The location is nice, nothing fancy, but plenty of room to grab a table and eat your food there. I've added a few photos of the interior, since there weren't any yet on Yelp. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of my food, but there are already plenty of food pictures here, so I'll just talk about the food instead. I was in a group of three, and I had the two meat plate. I chose the sausage and ribs, with mac & cheese and potato salad as my sides. The potato salad was OK, but I really should've had double mac & cheese, since there was so much meat that I had plenty to bring home and make it a second meal. The ribs are amazing. So much meat. They gave me three full bones, plus a couple rib tips. For me, one bone and the rib tips, along with some sausage, was plenty. I brought the rest with me and am enjoying it as I write the review. The sausage is large, and has a little bit of a kick, but not at all too hot. I'd say it's between a mild and medium, but closer to mild. And the mac & cheese, homemade with large egg noodles and just the right amount of cheese, is delicious. They have a case full of cans and bottles of soda and water. For a treat, I opted for an orange soda, and it was very fun. One of the others in my group had the ribs and chicken plate, and the other one just had the rib plate. Everyone loved everything, including their sides. We haven't had a bad thing from here, ever. Service was both friendly and prompt. They have kiosks where you place your order, but because the cook wasn't busy when we first got there, he walked over and stepped us through that himself - a nice touch! It's co-located with a Chevron gas station, but there's plenty of parking right in front of the restaurant. The only drawback is that it's kind of off the beaten path, on the frontage road, so I'm hoping people will find it through these reviews and keep it flourishing. It would be easy to miss otherwise. It's definitely a gem, and I'm already looking forward to the next time we drop by!

However the sausage is good but much better if they were fresh. And to say you have loaded potatoes on special on Wednesday atleast have some fresh beef. You cannot cook food days in advance refrigerate a few days later and serve to customers gotta be really careful on those tactics old food makes people sick sometimes. However I don't mind supporting but for the price charged you should get fresh food not gathered from the refrigerator placed in the microwave and served if you know food as I do you can taste that it's been refrigerated and reheated. Not sure if I will support again upon walking in there is no barbecue aroma to say its that type restaurant.

The bf picked the 2 meat dinner with ribs and beef links instead with potato salad and baked beans. The beef link was phenomenal and the sauce he slathered on the ribs and all was really tasty. The bf said the BBQ is some of the best he had had so far in Houston. Portion size is humongous- the sweet gentleman is very generous with his offerings. One thing my friend told me before it's all part of Southern hospitality. They make sure you are well fed. $22+ with tax included and you get 2 meat n 2 sides that can easily feed a family of 3. I know the bf will definitely go out of his way to get there for delicious BBQ. Will return!

I'm not one to pass on BBQ so it was an easy decision. This food truck is located in the parking lot of a shopping center. The area isn't the nicest but it comes with the territory. I ordered the brisket and ribs which came with bread, pickles, and onions. I ended up passing on sides as they didn't have a lot left close to closing time. Craft BBQ doesn't come cheap but it's worth it. The "Smokin Oak" in the name of the business is fitting as the meat had a nice smoky/mesquite flavor to it. Both the brisket and ribs were quality but my favorite hands-down were the ribs. Generous portion too as it lasted me for two meals. And last but not least, friendly service. Next time I stop by my friend's place, Two Brothers will be high up on the list!

My partner had the brisket sandwich with potato salad and a small helping of pickles and pickled red onions and I had the pulled pork tacos. My partner said the brisket sandwich was okay, but we both agreed that the potato salad was fantastic! The potato salad was way better than the one at Pappas Barbecue. The taste of the pulled pork tacos was great, but it was honestly too wet and made the flour tortillas too soggy and there was way too much coleslaw on top. I feel like if Killen's is going to serve pulled pork tacos there needs to be three things done. 1. Serve the tacos with an option of corn tortillas because I feel corn tortillas would've worked better to give a great contrast/pairing with the sweetness of the pulled pork and sauce. 2. Serve the corn/flour tortillas on the side so that they don't get soggy and wet. 3. There are some things that just don't belong on a taco of any kind and that's coleslaw. My partner and I also tasted the banana pudding and to say it was divine is an understatement. What I really like about this pudding was that you could taste real bananas in this pudding and it had been mixed well all together. Our total was $80 after tipping, which is a little pricey for some of the items, but honestly I would definitely come back to Killen's Barbecue when I was in the mood for barbecue.

I couldn't wait for my second time to show even more family how awesome this place was. Well my second visit spent about $250 on the brisket and I was surprised on how far the quality went down, brisket was so dry that after my first bite I literally wanted to throw the entire brisket away, it was that terrible and everyone that had a bite agreed and couldn't see why I bragged so much about it initially. With that price and amount of inconsistency I doubt I'll risk another visit to Truth.

Here's what I had: Ribs: Top 3 of all time. Didn't even use sauce - delicious and perfectly tender as-is. Current best: Dinosaur BBQ in Syracuse, NY and other locations. Wet/Fatty Brisket: Top 3. Very tender. Current Best: Black's BBQ, Austin, TX Dry/Lean Brisket: Not rated. Pretty dry. But I don't love lean brisket to begin with. Current Best: Black's Sausage: Not rated. I had Jalapeño cheddar (they were out of the pepper jack that I would have gotten). The casing is fairly thick and hard to cut through with plastic utensils, and the inside is fairly dense. Current Best: Datil Sausage at Woodpecker's BBQ, Saint John's County, FL Baked Beans: Way better than I expected (and way better than they look, since they look like standard baked beans). I was glad I got them. Brussels: Better than expected - very tender, and the glaze/sauce they pour over is a great compliment. Overall, an outstanding meal. Easy to park. Not too crowded. A great stop on a work trip.
