I had an emergency surgery, when we were entering the OR the nurses noticed that at intake, someone neglected to remove my bunch of MY GRANDMOTHER'S SPECIAL BANGLES! Right in front of the Metro Center stop! Went here to get my necklace shortened and had such a wonderful experience. On contacted them on Yelp prior to visiting, and I was quoted $20, with the possibility of leaving the necklace there for a few days. During my visit, the jeweler examined my necklace and was able to shorten it on the spot for me for free (due to the material the necklace was made of). I went in with one of my watches thinking I needed to replace the battery only to find out the watch doesn't have a battery but it's based on wear for function, imagine that. They did place new battery in one of my watches and they were able to size my new coach watch! They were super quick I was in and out in about 20 minutes. I worked with Robert Laurence Jewelers in January 2019 to resize my engagement ring and design a new wedding band. It's been 19 months, and the engagement ring is broken, missing the platinum added as part of the resizing. I was seeking a wedding band to fit up against my engagement ring with a very low setting. It took some time, but the product and pricing were fine. I wish I'd been better informed that the band would show a divot as I would've picked a thicker band. Overall, working with the jeweler was a fine process. They weren't intimidating, were helpful and informative, and the pricing was appropriate (less than $1k for the resizing and new ring). I'm disappointed that the repairs did not last. read more

I have seen post saying a lot of businesses may be racist but I usually go anyway and allow myself to determine that on my own. This place is definitely racist. I came in with a Cuban link to get repaired and they told me it was fake. No testing, no weighing, barely even looked at it and said it was fake. I'm assuming they couldn't do the repair and that's why they told me it was fake. Then they tried to upsell me something for WAYYY over what it was worth. I ended up going to the mall and I got my Cuban link repaired within an hour. I wouldn't recommend this place to any person of color. read more

I walked in just before close on Monday to ask if they did in house jewelry repair as I needed to take the stone out of my engagement ring and ship the stone to an independent jeweler who would be working on a new setting for me. They said they definitely could and to bring it in and they would give me an idea of how much time it would take and costs. My husband works upstairs, and I work down the block so we met there for lunch the next day, Tuesday. I expected to drop it off and pick it up later in the evening or the next day and pay $100 or so. We were shocked when they did the work right in front of us in 5 or so minutes. I whipped out my credit card and all he asked in return was for us to donate to their charity of choice (there is a little box on the counter). I had $17 on me and wished I had more, but I stuffed it in the box and was so impressed by their service. I had dropped of my ring to be resized with an estimate of getting it back within a week; but, the next day they had called me already done! Not even 24 hrs. And the work was amazing! I had my ring sized down considerably (for my pinky finger) to which they replied that it may be too small of a fitting to get it to be a perfect circle, BUT THEY DID GREAT! I don't think my geometry teacher could've used a protractor to get a more perfect circle. read more

This is the only place that I come for watch repair in DC. I have been to watch repair / battery replacement kiosks in the mall and have been disappointed. The staff here is very professional and the quality is top-notch and fast. I had a Skagen watch battery replaced and it lasted 4 years! As a bonus they tag your batteries that are replaced and there is a one-year included warranty. I have yet to buy any jewelry here but have looked around and the inventory is nice. Because the gemstones were very sensitive to heat, the brooch needed to go out to have the bale added by laser. The result was a beautiful hidden bale and the price was very reasonable. My gold necklace broke and I went in to get a new clasp because their location is convenient - they reviewed all options with me thoroughly and offered customer made options or different types to make sure it doesn't break again. They had 14k clasps in-house but offered to order 18k for me and the customer made options could've gone higher too. They attached my new clasp right then and there without a charge. I just paid for the clasp. They were knowledgeable and so nice! I went in close to closing time but they didn't rush me at all. They were also doing 20% off on their gold and I got a beautiful new chain for a small pendant at a nice price as well.
