I have been a customer of Jackson Hewitt for 20 years. That changed this year. I applied for an…read moreadvance refund loan in December and my account got "stuck." Their software is outdated and antiquated. My account is still "STUCK" and it is now February. The local office has been great and trying to get this resolved. The customer service on the phone is terrible. I have been lied to numerous times about my account and cannot seem to get any answers when escalating it. When I received a call back from a customer service representative, she flat out lied and said the location I was using was not longer a site. I was in the site that day! The customer service representative did not do her job! I was first told I would get a call back in 20-30 minutes. 2 hours later, I called back and after being put on hold numerous times, I was advised I would hear back in 72 HOURS! Escalating beyond the local office is a joke. They are not the issue, the company is the issue. I can go on and on! Their incompetence is going to lose them a 20 year customer! Save your time and money and go to another tax preparation service!

Well they didn't and when I called back to talk to him his WIFE NOT HIM got on the phone and basically said it was our fault because her husband went of what we gave them. Ummm excuse me? I did not file the incorrect information with Ohio they did. Not to mention his wife should have nothing to do with it. Well went in today and was told I would get a call with the correction before the end of the day. YEP YOU guessed it NO CALL NO TEXT NOTHING. We NEVER had this issue with Jackson Hewitt or the H&R Block on Washington in Junction City. I recommend staying far away from this place and petitioning to have it closed as they are just screwing people over.

Whenever we called we were told that it was in review and will be done soon. A month or so later after the April deadline we called them up and informed that they had to file an extension. Apparently not much was done with our return to begin with. We also were told a whole bunch of excuses of why the return took so long. Such issues as staffing shortages and continuing education. Nothing pertaining to our return. It is July and I am waiting on my PA refund. PA requires proof of service for active duty. Which I provided the accountant. Apparently that did not get sent to the PA department of revenue. I would not recommend getting your taxes done here. Unless you want to be waiting for refunds in July.

It was the best choice I've made. I set up an appointment less than 24 hours in advance for the lunch hour. The "receptionist" must have been a Tax Advisor herself because she was MORE than helpful in taking my information and matching me to someone with experience based on the answers I gave to her questions. (Again a completely different experience from the Junction City location in which their receptionists have NO clue what is going on within the confines of those walls,) I arrived on time to friendly and helpful faces. The location was quiet, clean, and convenient. I informed the receptionist that I was there for an appointment and I didn't even have to sit down to wait. Nor did I have to fill out the forms that the Junction City location makes you fill out before being seen. Apparently my information being in their computer for the last 10 years was enough for them. What a novel idea. Bring in Senior Tax Advisor 5 "Carolyn." One of the most pleasant ladies I have had the pleasure of meeting. A genuine, caring, sweet, intelligent, refreshing treat. I knew from the moment I sat down with her that I was in VERY capable hands and that I was NOT going to have another Junction City experience. What a relief. "Carolyn" walked me through everything step by step and even corrected the minor errors that had been repeatedly ignored over the years by the Junction City location. "Carolyn" was never in doubt with what she was doing and made me confident that regardless of the outcome, she was right. This may just be my favorite "5 star" rating that I have given. You just don't find customer service like this anymore. What a refreshing experience! I would HIGHLY recommend this location and "Carolyn" to have your taxes done.

Liberty got my tax returns done in speedy fashion (even with a schedule C) and the rates are reasonable. It was worth getting my tax returns done with so little effort on my part, getting deductions I wasn't expecting, and I don't think I've ever gotten a tax refund so fast.
