    Lights and fog finale!

EPIC KARAOKE! DJ Purple is one of a kind - the lights, the fog machine, the saxophone, the harmonica, the props...you've never experienced karaoke like this. We hired DJ Purple for our wedding celebration and our guests absolutely loved it. I would also highly recommend booking both DJ Purple and his assistant - not only because the set up is quite elaborate but also because his assistant is the best hype-woman you could ask for. You will truly feel like a superstar.

Dancing along to great music presented well is also a great stress relief. Did I mention that?

DJ Purple faced the pandemic with a mission: to bring quality karaoke to Zoom. Pause for reaction, because we all know the limits of Zoom and what it can and cannot do-- on its own. Sure, we knew Steve as the hardest working KJ on land. Did we expect DJ Purple to make virtual karaoke sound so good? Well it turns out, Purple delivers a beautiful experience with his Zoomaroke shows! If you love music like we do, you understand why we go to his shows. The sound quality of the singer's voice matched with the music is unparalleled to any shows I've experienced online. The timing? You know how WiFi timing can typically throw the vocals way off? Purple makes sure he is correcting that on his side, so all we hear is harmonious bliss. It's good for us to listen as audience members to music that is synced up, balanced out, and coming through strong and true! It's also good for us to be able to see our audience as we sing, see well-timed lyrics clearly and hear the music well, to experience the song knowing we sound good. Purple makes sure to collaborate with singers just like he's always done: he's singing backup vocals (his range is amazing), playing his sexy saxophone, drawing on that harmonica, or playing the ever essential cow bell (more cow bell!) So we go to Purple's shows. He even got the technology figured out to get people to perform duets, and it sounds good!! Purple works continuously to bring quality entertainment to your online karaoke party experience. His persistent pursuit of giving us quality Zoomaroke has inspired a following of nifty Zoomaroke Kids who come back week after week for the best-sounding virtual karaoke dance party! Purple is professional, kind, funny, and so encouraging... while making it all about the singers. Special note, I really appreciate how Steve managed to galvanize the group for a very special birthday event (I'm still recovering from all the awesome birthday tributes). Technology: At the moment, typically if you have two (2) smart phones with Zoom apps on them, or a smart phone and a laptop/desktop computer with Zoom, you are set for singing. If you are great at reading directions, cool. Purple gives you step by step instructions. There's also a how-to video on the following link: www.djpurple.com/blog/zoomaroke If not, just skim the page for the gist of directions, and don't worry. If Purple can guide Yours Truly step by step at a Zoomaroke party, he can get you singing like that, that, that, and also that! *snaps fingers like we just listened to beatnik poetry* Oh want a Zoomaroke poem? Ok since I read your psychic fax: We chat on the chat while you sing or scat about your singing chops or whatnot. We woot for you, root for you because you belong. You're cute, cool, talented, you sure slayed on that song. This isn't a contest, it's only all love. It's Zoomaroke, with all the magic thereof. Wait, the songbook! www.djpurple.com/blog/songbook

The best sound in virtual karaoke. DJ Purple is very nice, supportive, and even plays the saxaphone on occasion. Nice crowd too!

Ask the Community - DJ Purple Dance Karaoke

I live closer to Palo Alto, so Wednesdays at the Patio would be closer, but would it make for a better birthday party/crowd/atmosphere to go up north into SF?

Hi Vhia! Thanks for asking! I think all my venues are pretty good for birthday celebrations - the bigger variation is there's no way to predict how crowded it's going to be. On the positive side - if it's a big crowd, there's more energy and a…

Do you have any public karaoke on Saturdays?

Thanks for asking Sarah! Unfortunately no I don't have any public shows on the weekends. It's hard to get shows going on those days because that's when I do most of my private events.

Inside, you have a two-level restaurant; I saw groups that were getting ready to celebrate birthdays and large groups gathering. You will find a beautiful bar. I would say my drink, the penicillin, was delicious. Now food- I had the Uni Pasta, and for some reason it was more on the sweeter side, which was unexpected to me. Probably would have ordered something else. It was not bad but not memorable. The duck fries were good and the calamari also good. There was an unpleasant smell that wasn't the food, and even the table next to me complained about it. While no one was able to pinpoint the cause of the smell, it lingered and truly made everyone uncomfortable. Overall, probably a great place for drinks and appetizers on my books.

They had a final closing party this past Saturday, and we knew we had to stop by for few last drinks and bites. It was low key kinda sad as we had to say goodbye to some of our favorites. Over the years (past decade or so now) we've gotten to know the staff and this spot has been a spot where we knew we'd get great service, good convos, and of course tasty wings, totchos, and $1 oysters on Thursdays. Shout out to Matt, Tracy, Jeremy, and their entire team for the amazing hospitality over the years. Paina closing is a reminder that it's important to not take your favorite restaurants/bars for granted because you never know when that final day will eventually come and when it does it comes way too fast. I hope the team reads this as I just want to say THANK YOU for everything and that you will be missed. The memories and moments I've gotten to enjoy here over the years won't be forgotten!
