It appeared at first the movers were fairly nice, but this was quickly lost when the movers intentionally threw away my form that noted damages to the property, and as I left for work had my significant other sign the same form again. I also overheard the movers saying if they didn't get a tip they were going to cut cable lines outside. I would not recommend this company, they are crooked and deceitful. Our move fell through and we had to store the truck load for over a month before we found a new place to live. we finally get a place and move in and they get the truck unloaded. While unpacking we found there are boxes that are completely gone, along with items that were not boxed. Company claims they aren't liable because they didn't pack the boxes. I would not recommend DN Van Lines to anyone for any move. We had a relatively simple move. While we had a lot of stuff, we did all of our own packing and the distance to our new home was less than 8 miles from our old home. Somehow this took over 10 hours. Things began with them backing into the newell post on our front porch, cracking it down the middle and taking a chunk out of the side. I heard the crack and ran out...they simply looked at me. As the truck was now pulled all the way up, the damage wasn't evident until the next morning. There were 2 guys spotting the driver and they all chose not to acknowledge it. Next, while carrying a dresser down the stairs, they created a very long, very deep gouge in our wall. My daughter saw it and immediately spoke up. Again, no acknowledgment. No apology. Since this house was going on the market, we quickly (the next morning) met a painter to have it repaired. There was more than $1,000 worth of damage that we had to have fixed. Additionally, we discovered a chair and a mirror had been damaged in the move. Again, no acknowledgment. We understand that things happen, but to just continue on without bringing things to our attention is simply unacceptable. We reached out to DN Van Lines a few days later. We were told, "unfortunately you should have reported this right away". While we understand this, moving is a hectic event and our focus was on unpacking and settling in as well as getting the damage repaired to our old house. We were told to submit a claim, which we did. My husband was adamant with the 3 different people he spoke to that he was more upset about the lack of acknowledgment than the damage itself. It felt quite dishonest to us, since it was absolutely impossible that the crew didn't know these things happened. So after some back and forth with the General Manager at DN Van Lines, they all went radio silent. Apparently their focus is on collecting the fee. The elaborate claims made that they are laser-like focused on customer service is nothing more than a marketing campaign. There is no scenario in the world where we would use or recommend DN Van Lines. They are disappointedly careless, not forthcoming and unprofessional, all the way up the chain. read more

We hired DN Van Lines for our move from Massachusetts to North Carolina because the ability to have next day delivery was important to us. We were willing to pay more for this feature. The loading crew showed up at the absolute tail end of the window we were told and then once the load was completed the driver informed us he would be 3 hours earlier than expected and asked us to coordinate with the unloading crew. We called DN and they assured us the driver would simply wait until the crew arrived. The driver texted us the day of the unload letting us know he would actually be 2 hours late. We again had to inform DN and they said the crew schedule couldn't be moved so instead of unloading at noon we now had a window of the crew showing up between 5 and 6PM. Here we are at 6:15 and the unloading crew still has not arrived. Not only did we somehow end up coordinating most of what we hired DN to do, they also assured us that even though the mix up was THEIR FAULT, don't worry, they wouldn't charge us extra. Do not bother with this company. Edit to update: the original loading crew never showed, they sent a different crew of 2 guys, not 3. We had to help unload the truck in the rain. We hired DN to move us from Massachusetts to North Carolina. We purposefully chose them and paid a lot more than we otherwise would have because of the guarantee of next day delivery and complete and total coordination of the move. From the start, it was a debacle: the courier they hired out arrived two hours late which threw off the entire schedule of the move and left us to essentially pick up the slack of re-coordinating the move. As a result, the delivery of our items (originally promised for 12pm) was delayed until 8pm and the delivery crew (we were promised 3 movers) consisted of only two movers. The driver was left to sit waiting for the crew they promised and that WE had to track down and find out where they were. The company was impossible to get a hold of after hours by any means and we were left completely in the dark. They refused to discount what turned out to be their extremely overpriced service, considering they ended up being glorified middle men. We used this company to move to our house in a different state and had anawful experience. First, we very clearly communicated that we needed to moved out of the apartment by 5pm that day. So what genius idea does this company have to assure a smooth move... show up with a HALF FULL TRUCK for another move they were doing. They were only able to load about a half of the items we needed to move onto the truck. We needed to rent a u haul and have myself and my 60 year old father in law load the u haul for the rest of the move (and unload at the house). When the movers moved in the Furniture to our new house.. a lot of the new furniture was dinged. Very little care was taken with our items and they were clearly trying to rush to get to their other jobs. The worst part of the whole experience was when discussing our horrible experience with the company the coordinator, Liz, rudely said "I AM NOT DISCUSSING PRICE WITH YOU SIR" almost as if to say we provided you a horrible service and we take no responsibility for how horrible and stressful we made the day for you. If I wanted to rent 2 U Hauls and make the move ourselves we would have done that. Based on my experience with the incidents below, I advise others to look elsewhere for a trustworthy, reputable moving company. A general rule in conducting good business is practicing with a Business Code of Ethics and training your staff on the general Codes of Conduct. TO BEGIN: I'm shocked by the way DN Van Lines treat their customers. I've hired DN Van Lines twice, which I think is loyal considering the vast number of moving companies in the area. It's a simple situation they take no ownership of resolving. When someone makes an inquiry (online or by phone) for a move, movers typically require a deposit to reserve a date "officially" to book the reservation. I have no issues with this. However, deposits are supposed to be applied and deducted from the total amount due once a move is complete (dependent on the materials used, hours, and so on). On the day of my move, the foreman didn't document my cash payment or communicate it to the moving companies office staff. Instead, he misled me to believe the payment in cash for the full amount was an option; he said the office would later credit the card the overpayment. I believed him, especially since the boxes showing deposits (CC, check, or cash); applied were left blank. He misled me to think I would receive a credit back to my card for the deposit. I questioned this with the foreman, and he said, "No problem, the office will take care of it." That never happened. I even added the guys a gratuity to be split amongst the three of them. I'm really so shocked! They collected the total in cash, PLUS gratuity, nodded their heads like the office would take care of the amount due back on my card. Wow! I'm disappointed and plan to report this to the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General's office for violating the Massachusetts Consumer Protection Law. *** Other consumers should be aware and tread with caution. DN Van Lines staff knowingly mislead me. The foreman's UNFAIR and DECEPTIVE actions are enough for me to write this review to advise others looking for a good moving company -- to go elsewhere. Please, hire the right moving company, with so many to choose from; I would have opted to go with ones closer to Downtown Boston and pay a higher rate with their commuting time, rather than dealing with this aggravation and disrespect. You're going to entrust them with all your belongings (business or personal). Why not choose a company whose reputation and top-notch. I should also mention the movers backed into my mailbox while leaving my house, knocking it down without so much as an apology. This has been, by far, a ridiculous experience--what a waste of time. D N van Lines was my mover. To say the experience was a nightmare does not do it justice. I received four bids for the task. All were within $150. I selected D N as they were the cheapest. I provided a list of every piece of furniture with measurements. Little was left to the imagination. When the task was complete I was presented with a bill 35% higher than the quote. I asked, 'Why so high?". The mover's reply, 'You have a lot of stuff'. Is N D Corrupt? Perhaps. Incompetent?, definitely Additionally, the mover destroyed three lampshades. These guys were hired by ArcBest (relocation company my new employers paid for) to pack & load us up in Boston, and they were such a pleasant surprise. Gabriel, Santiago, and Leo were polite and professional. They packed all our belongings up with so much care (almost to the point of excess but better that than carelessly). It took them about 8 hours to pack & load our 2 bedroom apartment, but I think a lot of this might have to do with my borderline hoarder tendencies. Only one thing got damaged: the corner of our TV stand got crushed from the way it was loaded vertically into the truck, but in the grand scheme of things, I was impressed there was only one small casualty in the battle of moving. read more

I got a phone call this morning saying that since they were supposed to come between 2pm& 4pm and a guy said he want to come in late they were just going to come tomorrow because they might not get to me until 8pm. I told the guy that they confirmed being here between 8-12 and not 2-4, that it was unacceptable that they were changing because I have checked out of my hotel and was not able to book another. I have a child here and I'm not making her sleep on the floor due to your company's last min changes. Was told that I would receive a call back after speaking with the crew and figuring out how to get my house hold goods today. I have yet to receive a call back. During my pack out the movers didn't bring any boxes to the pack my televisions. They wrapped them all in brown paper and tape. My mattresses were just thrown on the truck without being wrapped. My computer desk was broken during the load. I have had a bad experience with them from day one. **Amended to 3 stars after call from manager at DN Van Lines, who was honest about the situation - he was apologetic and offered one hour of credit back. Movers were very professional and careful. All of my furniture -- including a digital piano and large mirror -- arrived undamaged and expertly wrapped/assembled, a testament to the team's experience. However, I was charged $2261 after receiving an estimate of $1564 ($149/hour x 10.5 hours) for a studio move from Boston to NYC. $300-400 of this was because the drive from Boston to NYC took 7 hours instead of the estimated 4.5. Before picking DN Van Lines, I had raised my concerns about Fri afternoon traffic and asked them to come as early as possible. They gave an 8-9 am window and arrived at 9:10 am (which I think is reasonable but could have been better). For reference, I made the drive separately in 5 hr 15 mins when we left at 11 am and Google Maps was showing a 4 hr 15 mins drive time at 10 am, so leaving earlier could have made a substantial difference (traffic snowballs through the afternoon). Now I completely understand that no one can control traffic, and I understood the risks going in, but I would have expected a company with so much experience moving between Boston and NYC to work a bit more with me on this -- this was a pretty ordinary Fri afternoon from my experience. I certainly didn't enjoy paying 45% extra and movers charging $149 an hour to sit in traffic. We used DN Van LInes. First, in April 2021, to move our items into storage (their storage facility). That experience was beyond five stars. We had four men that showed up as a team and worked together as a team. You may wonder if that service was so excellent, then why only 1 star. We closed on our house in June 2021, and we planned on moving into our new home end of July 2021. Although we asked for the same team we had in April (thought six weeks' notice was enough to ensure we got the A-Team), we were told no guarantee on which unit would be there for us. In April, two trucks were full of furniture and boxes to put into storage for us. Day of move-in, only one truck shows up. The team that showed up for us wasn't the A-Team we hoped for; in fact, it would be the F-Team - worse group of movers. Worth noting they fought with each other, to the point my husband thought he would have to call the police. The truck driver was on time, and it is worth noting it was one of the A-Team; we were excited until the driver said we do not have the same crew as in April. The other three members showed up 45 minutes late in their vehicle; I asked where the other truck was. I am told it isn't coming until we are done here, and they go back to get another truckload out of storage. The truck that is there gets unloaded, the crew forced some stuff up our stairs and made a hole into our ceiling, they made dents into the walls. I expected scuff marks and such, but the damage done shouldn't have occurred if the crew knew what they were doing. The crew realizes that the sofa needs to be hoisted over our balcony (I wish I could post the video). The sofa has straps around it, but the straps start sliding off; I thought my couch was landing in my pool. Three of the crew members left without furniture being put together. The A-Team member leaves with the truck. (come to find out, he went to get my other truckload of belongings). The three crew members came back, and no one was there to help the driver to unload. The crew members come back and decide to lay down on our lawn (have pictures of that). One of the crew members came into the house to help the driver finish putting things together. I have hardware that went missing, so some of my furniture couldn't be put together. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, they don't care about you as a customer. read more

I'm writing to express my severe disappointment in your company regarding my most recent military move in June 2020. I tried adding this review to Google, but it seems that in less than an hour, my review got removed. So, I'm posting not only my initial Google review, but the response of the owner/responder, as well as my response to them, in the original post, everywhere I can so it can be seen, and will be contacting the "owner/representative", yet again, tomorrow. I'm a 14 year veteran, active duty military. I have had many moves through different companies. This one was by far the worst. They were late by 30 minutes past their latest arrival time, at 11.30, when I was given from 8AM-11AM for arrival/packing. That may not seem like much of a discrepancy, but when you told your movers that you have at least 6,000 lbs of household goods to move, and no one shows up to do at the very least, a Skype walkthrough of your goods, and you have 3 people show up...they don't leave until midnight. I have never had movers show up late after a 2 hour grace period; in the past moves I've had, I've always gotten a call within at least an hour of the movers' arrival, asking if I was prepared for them to arrive, and they gave me an estimated time of arrival, unlike what I got in my most recent move through this company. I tried adding this review to Google, but it seems that in less than an hour, my review got removed. I've attached some pictures of my move on delivery day; again, the pictures provided are just from the delivery day. There are at least an additional 15 broken damaged items, if not more. I still have not unboxed everything as the delivery showed up 4 hours late, at almost 3 pm on delivery day. I just wanted them out of here. My initial pack didn't start until 11:30AM, and went until almost midnight the same day. Far from a good experience. In the pic, where they just opened the door, it's pretty obvious that my "high value item generator" wheel (brand new, never used) did not "fall off" as stated in the owner/representatives' response below; it's very obvious that it had been broken off as seen in the very bottom right of the picture. The first few pictures, although they may not mean anything to civilians and/or movers who know nothing about them, are accomplishment certificates I earned for such things as going through the Panama Canal and crossing the Equator on a military vessel, and are not replaceable. Even so, if it was a $5 poster, they should at least have had a tube (as most moving companies do, and every company I've had in the last 14 years has had) to preserve them. However, how could I possibly expect them to provide tubes for my certificates when halfway through my move, they told me, quote, "they might not have enough packing material", even though my move weight came in at only 500 pounds over my estimate... (Every other moving company I've had, has had MORE than a surplus of their packing materials. Not to mention, no one ever came by to do a walkthrough, or at the very least, even video call to get an estimate of the weight/items/manpower needed to move me.) They didn't come with the proper supplies, and even though the military certificates were out laying flat, they were folded and stuffed in the bottom of a box. My sound bar for my TV, along with a stand alone computer, were also just packed in a box with other items and NO additional padding. The soundbar did not make it. The second picture is my couch with both arms broken, as they were/are cutting costs and seemed to be overpacking their truck to save money. Again, total disregard for my property. To make it worse, as I am military they tell me they don't assume responsibility, but want to know my complaints to bring it up in a "company meeting"; instead I have to go through the contracting company that chose them. Don't be scammed by this company. (Tried to add pictures on their FB page, but as they don't seem to allow them..I can only imagine why)...I cannot add them. From courteous calls, to warm confirmation check-ins, and timely 30-minute warning calls. Further, the movers themselves were absolutely prepared and professional in both demeanor and expertise. They knew all the secrets and tips that made the load and unload more efficient and effective. This included knowing how to navigate a non-reserved elevator without peeving off my NYC neighbors... And that's saying a lot, because many didn't even have coffee yet. The office called me a week in advance to confirm, and helped me get the moving van permits. 48 hours before, they reconfirmed, and the crew called 30 minutes out to let me know when to expect them. They packed the truck pretty quickly for the short move in town. They wrapped everything so that there would be no damage, and took away an Ikea closet that I had taken apart & was not moving with. They were extremely professional, prompt, and followed through as they said they would. Their movers were all very professional, kind, and courteous. Liz helped us put together a multi day move and up until the last day of the move from storage all was moving along smoothly. Yes we have broken items that frankly the .60 on the pound really doesn't cover the cost of sculptures, antique shaker baskets, expensive pottery, breaking. We should have taken out additional insurance on those type of items, live and learn but that was not the worst. During the last day of moving we began to open boxes as they were coming off the truck to find an item. What happen next is the thing that really was disturbing... My wife later reached into a box from the last shipment and pulled out a water bottle half filled with urine! Mind you we do not drink bottle water at the house and we went and got water for the team. When I brought this to Oded's attention he asked all the members of the move team and surprise no one admitted to it. Here is his quote " The only similar situation I've ever dealt with was when a customer complained that items that were clearly trash, like empty bottles of detergent were packed. In that case we explained that our crews are taught not to judge what is rubbish and what is not. As the idiom goes, "one man's trash is another man's treasure." Is it possible that this was bottle was somewhere in the house and just packed?" Insulting is how I would take this. Oded mentioned that he could find No motive for the action with his team No pattern of this type of behavior ( I would hope not!) No one confessing to doing therefore it is something that can not be explained while acknowledging it did happen. Look I don't care how he handles it within the business. We spent over $16k on this move and I expect a certain level of professionalism and decorum. Just imagine your wife pulling out a water bottle from a box half filled with urine. In my case, the bed frame was stacked against the wall and was left behind. However the manager is working with me to get the bed frame back to the destination. The customer service person who spoke to me when I tried to explain the bed frame situation was rude and not helpful. But after escalating my concern to the manager, it was taken care of. read more

We hired this company for our move because they had very reasonable prices. Kathleen in the office was awesome. Very nice and professional. Moving day we got 3 guys. I'd call them friendly and somewhat professional. Professional as in nice to my husband, son and myself. But two of them frequently argued with each other, which I don't consider professional. The guy that took apart our couch and bed did NOT do a good job. We paid extra for this service and had to go back and fix his work. He cut the slats that go under our bed. Didn't ask us if he could and that made the frame not line up right. My husband had to fix it. He also didn't screw the headboard into the frame. He literally left it just sitting on it and never mentioned this to us. Later that day when making the bed we found out. We don't know what he did with the screws so my husband had to go to the hardware store and get more. Took probably 2 hours to get our bed back to normal. He also didn't put our couch back together right. One side of the reclining couch wasn't working until we fixed it. That guy also misplaced the electrical cord for the reclining couch and we had to go thru about 50 boxes/bags to try and find it. That really angered one of the other guys. The positives were that it came in under the estimate. The 3rd guy couldn't have been nicer. Anytime I offered to help he wouldn't hear of it. So I'd probably use this company again if I ever move and probably recommend it but hopefully I don't get that crew member who messed up my furniture again read more

They meticulously packed all my boxes and inventoried everything. Each item got a red sticker on it with a three digit code which corresponded to the inventory. Top notch stuff! I was especially impressed with how they packed the glassware. Each piece was wrapped and stacked in a pattern inside a extra strong box. They also packed the mattresses in boxes where a lot of moving companies use flimsy mattress bags. Again, top quality. I hired DN Van because they had the least complaints with the BBB than any other mover I received quotes from. They were actually the highest quote I received, too. Based on what I had, they said it would take about 4 hours. They took 8. And as such, they were over $200 more than the quote. The movers were strong, young guys. But I overheard them goofing around on the truck and after about 10 minutes one of the guys said "alright, we've gotta stop this or we're not getting a tip". Not exactly what I wanted to hear...and not exactly what I wanted to see. The only reason they didn't get fewer stars outta me is because everything was in tact during the move and no bumps or bruises to my stuff. And at the end of the day, that's what you hire movers to do. read more

I have moved many times in the past. These folks are professionals. Move was seamless. They took great care of stuff. I couldn't ask for more for a great price. They were courteous and charged me per hour basis for the hours they worked. They were in a hurry to finish and not a moment we're they idle. I would certainly recommend them. We used them to move a 3 bedroom apartment, 2 storage units and a garage into a 2 story new build house with basement. They did an amazing job. All 4 of the movers were polite, professional and extremely respectful of my property. They were happy and cheerful the entire time even while carrying heavy furniture up or down a flight of stairs. I've used these guys twice in two years for my previous moves. The only negative about them is I feel like an absolute wuss when I see how much of my stuff they can carry by themselves, and it's not like I'm some weakling myself. Anyway, everyone from the customer service reps to the movers are very professional, efficient, and super friendly. On my last move, they even took the time to assemble my bed, eventhough I told them not to worry about it...and of course, they put it together better than any of the times I did it myself. (I got used to the squeeking every time I got in it. I figured it was just, you know...from use...annnyway...) AND they even repaired my end tables which were always wobbly(!) I hired them at the end of this year and they did what they said. Got a good initial quote from them they were under the time they said they would. I'm slowly starting to packing my things now from the move. The staff doing the move was friendly, responsible and seemed like they cared for my items (when most of it I think is junk! ha!). But they arrived on time and did a good job in my opinion. Moving is possibly one of the WORST things to do in the world, and they did a good job making mine stress and back pain free for me. ******UPDATE******* So since my first move a few years ago, I've used them a couple times since, and I'll take them down to a 4 star review from my original 5. Overall, this is a quality shop and I was overall pleased with the service and everything they offered for moving. Again, moving is literally one of the worst things human beings can do, and to have somebody do it, it truly is amazeballs. So I'm knocking them down to 4-stars for a couple of reasons: 1. They can be a bit pricey, but I think they generally offer a bit more service, both pre-and post move, from other companies that I've worked with in the past, so it has its pluses and minuses. And... 2. Couple of times they broke a couple of miscellaneous items during the move, but they were misc stuff and easily replaceable. I was able to talk to management and have them replaced or whatever, so it worked out in the end. Overall DN is a good option if you are looking for a move. They have good dudes that work quickly. I used DN Van Lines on August 19, 2021 based upon the the reviews on Yelp but apparently did not look further enough to see more reviews. The damage they did to my house and furniture was unbelievable! Please do not use them!!! They dragged brand new mattresses through dirt, they scraped and damaged the furniture including breaking a spindle off the canopy bed post and taking divits out of the bureaus and bedposts, they ripped a brand new king mattress and left huge scratches on my hard wood floors. They also damaged the ceiling and drywall in the hall forcing a mattress up the stairs. The way they handled the furniture was awful and I could hear them dragging the furniture across the floor in my master bedroom. I have never had such a terrible experience and hope to prevent someone else from experiencing this horrible service. I have attached a few pictures below to validate my claim but do not use them to even move a blade of grass! read more

The movers stored furniture in a storage unit so that my antique dining table was scratched and ruined, put tape on it as well so as to stick to the wood and take the varnish off, used the incorrect type of tape on all surfaces, and ruined my roll-top desk so that the sides broke. I didn't discover all of this until after I moved out of the storage unit 7 weeks later. So disappointed!! read more

After hearing all the promos on a local Boston radio station we contacted DN Vanlines for a quote for a move from MA to Fl. They had the best price so we hired them. We packed 99% of our items. We were told that DN personnel would do the loading and their crew in FL would do the unloading. An independent trucking company would provide the truck and drivers for the drive to FL. All of this was true and nothing was hidden in the costs. They did not try to milk us for more money like a lot of posted comments. Our problems was with the truck and the loading. which we did not become aware of until we got to FL. We had friends meet the truck in FL to supervise the unpacking as they were going to get to FL before us. We had no real complaints with the unloading. When we arrived what we saw. The truck leaked hydraulic fluid in our brand new driveway. Our friends reported it to the driver but no action. Our friends bought cleaner and cleaned up the trucking company's mess. Quite a few box es and bins were smashed even though there were fragile tags on them. Items were broken and worse of all the truck was filthy and that filth and smell got all over our items and transfer to the floors and walls of our new house. When we complained we got excuses and was sent a list for damages but everything would be part of deductibles. We decided it wasn't worth it and replaced or repaired when we could the damages but cleaning the house from the truck filth took hours. A cust service rep texted me to see what we thought of the move and when I replied with what happened, how we were treated along with pics, I got no response. A week later I text back indicating why the lack of response and still no response. Sorry this was so long but the crux of this is go elsewhere. Lowest price and radio endorsements don't mean anything. read more
