The place definitely seems to have a following because we saw it rather full last week and made a mental note to check it out. It's a corner location that is unexciting from a decor standpoint but maintained for what it is. The people are almost all very polite and try to work through the language barrier. The pupusas that we tried were the first I've had, so I have no basis of comparison. Glad I tried them. I had three: the cheese, the chicharron, and the cheese and chicharron. The pickled slaw and red sauce definitely add dramatically to the flavor profiles. I am not sure that pupusas are my new "go to" comfort food, but I am glad to have had the experience. read more

Local food that is quick service 20 and under. The place isn't special it's old looking with pickled cabbage on the centers. I come her for pupusas and it's always great. Plus the price is just right. One star less for the space. It's nice and open so you can see but the chairs aren't comfortable and the style could be updated. read more

The pupusas here are delicious! They have spicy and regular curtido (pickled slaw) that goes perfectly with the pupusas. I had the bean/cheese/meat and the cheese/meat, both really tasty. Because they are made to order they were crispy on the outside while the cheese kept it's gooey gloriousness. My chubby hubby had the ribs salteado with white rice and red beans which he really enjoyed. Tastes like abuelitas cooking! Anyone in need of a real papusa fix, don't think twice about coming here. The papusas are made fresh to order and are some of the most flavorful in town. Mouthwatering corn tortilla stuffed with meats, cheeses, beans.. you just name it! My boyfriend was telling my to try the papusas...I actually went on yelp to look at the reviews and saw they were mentioned in every single one...so I decided to try the chicharron ones them for the first time and as I hoped the reviews were right!!! They were excellent!!! Everything about them was fresh an delicious. We then decided to split the carne asada which came with rice, beans and sautéed onions. The dish in general was pretty big. The meal itself however was just okay. Meat was a little over cooked and the rice and beans seemed pretty bland. However, it was inexpensive and good for one of those "whatever" dinners. I went with couple of friends to check out this local joint. It is truly down to earth, relaxed restaurant with plenty of items to choose from. I am not familiar with Salvadorian food but very similar to Colombian. Steak - dry, overcooked and lacks flavor Tacos - average; nothing special Pickled vegetables - definitely adds more flavor to the dishes It's not the greatest in this area since there are so many choices of Colombian and Cuban. Ate here twice when I was on vacation last week. The bean cheese pupusas were awesome! Their soup was also delicious. I convinced everyone in my party to try the agua de melon (cantaloupe water) it was so refreshing and delicious! The prices are insanely cheap. Our server Elda (?) was the sweetest lady I'd ever met. After our second visit, we told her we may see her again next year. When we explained to her we live in South Carolina, she grabbed us and gave us a hug and a kiss, and wished us a safe trip back home. Overpriced, mediocre food served with an attitude. I ordered 2 cheese pupusas, simple right? Nope! The woman at the counter was nasty. Gave me attitude when I asked questions about the menu, even though I told her it was my first time there. I've had undercooked pupusas before so I asked to make sure mine were cooked all the way. This woman told me that she didn't like them that way and would therefore not make them that way. The red sauce that comes with the pupusas tasted like watered down ketchup. Honestly the food here is great and dirt cheap, however the lady up front although old and some may consider excusable---- she insisted she did not know how to use a debit card machine. Translated from Spanish she told us her daughter was the only one who knows how to use the machine while there was 5 other people there. With a total of 6 people employed at a restaurant I'm surprised that no one knew how to use the machine at all. She tells us to use a near by ATM however we refused. Again to our surprise she said she could process the transaction ONLY IF she could charge us 60 cents for taxes. All together I just hate feeling like a place tries to manipulate me or scam me because they want to get by with just cash transactions to cheat the government in taxes because ultimately that is their main goal and truthfully nothing personal. All in all, if this is the only place around for you to get a good pupusa then go there, specifically with cash so you don't get attitude thrown at you for using a debit card.
