Walked in on a Friday afternoon, made my way through the gauntlet (a silly maze which was by far the biggest ordeal I encountered during this trip to the BMV) and took my place in line behind four other people. Within five (that's right, five!) minutes I was greeted by a cheerful lady who took my documents for tags and invited me to take a seat on the bench lining one wall of the BMV. No less than three minutes later, I was being called to window four where I wrote the check, received my tags and walked out the door. These ladies have a system and it is obviously working. Which leads me to wonder, why is this not a system implemented by all BMVs? Last year at the Mason branch, we stood in line, many moons passed, civilizations were created and destroyed. I had some lady beg me for my spot since she had to pick up her kids after school (of course I gave it to her) and then I stood at the window for about ten minutes while papers were processed, "i"s dotted and "t"s crossed, before I made my escape. At the Middletown branch, I spent ten minutes. There. Line, window, everything. Ten minutes. Thank you, Middletown BMV!

He took the time to personalize and write out a letter explain to me in detail what was going on and made himself available for any questions that I have in the future. I greatly appreciate the professionalism as well as the great attitude and friendliness. I am extremely happy that this is my new neighborhood. One particular carrier's day is spent on socializing insteadi of paying attention to his job. He has been suspended more than once but is back even more incompetent than before. If our mail looks important or official it will surely be lost or delayed. If it looks like junk we get all he can shove in the box. I am now missing 3 medications that they said was delivered on Friday. Nowhere to be found.

Since I work a block away, and work for an attorney, we use this branch for major mailings to courthouses and work that requires certificates of mailing, registered mail, or stuff that is simply too large to be weighed on our postage machine. I have never had a negative experience, (unlike at the Florence PO). The building is gorgeous, the staff are courteous, efficient and I find, very helpful and friendly--greeting their regular post office box customers by name, and giving helpful options when asked questions regarding best ways to mail---sometimes mulitple mailings with proof of mailing and statutory considerations can be confusing, and they don't seem to mind letting you work it out right then and there. I don't mind parking at meters, but unless we're in a hurry to beat a filing deadline or have a last minute filing that requires registered mail, I simply walk there. Glad to have such a competent P.O in our corner!

Stopped in to get a FBI/BCI background check. The office is on the first level of the justice…read morecenter. Plenty of parking up front and around, I'm sure it can get pretty busy though. The sheriffs office is open 24/7 to check in inmates. This comes in handy when you just need a background check, no appointments needed since they're literally open all the time. We were in and out in about 15 minutes. The lady up front was so kind and nice. I was expecting someone harsh who is used to dealing with inmates but we got the complete opposite. I really appreciate her willingness to let us in the back office so my little could play. Underneath a cute aquarium is a stack of sheriffs coloring books, crayons and junior deputy badges. It's so refreshing to have this available for our kids. Hubs was fingerprinted in no time, electronically. The cost was $66 and it takes 6-8 weeks for the results to come back via webcheck. The lady was very thorough and made sure our paperwork had all the right codes and addresses to be sent to.
