of the food on the line was kept up with, and nothing that we got felt like it was sitting out for long. I also ordered a side of 2 samosas on the side which were great. The pastry was very flaky and the tamarind sauce on the side was delicious. My friends got bowls with Diyo special rice, chicken, and lamb. They both enjoyed them and especially liked the rice. Overall Diyo achieves exactly what it sets out to do; offer tasty Nepalese food in a quick service format. This is a very rare restaurant concept, and certainly the only "Nepalese fast food" in the area. The prices are reasonable, and the food is good. If you have the time to sit down and want a fancier dinner, go to Himalayan. If you need to grab a quick lunch downtown, or just want to try something new from a trusted restaurateur in Lancaster, you should check out Diyo. I'll be back to try more options, other sides, and the juices which looked great in the drink case.

This is a build your own bowl place with appetizers too. The service is quick and the staff is friendly. It's a great place to grab a meal, sit by the window and people watch.

The other reviews have covered how delicious the butter chicken and lamb curry are. I agree. 10/10. Whoever is cooking in this place is very, very good at what they do. I tried a mango lassi with my meal, which was excellent. There were 2 flavors of lassi, and several deserts in the cooler. I highly recommend this place. Great casual dinner! I have gotten 3 meals out of what I was served. Prices are reasonable and food is delicious. We parked in the Duke St. Garage and walked around the block.

Lovely service with amazing food.

When I saw they opened up, I was pumped. If you like Himalayan or Nepali food, do yourself a BIG favor and stop in. Located near the Lancaster library, your mouth will thank you. I'm still feeling the afterglow of this meal. Fairly priced with excellent servings.

They were incredibly…read morekind and accommodating, fitting us in with a last-minute reservation -- but I highly recommend booking at least a few days in advance. This is an intimate BYOB spot, and it was completely packed when we arrived. The atmosphere feels cozy and authentic -- the kind of place where you know care goes into both the food and the hospitality. We ordered the chickpeas, cauliflower, and a mango lassi. One thing we really appreciated: they asked us what spice level we preferred. My wife doesn't like spicy food, and they thoughtfully prepared everything mild for us without sacrificing flavor. The chickpeas were outstanding -- rich, well-seasoned, and deeply satisfying. The cauliflower wasn't quite to my personal taste, but it was well prepared. And the mango lassi? Absolutely amazing -- creamy, refreshing, and the perfect complement to the meal. Portions were generous, and the service was prompt and genuinely excellent throughout the evening. If you're in Lancaster and enjoy flavorful Himalayan and Indian cuisine in a cozy BYOB setting, this place is definitely worth a visit -- just plan ahead and make that reservation.

My wife, acting as both navigator and oracle, found Norbu after I asked for something within walking distance of our hotel. Four Himalayan restaurants, all within a short stroll, which felt statistically suspicious in the heart of Amish country. We chose Norbu because it had the best reviews and, more importantly, because it offered Nepalese and Bhutanese dishes, which none of us had ever tried. We are a family that tries to make it a point to say yes to the unknown. Finding it is part of the adventure. Norbu is tucked along North Christian Street, though calling it a street feels optimistic at best. It is more of a very committed alley. The restaurant sits inside an office building with a few brave parking spaces placed carefully on postage stamp sized lot out front. Had we been driving, I am certain we would have missed it and continued on, poorer for the experience. Fortunately, we were on foot and arrived intact. Inside, the place was alive at 7 PM. There were low tables with stools that suggested a more traditional way of dining, and a couple of unoccupied standard tables for those of us still learning. We took one of the latter and were seated quickly. We began with momo, a dish that seems like could quietly solve many of the world's problems if placed on the right tables. Soft, hand folded dumplings, steamed and served with a savory chutney. We ordered the "Mix It All" option, which gave us vegetable, beef, and chicken. Each had its own personality, its own quiet argument for why it should be your favorite. My older son ordered the Sweet N Sticky Tofu, which was the most familiar thing we ate all night. It tasted like a thoughtful conversation between General Tso and sesame tofu. Very good, very well executed, just less novel. I had the Pak Sha Datsi, the national dish of Bhutan, which I did not know until I read it on the menu and our server filled in the missing information with patience and enthusiasm. Norbu itself, we learned, is rooted in Himalayan traditions and a desire to share the food and culture of Nepal and Bhutan with a wider audience, which feels like a noble use of time. The dish arrived as a gently spiced stew with pork and a blend of aged and smoked cheeses. It was creamy, delicate, and somehow grew more interesting with every bite. It did not resemble anything I had eaten before, which is a rare and welcome thing as I grow ever older. My wife and younger son both ordered the Nepali Thali, a kind of edible symphony made up of curry, lentils, vegetables, chutneys, pickles, and a dessert pudding. My wife chose the fish curry, which was tender and lightly flavored. My son chose the chicken curry, which quietly became the star of the table. It had a familiar warmth, something like Indian curry, but with its own distinct voice. The accompanying mustard greens, curried potatoes, and a simple mix of green beans, corn, and carrots, were so flavorful that we found ourselves marveling at them like tourists at a natural wonder. Service was excellent. Our waitress guided us through the menu, made thoughtful suggestions, and shared a bit of the restaurant's story. By the end of the meal, we felt not just fed, but informed. Our only failure was not saving room for dessert. There was a chai flavored cashew cheesecake that sounded like it might change a person's outlook on life. We will have to return to test this theory. Norbu is the kind of place you hope to find and rarely do. It is hidden, a little hard to reach, and entirely worth the effort. Five stars, because sometimes you find something amazing and new, and that reminds you that the world is still full of good surprises.

The Chili Momo was very hot. Regardless of heat level, the food was incredibly good. The flavor was off the charts. The Pork Kaan was so hot, it was giving me runway model lips. But it was still sooooo good. Smoky flavor, crispy/chewy texture, etc. The momo had a decent amount of filling and the dough was very thin. The samosa chaat was probably the lease impressive . . . but it was still good. The food was nicely packaged in metal to-go containers with plastic lids. It was already stacked well in a plastic bag. The price wasn't terrible. I was out of there for under $50 for 4 dishes. I only have one complaint. The guy taking my order tried to talk me out of the spicy and unique dishes. He said I wouldn't like the Kaan because Americans don't like it. When I said I wanted some dishes extra extra spicy, he tried to talk me out of it multiple times. I didn't mind the guidance, but I don't like the assumption that people like me don't like spicy food. And if I confirm I really do want it spicy, please don't keep trying to convince me otherwise. Despite having to argue for spicy food, the food itself was absolutely fantastic and I can't wait to go back and try some of their other dishes. I was offered two small bottles of water to drink while waiting for my food to be cooked. Definitely a two thumbs up experience regarding the food.
