We hired DJ Bob for our wedding and were blown away!! Guests were raving about him after the wedding as well. Bob provides you a platform to mark songs as "don't play" "please play" etc. It's a good way to get those early no's and must plays in before you brain is scrambled from wedding planning. We had several in person meetings prior to the wedding to assess the space, go over music styles and how the event should go. The day of our wedding, it was misting up until we needed to make a final call about where the ceremony would happen. Bob was quick to bring his ceremony setup outside and ready to go. We gave all of our vendors a timeline for the day and Bob was great to keep everything on track. Making announcements when people needed to sit, when dinner would be served, and anything we threw at him. He kept the show running smoothly, took our playlist and injected songs with a similar vibe when needed. Something unexpected we did was the horah, and he had the music ready to go! Highly recommend. DJ Bob was made to be a DJ. He's fun, kind, and easy to work with. My husband and I met DJ Bob at a bridal fair and clicked with him instantly. He knew all the music we liked and had done many weddings at our venue and knew how to set up the room and what kind of uplighting we should do. DJ Bob gives you a username and password and creates a portal for you. In the portal you have a section where you enter in your day of timeline, contacts, names of the bridal party, and you can add a list of songs that need to be played, can be played if there is time, and songs that are not allowed to be played. Before your wedding DJ Bob has a consultation with you to go over everything in your portal and any last minute questions. We had our consultation with him a month before our wedding and not only did he put us at ease but he got us PUMPED for our big day. My husband and I had zero stress leading up to our wedding day and DJ Bob was one of the reasons we were able to enjoy the time leading up to our wedding and our wedding day. We knew he had it all taken care of. He even emailed all of our vendors our day of timeline so everyone could get on the same page. For the actual wedding day he KILLED IT!!! People kept coming up to us and saying how much they loved the DJ and the songs he was playing. He was professional and so full of energy. My husband and I highly recommend him for a DJ. We were referred to DJ Bob by a friend who was unable to book him for their wedding. We lucked out and were able to book him. Before the Wedding - DJ Bob met with us two times in person and exchanged numerous e-mails. Based on our first meeting we could tell that he had a ton of experience in the area and knew all of our other vendors and the venue itself. He was a great resource and made numerous offers to help if we had any issues with vendors or needed suggestions. Our meetings were really focused on two things: 1) Determining the atmosphere we wanted for the event and 2) Nailing down a timeline. DJ Bob understands that the DJ at most weddings is also the one making announcements and herding the wedding guests. This is, in my opinion, even more important that the music itself. But about the music... he has a range of ways to help him determine what should be playing. You can pick specific songs, he can suggest specific songs, he can mix things up by genre, and any combination of that. He even asks you if there are any songs that he shouldn't play. Lastly... he gave us a secret signal that we could use at any time for him to stop what was happening immediately. It was nice to have that in our back pocket in case of the unplanned toast/roast, inappropriate song, etc. DJ Bob has experience but don't let his grey hair fool you... he knows how to get a party going! During the Wedding - He's got the "day-of" down to a science. Let's get the professionalism out of the way... DJ Bob shows up early enough that you are completely at ease, works with your other vendors to make sure the everything is ready before announcing anything (buffet open, cake cutting, etc) and was probably one of the last people to leave that night. Now to the fun stuff... DJ Bob is the perfect mix of host, comedian, and DJ. He is able to read a crowd and can steer the night in the right direction. Of all the weddings' we've attended I've never seen a DJ so successful in getting people out of their chairs and onto the dance floor. DJ Bob MC'd, did all sound system, and all music for our wedding this past August 2017 in SLO with about 112 guests. He did such an amazing job. I swear I would have hired him as an MC alone! He really helped establish the rhythm and mood of our wedding, and made sure we kept the ball rolling with our schedule. Unfortunately, my family is very big on sitting and chatting, not so much dancing :(, but regardless, he did an amazing job with music. Everyone let me know they still enjoyed the music he played, and again, really helped set up the mood of the wedding. DJ Bob did the most amazing job planning and executing on my wife's birthday party. This wasn't your normal party, it took bi-monthly check-ins for about 4 months. During that time, Bob contracted with 6-7 vendors as we transformed the entire Avila Valley Barn for truly the most incredible birthday party you could imagine. Throughout the process I felt like Bob was a great listener and truly passionate about wanting to do right by me, my wife and all the guests. We were coordinating with Disney characters, zoo to you, along with all the normal vendors you'd expect at a wedding. He would periodically call me throughout the week super excited about ideas that popped into his head and I truly felt like he cared about the party as much as I did. I was totally confident beforehand that the party was going to be EPIC supported by Bob and his team who truly wanted to be there to create an insanely memorable experience for everyone! Day of: Bob brings extra support staff (without charging extra) to make sure everything goes well. He was cool, calm, collected, prepared, focused and ready to execute like a professional athlete. He tee'd up the party like a champ and had us laughing and crying the entire night... He even turned down ten thousand dollars from my buddy who wanted to deter Bob from our predetermined playlist. Day after: I was obviously pretty hung over but not just from the booze, from the emotions because it felt like the night after our wedding. We did talk the next day. He thanked me for my business and opportunity to help lead the party/event and I interrupted him cause, I needed to thank him for making my wife feel so special, loved and happy. He even had his assistant load all my wife's presents into the car that we didn't drive home that night :). Best DJ ever! Bob was the Dj for our wedding and he was amazing, he has been doing weddings for years and has it down. We explained to Bob that we wanted things a little more low key, no games or a lot of jokes on the mic etc. (Although if you want those things, i'm sure he's great at that too). He did exactly what we asked and was perfect! He set up amazing up-lights all around our venue (Tooth and Nail Winery) that made it come to life.
