Lee and his guys were superb movers, a joy to work with, and very generous. We severely underestimated how much time we would need them for (to load a 26' truck three times for a cross neighborhood move), but but they were able to accommodate (on a weekend when every mover seemed booked). Lee even came back the next day to haul the final load for free, because he had a few spare hours with a truck between jobs. Great price. DMS moving service did an amazing job moving my belongings from my one bedroom apartment across the city. When I called various moving places in the middle of July, everyone said they were booked for an August 1 move and wanted an extremely detailed account of all of my belongings before they would even consider the move. DMS listened to the type of move I needed, made time for me within their packed schedule, AND held my belongings overnight from July 31 to August 1. They were extremely punctual and called to confirm the appointment time as well as to update me on their status before they arrived. They were overwhelmingly accommodating with the times I needed based on the times I had an elevator reserved and based on my schedule. They worked very closely with me throughout the whole process and always promptly answered if I called with questions. During the move, the men were kind, courteous, and professional.They moved my belongings while taking very good care of them. These guys are incredible. First of all, I called on a Sunday afternoon asking for movers for Monday night. They said it would not be a problem. On Monday I was closing on a condo so the time I needed them could fluctuate. They said it would not be a problem. They showed up early, worked their asses off, and moved everything. At $199/3 hours, and their hard work, there is no better deal in town. We had Brian and Larry as our movers...they are super humans. I did my research and saw that this was a black owned moving company. I'm all for it. They accommodated my move even when they where booked. For that I am grateful. They didn't receive 5 stars because I ended up paying much more outside of my budget. Nothing was broken (and I practically threatened them to not break my dear deceased grandmothers China cabinet) maybe a chip here or there or a screw missing but nothing worth getting upset for. The men where friendly and my father liked them (he's a tough critic). I would definitely recommend them to anyone in the future! read more

DO NOT BOOK THIS MOVING COMPANY - after arriving 6hrs late (despite confirming the time twice the day before and booking weeks in advance) with lies, excuses, and ETAs changing every hour, they broke 2 bookshelves, got dirt on my mattress, reassembled my bed incorrectly, and still charged for the full job. I had to Uber to a hardware store because they didn't bring an Allen wrench, couldn't disassemble my bed without one, and refused to provide one themselves. I'm sure I will find more negligence and damage as I check my boxes. I understand the high reviews because I have moved with this company for the past 2 years without problems, but they have gone completely off the deep end. Price was right and that's about all. They arrived with2 people & 1 small U-Haul to move a 4 bedroom house plus our garage and shed. I told the owner we have a lot of stuff. I tried to overestimate the amount. He came to the house and said yes it a lot here. Well, ya think! Let get started with the moves everything is smooth. Then around 2 the move begins to go extremely slow. We are paying buy the hour. The garage and shed are the only places that need to be packed. Probably 2 or 3 things for in the basement but nothing too big. They didn't finish our move until 11pm. There were 2 more guys and a truck coming at 12 if we paid $700 more. Needless to say, they never showed. Just the owner and a pickup. Furniture was not put where we asked or reassembled. We had to call and ask where certain items were located. Lastly they damage 2 dressers and a mirror. When I called the owner said it's not covered if it's not in a box. This company never said that dressers should be placed in a box. The only items we were told must be in a box were the televisions and mirrors. The TVs traveled in our vehicles but the mirrors that were in boxes still managed to get damaged. 2 dressers 1 mirror gone. Please do your homework before hiring any moving companies. read more

These guys are the real deal, quite possibly this city's best-kept secret. They have a very start-up-business feel, which means they are still making a name for themselves so they work hard, and ask you to do a Yelp review for them after all is said and done. Lee manages the front-office stuff, he was very helpful and honest about all the costs with no hidden surprises. He saved my number to his phone and always answered my calls with my first name, now that's commitment to your customers. They supplied their own truck, and let me keep the truck overnight behind my new apartment to be unloaded the next day (for a fee), 3 hours to pack, 1 hour to unload across 2 days at the times I requested. Not many places will do all that for you. The truck they had sent over was much smaller than I expected, however the guys packed the truck so efficiently and professionally I was legitimately shocked they managed to fit everything in. The workers were very professional and didn't take any shortcuts, they wrapped all the mattresses and wood furniture, and brought all their own equipment. Not to mention, some of them are pretty funny to joke around with. I can conceive that you may or may not get some bad eggs depending on who is available that day, but I had nothing but praise for the crew I had. Would gladly use these guys again, I kinda hope they don't get too popular otherwise they might be harder to book in the future :) read more

I want to say Dms took a load off me after having to find someone willing to come in and complete a unfinished move from another company. They are professional, curtious and on time. They treated each piece as if it was there own. Although we had some items that took some time and thought to get out of home they never gave up nor in. Booked this company to move me because I noticed they had good reviews and was close by... unfortunately after speaking with Nana, he stated my moving job couldn't be done in the time frame requested. I had already booked online and my card had been charged so I asked for an immediate refund. I had already paid $400 so I didn't want to go any higher than that... That was on June 1st a week later still no refund every time I call And don't get an answer, I instead I get a text from a different number saying I'll call you right back. Lee always says he's not in the office and he'll call me back and doesn't... sorry to be leaving this bad review but I was looking forward to using this company if not now then later in the future read more

First time I used this moving service (about four years ago) everything went great, they came in and moved me with no problems. So when I needed to move again, DMS was the first service that came to mind. Well, things seem to have changed since that last move. They showed up in a truck that was too small to handle all my belongings (they could not close the back of the truck) and as I took my time opening boxes at my new apartment I started to realize that not all my things had made the trip! Had a seven piece sectional pit - only six pieces made it to the new apartment. No sight of a number of boxes with dishes and towels. I scheduled my move with Lee via email and he was very helpful and his response time was so quick. I also spoke to one of his associates in the office a few times and she was also very helpful and polite (I apologize, but can't recall her name). My movers were Nana, Brian, and William (again, apologies if I got any names/spelling wrong). The guys were great! They were friendly, (funny!), strategic and everything went so smoothly. I wish I could give more than 5 stars because that would more appropriately represent how amazing these guys were! First of all, they came within an hour of my initial, last minute call. Larry and Dorian were our movers and they were extremely diligent and were able to move a very large, very heavy sofa bed up a extremely tight stairwell and through some very tight doors. It took more than one try and some creativity but they never gave up and got this impossible job done. I highly recommend using this company! read more
