My husband wanted to upgrade my wedding rings for our anniversary. We started at DK jewelers because I had no idea what I actually wanted. Bonnie was awesome, she took the time to let me try on everything and anything. She answered all our questions and gave us the pricing on the pieces we liked. I wanted to go to some other stores and see what they were offering as well so my husband and I did visit three other stores. Once I knew exactly what we wanted my husband and I both agreed we wanted to go back to DK's. No other store compared to the welcoming feeling and down to earth staff. So back we went to DK jewelers. Due to us custom creating our ring it took about 4 weeks, but it was well worth the wait when I picked up those rings. Absolutely stunning!! We are very happy we chose DK. read more

I am sure that all of the positive reviews are warranted IF you are buying from DK or having repairs. And I agree, they were very nice when I was in there. HOWEVER, DO NOT take your jewelry to them if you want to sell it. I had the experience that I found others have had...they'll give you a ridiculous low ball offer that borders on insulting. I took a 1 carat diamond ring, 4 other rings, a pendant/chain, and a couple of earrings to DK. And then waited 2 weeks to finally receive (what I knew to be) an insulting offer. Based on another similar review that I read about DK, I took the advice of the reviewer and took those pieces to the Frederick Coin Exchange. They offered me more for JUST the diamond ring than DK did for all of the pieces. In the end, I got more than twice as much for all the jewelry than DK offered. And BTW, this was all accomplished in less than an hour, not two weeks. So if you are buying or need repairs, I am sure you will be pleased. If you're selling...look elsewhere...or get ripped off. read more

This is a great place with very personalized service. The jeweler managed to rush a ring sizing for my man, in order for it to be ready to propose to me on a trip we had planned. Everyone has been more than accommodating and amazing to us!!! I can't wait to go in there again. read more

I will recommend them to anyone. Merri was a wonderful woman to work with to get my custom-made engagement ring created. She was extremely willing to go the extra mile to make sure i was happy! My Fiance said yes, and the first day they were open after the holiday they resized her ring that very day (no 2-week wait like other places we had called). I will go to them for my jewelry purchases in the future! read more

If you're looking to sell your scrap gold / jewelry, look elsewhere. I brought 3 pieces in and 2 1/2 weeks later, I received a low-ball offer. Took the pieces to Frederick Coin Exchange instead and got 3 times the price. read more

I am sorry to say but with all the glowing remarks I've heard about this jeweler, my experience was less than desirable. I called to see if my repair was ready and was told I would receive a callback shortly. 45 minutes is not what I call shortly. I decided to call back against my own best judgement and was put on hold. What unnerved me the most was when I brought my item in. Although the cost to repair my jewelry was well within an acceptable range, I questioned to myself why they wanted to know the value of the item and of course looked closely to see if the diamond was real or not. Call me paranoid, but I don't trust jewelers for the very reason they can replace your valuable diamonds with something fake. Sorry for the disappointing news but be weary of when people give glowing reviews and it doesn't always turn out to be the way YOU expect! read more

Each time the repair time was much longer than anticipated, in fact the last time after 6 weeks, I called to check on it only to find out it hadn't even been sent out yet. Manager is full of excuses. Will be going back this evening to pursue other options. Only reason why I have not given 1 star was because I had bought a necklace and earring set as a gift for my mother and have been fortunate enough for that piece to have zero issues with. Very unfortunate that I may have to purchase a different ring(s), if this cannot be resolved, since the ring you get for your wedding should be forever.

About three years later, he needed to have it resized and we took the ring to them for this service. When we picked it up, it fit him perfectly, but it was so very obvious that all 5 diamonds had been switched out and replaced with lower quality skit diamonds. We were completely shocked! When we brought it to the Managers attention and held it up to a new one in their case, he apologized and immediately gave us a brand new ring. He did the right thing and we remain satisfied customers. Please watch your diamonds when they go in for repair there.

Nick came to our home the very next day and repaired and cleaned our clock in under an hour. Nick is well versed in not only clock repair, but the history of clocks and their makers. In fact, he informed us that our clock was a Gustav Becker...a first heard for us! Nick will now be our "clock guy.". Thank you, Nick, for your professional and friendly service.

I paid $3200.00 to Maryland Clock and Watch for my antique non-running Herschede grandfathers clock…read moremovement to be overhauled. This clock was handed down to me from my grandfather. Its quite special to me. MC&W had my clock movement for about 10 months. I knew up front that it would take some time. Now back in my possession since Dec 22, 2020, how can this movement still have issues? The moon phase still does not work. I was assured it would after the overhaul. The chimes sound terrible due the hammers and tubes being out of alignment. I will say, it does maintain excellent time which is great, but that is 1/3 of the mechanical function of this clock, and to me 1/3 of the amount I had paid. Also, I did not get pictures sent to me during the overhaul process that I had been promised. When I brought this up I was then told I would get a comprehensive package including pictures with the return of the clock movement. Well, I received an invoice, "warranty" information and clock setting instructions. I haven't any proof that my movement was disassembled and overhauled. No pictures, no detailed information of what exactly what was replaced, cleaned or adjusted for $3200. I have been told more than once I will get a call and an appointment will be made to come out and look at my clock. To this day 4/04/21, no follow up appointment has been made to correct my clock issues. At this point, I have lost all faith in Maryland Clock & Watch. I will go elsewhere for the remaining repairs. I no longer feel as though they are a competent repair shop. FYI - Below is a more detailed description of the issues The moon phase dial will not move. I was assured this would be working. It should rotate to indicate when there will be a full moon. Strings - It doesn't make sense to me why the strings that pull the hammers and the strings that hang the tubes were replaced at my house and not at the shop? Obviously the movement was not tested properly before hand. Well over an hour was spent installing the strings for the hammers and the tubes at my house. Not all five strings, but four of the five strings were replaced by MC&W at my house. I still have one old original string that still remains, three of the new strings installed were provided by MC&W, and the fourth new string also installed by MC&W was "sewing thread"! Yes that's right, my "sewing thread". I was wondering why I was ask for string or thread? This is certainly not correct. The tone and volume of the chimes is not correct, one in particular is hard to hear the striking of the tube. After my inspection I see the hammers are not in proper alignment. Some hammers are resting against tubes, they should not do that. Also some of the hammers strike the sides of tubes and the top edges of the tubes, and again they should not do that. The tubes also are not in alignment to each other which compounds the problem. The tubes do not hang from the hooks at equal lengths. All off this should have already been done, inspected and tested. This is what makes me think that MC&W had someone else service the movement. Who really did the work I wonder? Lastly, any clock that operates with pendulum must be balanced. It is necessary so the clock is "in beat". My clock was never balanced. It was moved into the corner and left that way. It was gaining one minute a day. For weeks I was trying to adjust the speed of an unbalanced clock. I did end up balancing the clock, and now it keeps excellent time. I don't believe there is a clock or watchmaker on the premises at this time. I should have done a better job of seeking out a trained clock maker.

Today I visited DK Jewelers for the first time. I was in awe upon entering. The establishment is very inviting, has great lighting and displays, very clean, has unique items you won't find elsewhere, has wonderful staff that is eager to please and are very knowledgeable, has jeweler on sight, appraisals offered once a month, etc. etc. DK Jewelers is like no other. I was disappointed to see a friend of mine post a picture of their billboard condoning violence against women. They may think it's a funny slogan but I think it's disgusting. Please remove your billboard and replace it with advertising that doesn't promote violence. Until you do, I, along with many others will not be shopping at your store. Thank you read more
