I've known Ron for some time now, but was never able to book him for a gig because he's always booked for other events! Finally, for my birthday, he was available the night I had my dinner at Gerry's Grill. Ron came on time, prepared with equipment, and ready to spin. Not only were the guests at my party enjoying what he was spinning, but everyone in the restaurant was happy! He played a variety of music from reggae to hip hop to house to old skool. It was a nice balance to everyone's ears. One of the things that people don't understand about a good DJ, is that they have a great skill that is practiced, rehearsed, and not easy to do. It was a surprise 18th birthday of my daughter Ghia...everything about the experience was amazing. We feel fortunate to have had Ron as our DJ & MC. He was professional and reliable. He took the time to meet with us in person. He helped to have a very smooth changes between the different things happening during the preparation. He always communicate with us to make sure everything was the way we wanted. He gained our trust right away. In regards to his performance on the day of the party... Ron was phenomenal!!! DJ A-Ron was the DJ only (we had a separate emcee) at an enormous wedding I was part of this year. I was included on the wedding schedule/planning. This DJ was scheduled to arrive at 10 am and did not arrive till 1225 at the venue for set up. The bridal party was scheduled to leave at 1230 for the church so, this set us back. During a wedding day, with all the controlled chaos, this is the last thing our planner needed. Once the wedding was over, the doors to the wedding reception were scheduled to open at 520. So if the DJ was on time, he would have had roughly 7 hours to set up and run through to make sure the reception ran smoothly. The doors to the venue did not open till 6 PM, which is LATE, because the Dj was on his own scheduled and wanted to eat dinner before the reception started. This was so unprofessional and rude since he should have been on the planner and brides schedule, not his own agenda. The rest of the night was hit and miss. I thought the night started out well, with good upbeat music during dinner but lighting was off and kept going out, which I found out later was under his control. Once dinner ended and it was just dancing for the next couple hours everything went down hill. The age of the guests of the wedding ranged from early 20's to late 60's, and while it was not a tough crowd, he did not work us well leaving most of the people standing around or sitting at their tables for a majority of the night. My last gripe about this DJ is the songs them selves. After the first set, the songs were mostly rap and some sort of dubstep techno which was too much for an older crowd. It was hard to dance to 90% of the songs, and the transitions between songs made standing on the floor in the middle of "dancing" awkward since there would be 15 seconds of slow music between songs. People were leaving the dance floor and I thought that at least by the 3rd or 4th song that he would have taken the cue and changed his set, but unfortunately that did not happen, the sets stayed on course with hard rap and undanceable music. I personally requested some line dance songs, like electric slide (which I stupidly assumed was customary at all weddings) and he did not play any of them the entire night. A line dance is perfect for all ages because it gets everyone involved and it would have made for a wonderful picture op! On top of playing such a high energy set all night, he did not play any slow songs the entire reception, which really segregated the older group that was not into the dance music. A slow song would have been ideal to bring couples of all ages to the floor and an opportunity to dance with the bride and groom. There were lots of couples that never even stepped on the floor the entire night and that seems to me like an issue with the music. My final verdict: 3 stars because he is not a bad DJ, I just have experienced better. It looks as though he has been a DJ for smaller events with guests being in the same age range, such as debuts and parties. In that aspect I would highly recommend him because his energy is high and he could keep a younger group engaged and entertained. For a wedding, a big event with lots of varying ages, I would not recommend him. A DJ and any wedding vendor should be RESPECTFUL, flexible, punctual and listen to the bride/wedding planners requests. With all the stress of this event and the sheer amount of guests, I can see how it would have been overwhelming and for these reasons I would not hire/recommend him for such an event again. read more

At my birthday party...I was without a Deejay (poorly planned). Last minute I called up DJ A-Ron and asked him if he would come and dj last minute. He was more then willing to help me out! My cousin's debut was a success. DJ A-Ron is a professional. He arranged a meeting and structured a program with me in the midst of chaos, provided that this event was last minute. On the day of the debut, he arrived 2 hours early to set-up and just made early preparations to avoid any issues or problems. He knew exactly how to taylor the right tunes to all attendees. We recently had a SURPRISE 18th birthday (March 14, 2015) party for my niece and were lucky enough to have booked such an amazing DJ/MC for the special day. My niece's dad (my cousin) had a stroke late last year and ever since then her world was turned upside down. Our whole family decided to put together a SURPRISE 18TH for my niece because it was something her dad would have wanted if he didn't have the stroke. After two weeks of calling around to find a DJ/MC, I stumbled across Centerpiece Events. I was reluctant to call because of all the excellent reviews thinking that I wouldn't be able to afford the service, but I called anyway. Upon meeting DJ Aron, you can tell that he didn't look at us like a paycheck. He was very welcoming, humble, professional, and treated our planned event like his. He was very knowledgeable, introduced new ideas and some suggestions for the event. He made the event very special by incorporating another slide show of my niece's dad during the Father and Daughter dance so she can see her dad while she's dancing. It seems like he took care of the whole event schedule! DJ Aron kept track of the schedule during the event to make sure there are no gaps and that everything flowed smoothly. It was a very hard event to plan since it was a big surprise party, but DJ Aron made it happened!!! I didn't have any stress during the party and everybody had a blast!!!
