Unfortunately, the experience was not worth $1000. I was on a party bus with this company October 1 and the experience was awesome and so I rented one for my birthday last night. The experiences were like night and day. On October 1, the driver was dressed well, greeted us, asked what we were celebrating, always double check that everyone was on board, walk to the bus and showed us everything we had access to, and was a genuinely enjoyable person. Last night, barely acknowledged, the lights on the inside of the bus, we're not Bright you couldn't see each other... The speakers in the front didn't work, the music worked for about 20 to 30 minutes of the entire trip. The driver was wearing earphones in his ears while driving so when we wanted him to try and fix the radio we had to tap his shoulder... He really couldn't figure it out and tried to restart the whole bus system a couple of times, but didn't care at all that it didn't work. This would've been better to rent 2 to 3 Uber excels to drive our group around because the bus experience was nothing but a bus ride. I'd like to add that the person that help me schedule and set up the night was wonderful... This was very much driver and bus function issues... We rented a party bus for my son's graduation. The bus was clean and our driver was great. However, the logistics of setting this event up was a nightmare. When booking this event I was asked to pay a deposit to hold our date. A week before we booked, I paid the final balance due and owing. I was also told who our driver would be. It is important to know that this company requires you to pay a mandatory 20% tip prior to the event. In addition, they texted me two days before the event and asked me to pay additional monies they called a "fuel surcharge." When the event took place, they presented papers for me to sign that I had not paid the full deposit amount nor the tip. The driver was expecting me to give him an additional tip. I explained to him that the paperwork was wrong and that we were required to prepay a 20% tip. When planning this event we mapped out a route that was meaningful for the people attending the party. This was emailed to the company several weeks in advance. We also sent detailed instructions since we were hosting a private buffet at a restaurant. This included the time of arrival and departure etc. The day before our event, I got a call from someone stating they were our driver. This was not the same person I was told it would be. I told him that I already sent all the info for our event and wanted to confirm he received it. He was unaware of that and did not have any of it. I asked Joe, the owner to send it to him since we were busy planning for the event. Joe told me he tried to send it but it did not go through. He asked me to resend all of the information to the new driver so I "could be assured it arrived." The day of our event, I received another phone call from another person that he was our driver. I told him that the driver just changed the day before. Again, I asked if he had received all the information I sent about our event, now twice. He said no and asked me to resend it all again. Overall, the bus is clean and fun. However, asking for additional monies right before the event, not keeping track of payments, not following through on planning details, and many last minute changes made planning really difficult. read more

Do not use this company if you value your safety and hard earned money. They picked up our party with a broken bus. We needed to vacate the bus on 394 as the entire bus was filled with smoke. Among our group was a pregnant woman. The entire group had a to arrange other transportation via Uber and the final response from this company was a 25% discount. You guys are a joke- will be losing out on any repeat business or referrals from anyone in our group. We have given everyone 120 days to reschedule. We are happy to give customers as much time as possible to figure out dates and contact everyone past this epidemic." Therefore, they wished to cancel their reservation entirely and receive the refund on their $200 security deposit that they deserve. We had a party bus for our wedding and it was a ton of fun! Driver took us wherever we wanted to go and the office staff was super easy to work with and accommodating based on our schedule that day! Only knock is that when given the tip, the driver opened it and complained it was not enough and that 20% was customary. I gave him more because he did do a good job, but if 20% is customary, just charge a 20% gratuity and make it easier for the guest. Overall, great experience! read more

If I could give zero stars I would: - The day of the wedding started off by me getting a call saying the balance owed on the bus wasn't paid. I spoke with the driver and told him it was successful and I would text him confirmation. He continued to argue and stated if I didnt pay the balance he would cancel the bus...I sent him the confirmation and since he insisted I told him I would bring cash to the wedding and do a force stop on the payment they withdrew from my account. - Upon arriving to the wedding I went outside to greet the driver and then he stated - you guys only have 1 hour to get to the pourhouse or you would need to make another payment of $175. The same driver had called me earlier during the week to verify my reservation from 10:30 pm - 12:30 am.. and also sent an email verification- PHOTO OF THAT BELOW. I asked him why would they charge $360 for a 2 hour 1 way trip.. and then arrive and tell us different.. his response was simple "I messed up and you're only getting an hour.. and if you go till 12:30 am your total would be $475 + 20% gratuity FOR A ONE WAY TRIP" - We tried talking to him and stressed it was an important wedding and asked him to honor the agreement and offered a large tip just for him to not be a dick head..he said it wasn't about the money which made no sense - spoke with the owner Dave who also refused to honor the reservation but instead offered a 15 minute grace period to get to the uptown pourhouse by 11:45pm.. we agreed since we had no other option. - I got off the bus and told the driver I will let the wedding know the update and get everyone ready. - Instead of waiting. The driver took off leaving all guests at the venue without saying anything. After posting on their FB page a negative review, the company responded with an explanation that the driver was threatened by our group. Let me preface this by saying that I'm not easily frustrated and it takes a lot for my patience to grow thin, especially when it comes to the service industry. But the end of the night was so bad that I needed to say something. We had the Pink Jewel Mini for my friend's bachelorette party on Saturday night. Our driver showed up about 10 minutes late, which we assumed was due to not being able to find the house right away so we forgave her for that. The bus was great and complete with a cooler, bar area, iPad to play music on and a stripper pole. We were having a great time and she was great picking up and dropping off at various bars until the end of the night. We went to the last bar of the night, told our driver that we were going to be leaving at bar close (2am) from Sneaky Pete's in DT Minneapolis and asked her to pick us up right where she had dropped us off (outside the bar). When she wasn't there, we gave her a call and she said she was trying to figure out a way back as the police had closed all the streets surrounding the bar. I was perplexed by that as I did see officers directing traffic, but there was definitely traffic coming from each way. Oh well, she was having difficulty so I asked where she was (any streets, bars, restaurants or literally anything near her) so that we could walk to meet her. But she didn't have any idea where she was!!! Eventually we figured out which direction she was coming from and I directed her towards First Ave where she said she'd meet us in 5 minutes. We get there and there's no sign of her. Call her again and she's still talking about how all the roads are closed. And again, we saw cars coming from EVERY. DIRECTION. I honestly am so confused how it took her over FORTY MINUTES to get to us which, unless she completely left the Minneapolis area to do something else for the hour that we were at that last bar (which I'm 80% sure she did), shouldn't have taken more than twenty. Also what completely mind-boggles me was how unfamiliar she was with the area. She didn't know where she was and she didn't know where we were and she couldn't figure out how to get to us. Even using Google Maps probably would've helped her avoid some of the streets that she was claiming were blocked off. How is it that I, someone who lives two states away and has only spent a handful of nights in Minneapolis, knew the area and how to give directions better than our driver? Extremely frustrating. The final thing that aggravated me to no end was that I asked her to stay on the phone with me and she said, "You know, I would but police are everywhere and I don't want to get pulled over" but proceeded to text us updates about her struggles to find an open road. I think staying on the line and putting me on speakerphone would be a lot safer than texting while driving. Again, I'm not easily frustrated by the service industry but we paid $680 and gave her an additional $140 tip up front. It's not like the bus was cheap by any means and to end the night with such frustration and to not even get an apology was just unbelievable. When I mess up at my restaurant job, I apologize profusely. She didn't even acknowledge it. This review is really a reflection on the driver and not as much on the company, I guess, but recommendations to the company after that night: give your customer their driver's phone number ahead of time (she was late; we couldn't reach her to see what was up and your company was closed for the night. If she didn't show up for whatever reason, our entire night would've been ruined), train your drivers to know geography better and reiterate the importance of punctuality... Recommendation to anyone renting ANY party bus: tip your driver at the end of the night and not at the beginning. We were torn on what we wanted to do but ended up giving it to her up front because of past experiences with getting treated better throughout the night. But we would've given her less if we had known what the end of the night was going to look like. She was sweet and we thought she was great for the majority of the night, which is why the end of the night was so unbelievably confusing. But standing outside in the cold for 40+ minutes while having to sober up to give directions to a driver was not how I wanted to end my night. read more

I'm planning a bachelorette party and we wanted a party bus for the event, so I started looking yesterday for the right one. I called a few companies last night and most of them seemed a little sketchy; they didn't announce the company when I called, just simply said, "hello?" So, I was frustrated and didn't want to call any more companies, but sent a few requests via website to the last couple companies at about 9p. When I woke up, I had an email from DJ Party Bus first thing in the morning, which was a pleasant surprise considering only one other company got back to me. I emailed back right away and, within an hour, had a response for more details for booking. I called Joe per his booking email and he picked up right away. He was very friendly, funny, and informative. I truly enjoyed our conversation and was very impressed with his customer service. He was even accommodating to our group requests, which is almost unheard of in the party bus industry. Overall, the booking process was very easy and I immediately received email confirmation and receipt of my deposit. Joe mentioned he would call the week of our event to confirm our booking and I am looking forward to that phone call! We haven't had our event yet, but if the customer service I received today is any indication of how our night will go, I am very excited and expect it will be a thoroughly fun night. Starting with Alex who answered her phone way beyond typical business hours for me to book the PINK JEWEL Wr used this bus for a bridal shower of about 30 women all wearing vintage bridesmaids dresses. I have used DJ Party Bus for two separate events: Halloween party and a Bachlorette Party. This past weekend we had the Mini Pink Jewel for one of my best friends Bachelorette party. Immediately when you walk in you can see they maintain their buses exceptionally. It was so clean, fresh, and had the perfect look with the pink detailing on the seats, the stripper pole and the lighting. When immediately hooked up the sound system and noticed in our 10-minute drive to our restaurant that the system was not working properly. Immediately our driver, Von, called the owner Alex to let him know as he understood a whole reason to rent the bus is for the music and to have fun. Both Von and Alex went above and beyond to resolve our issue and ensure that we would get the best quality of service possible. The fact that they both cared so deeply about this issue really showed our whole party that this was a company that cared about their customers. They could have easily said "o well not our problem" but that wasn't even a though in their mind! This company truly cares that you have the best time possible and that they provide the most exceptional customer service. Alex, the owner, immediately handled the situation with high priority and extremely professional; he is such a great owner and person to communicate with! I would not recommend DJ Party Bus Services. We researched a few companies and picked them due to their price being the best. We emailed back and forth with Alex a little about some questions before committing and were quoted a price. We had to call in to make the deposit and give CC info over the phone and when we called in, she said a more expensive price than what was agreed on in the email, but promised to honor that price since it was written out, so I made the deposit. The next day, she changed her mind and said she could not honor the price in our emails, which was very disappointing. We felt like we got tricked since our deposit was already made. Also, the day of the wedding, it was 90 degrees, and the bus' AC broke. We were melting. The bus driver eventually fixed it, but it wasn't until the end of our allotted time. Since there are plenty of party bus options in the Twin Cities, look elsewhere. read more
