I got married in May 2023 and hired Kim to assist. She is responsive at the start, says all the…read moreright things when she's trying to get you to sign a contract with her. After that, it goes downhill - but that is precisely when it matters most. She didn't really help me throughout the planning process and wasn't proactive in asking me what I needed and what holes needed to be filled the months leading up to the wedding. Her package says it's month of coordination (or maybe she even refers to it as partial planning, which it definitely is not) but it's truly just day of. Her assistant was slow and she and Kim couldn't find stuff on the day of even though I had labeled all of the items and boxes clearly. She does the bare minimum and for what she charges, it is simply not worth it. If I hadn't been so organized and on top of it, I know my wedding wouldn't have gone well. *The month before our wedding, she acted super erratic on the day of our venue logistics meeting/walkthrough/tasting, talking very fast and way too much about random things totally unrelated to our wedding. It was like she was there to have fun and eat/drink as a guest rather than to be helping us take care of important business. We were embarrassed and uncomfortable by her behavior but I told my husband not to rock the boat because we had already signed a contract with her and I didn't want it to affect our wedding day. I kept having to redirect her to stay on task. She also kept talking about other couples she was working with and how she was annoyed with them changing their wedding plans by moving up their wedding date. I don't know why our wedding planner would be talking about that during our meeting. I had to do the same thing of keeping her on task during our actual rehearsal, because we needed to stay on schedule to get to our rehearsal dinner venue on time. She just kept chatting like she had all the time in the world. This seems like a pattern with her. Plain and simple, I should not have to follow up with and manage someone who has been hired to help me do that. *A week or so before our wedding I emailed her with some updates/questions and it took a week to respond. I understand she is probably busy but I didn't feel like she prioritized our wedding in general. If a key component of your work is communicating and liaising with your clients, especially when there are only days remaining before their big day, you should respond quicker than three business days, which is what she says her response time is. That's too long IMO especially for time sensitive matters. *Kim never obtained/provided the room or ceremony lawn layout and asked at the actual rehearsal for the wedding how I wanted the tables in the ballrooms arranged. It is unbelievable that she only thought to ask this important question less than one day before the wedding. This is pretty standard for what planners provide - in fact they often provide renderings/AutoCAD floorplans. She does neither. Again, something I had to do myself. *Our dog was in the ceremony. I told her who was responsible for picking him up and taking him to our place after the ceremony, and provided her name and number. Kim didn't pick up her call. When she told Kim she called, Kim said "oh that was you? I don't pick up numbers from different area codes." Okay, but I Iiterally provided this person's first and last name and her number beforehand to avoid this situation. Other vendors working our wedding said they tried to call her multiple times that day and she didn't pick up. That is super disappointing to hear. She also didn't pick up my calls! *She has a few rentals but I feel the pricing is misleading. She only told me after I agreed to rent chargers from her that there was a "$10 cleaning fee." It's not about the $10. It's about transparently including that info in her materials. I felt like she pulled a bait and switch over a few things she did related to the petty cash amount (that she requires). Overall I felt like she nickel and dimes clients to do things she should include as part of her services. The services she provides for the price are super bare bones. *She also did/said things that I felt were unprofessional like she made references multiple times to us being Jewish/referencing a chuppah (which we did not have) despite knowing we weren't Jewish. One time, okay, you can chalk it up to a mistake or some sort of confusion. But multiple times? I don't know what she meant by this--it made me feel like she didn't care and/or didn't even know how to tell her couples apart. She also made multiple spelling errors/typos in her master timeline document that I had to correct. The wedding is now over but the final timeline still has some spelling errors. These are a few examples of things that she did that I felt shows she did not care about us, our wedding, and how she just did the bare minimum for a very high price (not worth it!)

They had a nice waterfall outside, clean and cute bathrooms, an outside patio on both sides, and a glass window looking out into the nature. The valet parking was efficient as well. It was a bit of a walk to the venue from the parking area but we had so much fun. The biggest surprise was the food. The appetizers were all amazing and the main dishes were good as well. I think this was one of the best foods I've had at a wedding. They also had a pho bar, to my surprise was also included in the venue. Now the pho itself...the broth was meh and noodles were thin rice noodles, but, the concept was genius for an Asian wedding. I loved the Korean fried chicken! Drinks were so delicious and bartenders/sergers/staff were all amazing.

We first spoke to Katie for an initial call and she was really knowledgable and friendly that I was sad to hear we would be working with another coordinator, but Emily happily jumped on a call to ease any worries I may have had. We went with the Month of Coordination service which allowed us to do most of the planning ourselves (most of our vendors were locked in early on, but MB provides a lovely list of vendors they've worked with in case it's needed). Emily had us fill out a very detailed questionnaire (you can tell they know what they're doing with the questions being asked) and went over every detail with us, including areas we were still figuring out. She was available for any questions I had as well leading up to the day, made sure to reach out to all of our vendors with the master timeline, and even provided some guidance for my cousin that was officiating for the first time. A big bonus is how many weddings they've coordinated at Walnut Grove that they're very familiar with the venue and the folks from Command Performance Catering. Emily led us through rehearsal the day before and made sure the actual wedding day went smoothly. She made it possible for us to focus on enjoying the day with our friends and family, but still keep on schedule with her gentle reminders.

Carrie provided wonderful lighting and design services for our late August wedding at the Malibu…read moreWest Beach Club and did a fabulous job for us! She went above and beyond what we requested and we couldn't be more thrilled with her work. She hung beautiful paper lanterns (hers and a few of ours in various ocean-inspired shades that we'd purchased online) inside the venue as well as outside in the trees that lead into MWBC's front entrance. She also provided lounge cushions and pillows for the back deck, curtains of white twinkle lights flanking both sides of the back deck (behind the bar and behind the lounge) and also provided draping and lighting inside the venue behind our sweetheart table, cake table and above along with the paper lanterns. It was truly stunning walking into such a magical and romantically lit reception! Our guests absolutely raved! Carrie also provided a gorgeous escort card box for the front entrance filled with seashells, sea glass, sand and other beachy items. Perfect for the elegant coastal look we were going for! I mean what can I say...I love piers! This is by far one of the most basic piers in the SoCal…read morearea. It's not very long and the day we visited it was littered with trash. Kinda sad people don't know how to use trash cans. Not sure who is responsible for cleaning it, but it could have used it that day. I've lived in L.A.all my life and surprisingly have always passed by her and never stopped in. I guess the high cost of parking always distracted me. But not today. It was my birthday and my daughter brought me here, taking me out of my comfort zone and sharing a wonderful experience. The beach is beautiful. The restaurant was casual and hip with a relaxing vibe. We took a walk along the tide pools and cool rock formations. Walked the pier. I'm prone to overthinking, so I was amazed at how smoothly everything went and how little I thought about logistics on the wedding day, because they were all handled to perfection. We got married at King Gillette Ranch which is basically a completely empty space you have to build out from scratch with your vendors. Janna kept things going with a smile. All the vendors knew what to do and set things up impeccably. During the event, Janna safeguarded us when needed, moved us along when needed, and let us enjoy ourselves without interruption when we could. She and her team thought of so many touches big and small that really made our day, even something like having a drink and apps ready just for us after the ceremony. And the items they set up were done beautifully. Janna even came to help me with a wardrobe malfunction that I couldn't figure out how to fix. It was a real-life fairy godmother moment! All this to say that you can trust this team, and I am so grateful that I did. We went with the Lantana package (coordination), which obviously meant we had to do some of the heavy lifting and research in preparation for the wedding, but it was invaluable to have the guidance of Janna the whole way. I would say it was very worth it for the amount of involvement she had a whole year in advance. She sent us vendor recommendations, a planning calendar, looked at contracts, and we had monthly calls. We kept track of our budget, would call and book vendors, picked rentals and flowers (design), handled stationary, RSVPs, DIYs, and a million other things that go into planning a wedding. I liked being able to make decisions, and stayed on top of things with spreadsheets and lists, but I wouldn't have felt comfortable doing it without an expert like Janna who could keep me on track so nothing important fell through the cracks. It was also incredibly useful to be able to ask her anything throughout the process if I had any questions. And Janna eventually took over vendor communications about 1 month out, which allowed us to focus on final prep all couples go through, and guests trickling into town. It was the perfect amount of involvement for us.

Very last minute our wedding venue told us we needed a day-of coordinator. It wasn't something…read morementioned to us before. We had already done all the footwork, booked vendors, had the timeline done and sent to vendors, planned, etc.... EVERYTHING was done! We were trying so hard to find a place that understood the situation and that we didn't need an over all planner/coordinator but a day-of coordinator. Lily from Orange Blossom stepped up to the plate and did a phenomenal job!! She understood that we just needed someone there the day of and she never once overstepped or made us feel stressed. She followed our wishes perfectly and made sure our timeline was fulfilled to a T! Lily is extremely professional, patient and kind. She goes above and beyond on the day and made sure nothing went wrong!! We greatly appreciate Lily for taking us on as clients and being so easygoing, organized and kind! I also want to stress that Orange Blossom and Lily were kind enough to give us a discount since we had already done all the footwork! They didn't feel it was morally right to charge us for an overall planner/coordinator. It's rare (especially in the wedding industry) to find people with such great morals, integrity and kindness. She'll even call you instead if she thinks it would be more efficient. 2) Preferred planner with our venue. She worked insanely well with our venue coordinator, which smoothed over so many details we didn't even need to be there for. 3) Mom energy. Jessica made sure my husband and I had everything we needed and more during the events - food, water, rest, shade, phones, you name it. She was super patient and respectful with accommodating our parents' requests, too. 4) Management capability. We had a big fat South Asian wedding consisting of 4 events over 2 days with a thousand moving parts. Jessica coordinated all the vendor contracts and on-site set up. She and her husband themselves were present for the duration of all events, which made all the difference. This is the person you want when something goes wrong. From having an emergency photographer on speed dial to adjusting the timeline on the spot, Jessica kept things in motion. She brought our visions to life, whether it was through decor mockups, adding sticker decals to our welcome mirror, or negotiating quotes and extra setup time & venue space. My most favorite memory is Jessica texting me photos and videos of the Baraat celebration, which the bride is not part of. Our family has made a connection with Jessica for life, even far beyond the wedding.
