Daniel is a great business owner and kind and thoughtful. I've heard good things about this company y but never actually needed the services.... I recently noticed that one of his work trucks had a headlight out. I called and left a message. It's a weird thing to do but fixing a lightbulb is cheaper than a fix-it ticket is you get pulled over for it so I figured I'd call. Daniel was very appreciative and we ended the call. A while later, i received another thank you message from him and he asked for my address so he could send a thank you gift. It's just another example of people being kind to each other these days. As if anyone in their right mind would have faith in a verbal quote derived from a 5 minute discussion the two clowns (owners) of DMG Landscaping needed to have "in private" standing on my lawn. No cost of materials or catalog referencing, no looking up of any sort of information on their mobile devices, just visual scanning my property along with things which have nothing to do with the landscape related job I requested a quote for, Like the home, the garage, the car parked in the garage. Clearly basing the verbal quote on a superficial assessment of my pocket depth. Which in this case was $30K. Then confirming my suspicion by telling me "if you want the quote in writing it's $300" And all delivered in a condescending manner as if plant care and landscaping were rocket science. These guys are fantastic! I needed to install a french drain because of water pooling at the base of my house. Daniel responded quickly and was able to start the work the next day. His team of workers did a fantastic job and left the site looking beautiful. Daniel followed up a few days later after the first rain to make sure everything was working properly. In October and November our area was hit with significant rainstorms and it quickly showed to be a major issue. We had a pool we didn't sign up for due to old and missing drainage and un-leveled grounds. I spoke to 4 other companies before deciding to go with Daniel and his team at DMG. Daniel showed up and immediately instilled confidence that his team would make the backyard of our dreams. His approach when planning was worlds different from the others and they crushed the job in record time, with impeccable quality. Daniel's team is a close group of very detail oriented individuals, that really care about the craftsmanship behind their work. They're always on time, they work hard through the day, double and triple check their work, and most importantly are constantly communicating. We needed to add RV parking to the side of our house. This also included replacing the fencing in the front and installing a large gate. We decided that rock would be the best for our situation. Daniel and DMG are amazing. We live in Penngrove and they did a paver back patio for us and a firepit area made from decomposed granite. Daniel was responsive and responsible every step of the way. Daniel and his team did an excellent job installing completely new landscaping and irrigation in my backyard. His rate was very reasonable and he communicated well and showed up on time and kept me posted as to the progress. I was out of town during that time but he always kept me updated. Avoid this company. We have had them service our lawn for many years. After the original owner left, his son took over and the quality of their work went downhill as well as their customer service. They essentially ruined our lawn by cutting it every week after being asked not to. They also trimmed bushes down to the bark resulting in the bush having to be torn out because it looked so bad. We did try to have many conversations about the issues but felt pretty much that our concerns were brushed off. Now we are laying down new grass seed to try and salvage our lawn. I gave two stars only because we thought well of the father who was the original owner. This company needs to do better. read more
