When we first met with So Smitten, Megan walked us through a massive planning document that addressed every component of a wedding. There were so many little things that I would never think about. Their organization blew me out of the water, I immediately knew the So Smitten team would be a great match for us. When we started planning, my wife and I had a very abstract idea of what we wanted. Megan and Marni took our idea and ran with it. They took our really rough vision and perfected it. It was amazing to see the plan evolve during our regular zoom calls. We were also shocked to see that they took notes on EVERYTHING! There were so many little things we mentioned once and forgot about that, months later, found their way into the plan. They also kept us on track through the whole process. They would make a to do list for us at the end of every meeting of what we we need to do and when we need to do it by. That really removed a lot of stress from our lives. The So Smitten team has so many connections for: Photographers, Videographers, DJs, Bands, Flowers, Design, Rentals, everything you need. They made it really easy compare vendors and find the ones that we liked to work with. Later, when all our vendors were trying to check in with us in the weeks leading to the wedding, Megan and Marni took on a bunch of the meetings and contract stuff for us. That removed so much of our stress and let us we could worry about getting our family and friends to the event. Letting them take on all the contracts and negotiations also ended up helping us save about 3-4x the amount we paid So Smitten by finding different alternatives for power, DJs, etc. Leading into the wedding everyone told me to just relax WHEN things go wrong and let the planners and coordinators handle it. What an amazing and professional team, from beginning to end. It's clear they know exactly what they're doing, asked the right questions, and got us through this without any problems. Crissy was our coorindator who made sure the day of wedding ran incredibly smoothy. My wedding was last night and what a gorgeous and wonderful person who went out of her way to make my wedding day go smoothly. She made me feel comfortable and I ( a detailed control freak at times ) let go of the reins and let Shaunté take it from here. She was amazing , she answered texts quickly, she worked with contacting my vendors, she set up my dessert table and centerpieces she made my vision come to light. And during my wedding whatever I asked for she made it happen. She made sure the venue had everything set up how I needed and even brought me and the groom our drinks and worked with the DJ to make all announcements. Literally she was so on top of everything that I had to ask, did you eat? Where she found the time, I don't know. I got the bronze package and she made me feel platinum. Starting a year before the wedding, we worked with Marni via the Gold Package (we already had our venue and one or two vendors lined up before hiring So Smitten). The entire process was excellent. Marni really gets into every single detail you could imagine, and there were quite a few important details my wife and I never would have realized to think of without her. Her extreme organization was crucial in the planning process, and really helped us wrap our heads around every step. You should see the So Smitten spreadsheet. It's impressive. If you mention a preference or idea even casually or in passing months before the wedding, Marni will make a note and remember for the big weekend! Plus she has lists and lists of fun and unique suggestions for every aspect of the wedding (her lists included a frozen chocolate-covered banana cart which we saw and decided we needed for our dessert spread). As for the wedding itself, it was perfectly executed and exactly what we hoped it would be. It was funky and personal and a huge celebration with our friends and family, which is what we set out to do. Afterwards, countless friends and guests repeatedly commented that the wedding felt uniquely like us and like they could party and dance with us carefree. Marni and So Smitten were the ones responsible for making our vision for the day a reality, and they did so very successfully. We can't say enough about how much Angelica and So Smitten helped with our September 2024 wedding in Los Angeles. We originally were not planning to hire a wedding coordinator -- I am a bit of a control freak -- but eventually decided it would be best to have an expert on board. It was probably the best decision we made. Angelica was communicative, organized and enthusiastic. She really went above and beyond to make sure we had the best, least stressful day. She helped us make sure we had everything and did everything we needed ahead of time. There are so many things to remember, which can be very stressful, but So Smitten's process will ensure you don't forget anything. Angelica also helped create our timeline and then made sure the timeline was followed to a tee. She also did a great job communicating with our many vendors and making sure they were on schedule and doing their jobs. She even did things that I would not have expected to be her responsibility. For example, a few hours before the wedding began, Angelica and her assistant, Leslie, set up all of our linens and dishware at the reception tables, because for some reason our caterer would not do that. During the wedding, she was available at any moment for anything we needed. At one point, I was a bit displeased at some of the music being played (the DJ was taking a lot of requests) and Angelica quickly spoke with the DJ and made sure they got back to playing songs from our playlist. Those are just a couple examples of the many ways Angelica helped make sure we had the perfect wedding. Here are my top 3 highlights from working with them: 1. Design! Marni was really great at helping me put things together for the "vision board" of the wedding. I honestly had no clue what I wanted and being on pinterest was a bit overwhelming. Having Marni be there, to sit with me for HOURS, and make suggestions was such a huge help for me! She was never pushy, but was the perfect sounding board when I was feeling indecisive. 2. Timeline - there are so many things that go into planning a wedding and honestly I didn't have a strong opinion about 90% of the details. Marni was great about keeping me on track and this was especially crucial during covid because we had to push all of our vendors out an entire year, sign addendums, get waivers, re-schedule payment dates, etc. They were great at keeping me on track. There were so many guests to say hi to and you just want to be present in the moment..BUT we also had a crazy schedule of events. Marni kept Ben and I on track and really kept me calm and collected because she was so grounded during the entire weekend. My husband and I went with the Bronze Day of Coordinator and worked with Crissy as our lead wedding coordinator. Everyone tells you to anticipate things going wrong, so I mentally prepared myself to accept whatever wrenches were thrown our way the day of. BUT because of So Smitten/Crissy (wedding coordinator), literally nothing went wrong and the wedding was PERFECT. If there were hiccups, myself , my husband and our guest were unaware. We had several guests comment on how on top of everything Crissy and team were. I DIYed a lot of the wedding and had extensive keynotes and spreadsheet explicitly describing how everything should be set up. Crissy and team made it all look beautiful and better than I imagined, they even helped set up decor beyond their typically purview which I am so appreciative of! The day was perfectly schedule - with multiple guest telling us it was the most well paced wedding they had attended and never felt rushed or like there as a lull. And as people who have attended many many weddings, the timeline and the order of events is something my husband and I were meticulous about getting right and Crissy gave some great suggestions on the flow of events which were great. In the weeks and days prior we also had lots of little changes here which meant lots of updated documents and emails flying. What a wonderful planner and person - we were SO happy with Marni from first meeting to the big day and beyond! I wasn't sure I wanted to hire a planner, thinking I could do the spreadsheets or whatever myself. Oh man, am I glad I re-thought that when several brides said a planner is crucial! She had all the spreadsheets and then some ready to go, with multiple recommendations for each vendor we were looking for, which turned out great and saved us so much time. We didn't even know what we didn't know in terms of the thought that goes in to making things run smoothly. (Oh vow booms are a good idea... We can get copies of our friends' photos if we put an album with the photobooth? Cool. Someone's tracking gifts? Great!) Marni kept us on track, from thinking through what we wanted to planning step by step with us so we didn't feel overwhelmed. She also had and found some of the unique design touches that made the experience so special for our guests. She coordinated all our vendors beautifully and was such a great resource whenever we had any questions - and we had a lot.
