There is a wide selection of pots, fertilizer, soil, plant supports, seeds - really anything you need for your plants. Their selection of potted plants is my favorite part of the store and I think the prices are very reasonable. I've had great luck with every plant I've gotten there and I enjoy going in to see what they have as it's always changing. There's usually a good selection of terrariums and terrarium plants. I first came to the DIY Pest Control shop to look for products to maintain my yard myself. They were super helpful and gave us the confidence that we can absolutely do our own lawn care. The product we got lasted quite a while so our visits were pretty sporadic. That is until I started collecting houseplants... Back when we first went, I would have never thought I'd have a house full of plants one day so I didn't pay much attention to their plant selection, but I'm fairly sure it wasn't nearly the assortment they have today. I saw in some local plant groups that they carried a variety of common and rare houseplants so I figured it was time to stop in again. They absolutely have grown their offering of houseplants, including a section of terrariums that are just stunning. The staff there are super knowledgeable and ready to give you whatever advice you need to treat your yard, de-bug your flower bed, or satisfy your inner plant hoarder, I mean, plant enthusiast. 5 stars for everything you need for lawn and gardening from a local business! I heard a lot of great things about this place through the plant community and I had to check it out myself. It is jam packed with everything you need for different kinds of plant lovers: equipment and fertilizers for outdoor lawn care and gardening, to the soil mix (i like foxfarm) and pottery for the indoor houseplant type. There is a dedicated area for houseplants and most of them being more uncommon! When i was there last there were huge baskets of very mature looking hoya, tons of aroids, and even the most coveted: variegated monstera. What's unique too is there is also a section for terrarium-type plants. The shop is very industrial and could be overwhelming to some folks, but make sure to take a good look. It's not like your well-manicured minimalist/aesthetic monochromatic plant shops that is more IG-worthy, but it definitely makes up for the plant selection and fair pricing. read more

Great little shop! For the size of this store, they had some great finds. Everything you'd need to feed and maintain your garden is at your fingertips here. Did I mention the amazing selection of rare and sought-after tropicals? They have Thai constellation, obliqua, esqueleto, brandi, hoyas, anthuriums, and more! Substrates were on the heavy side, but that's nothing a good repot can't fix. The shopkeepers were buzzing about, but I was still greeted and felt welcome. Prices were fair, too. It's that time of year! Time to start getting the lawn in order while my friends and family back north are still dealing with temps in the teens. I love complaining about cutting the grass to them! So much fun. Anyway, managing weeds and bugs is a must in Florida. Sure, you can pay someone $30+ dollars a month to do it for you, and get frustrated when a truck shows up for less than 10 minutes every 6-8 weeks and you're baffled as to what you're paying for. This place in Oveido has the answers. Some of their products are expensive, but if you compare to what you'd pay for someone else to do it, it's not all that much. We brought in samples of the weeds in our yard and they were able to point out a product that would help. It's not good to put down when the temperature is too hot, so this is the time of year to start. I spent about an hour mixing and measuring and spraying. I felt like the Walter White of DIY Lawn Care. They have lots of cool things (seed, etc.) and other than somebody getting over-zealous with the price gun (999.99 for tomato seeds), they have the goods to maintain your lawn. I would say they came up with the perfect name for the store. No question on what they do there. read more

Customer service was great. I gave them the information needed on my pest issues and they recommended two products for ant control. One was for inside the house and the other for outside. You can probably purchase the product for $10 less on eBay but the on-site helpful expertise and supporting local businesses is worth the extra $10. read more

They have a monthly scheduled that plans out what products you can use each month in order to keep your lawn looking top-notch....and mine does! I always feel that I am putting the right products down to prevent weeds, pests, and to promote growth. The folks in here are real pros and will talk to you about the problems that you might be having to help find the right solution. I have even done soil samples here so they could customize a treatment plan for my lawn. Love that this place is around! But there's more......they do pest control products too. They put a lot of love and dedication into what they offer. Finding variegated rare plants without having a price gouge is rare these days. However, Rebecca and her staff are able to be fair! So I went in to do-it-yourself past control to buy something to eradicate the fire ants from my yard. I also had heard that they had a wonderful selection of house plants and cactus. They recommended some bait granules for the fireant problem. Advion. Let me say that I put the bait down once and both mounts in my yard were gone within a few days. Shortly after I applied it I watched some of the ants pick up the bait and were taking it back into the mound. I have been paying massey services to come out It's for a year and I was still having problems with fire ants. The advion May be expensive at $50 for a container but still cheaper yespur land massey services... And the problem is being resolved. I got tired of calling them back out because there was more fire ants. I would 100% recommend this product. I spent quite a bit of time browsing their plant selection. They have a wide variety including rare plants is rare plants. I ended up splurging on on a hoya. A few weeks later I brought my daughter out and we also shopped and picked out a few other plants. Don't rely on "expert" advice from this location. Took a specimen in to learn more and how to control the critter. Was told it was typically found in ceilings in grocery stores and advised I needed a bait. Spent $15 for bait (already using Demon). The "expert" didn't ask where and how often I found them. Research on my own: "P. surinamensis is a burrowing cockroach, commonly burrowing in loose soil, humus, mould, compost piles and lawn thatch, or hiding beneath rocks, rotten branches, trash and other debris." read more

This company has AMAZING staff! During this covid craziness I needed help and they stepped up. They told how to capture the pest afflicting my home, told me to bring it to them for identification and then sold me the pest control needed to rid my home of them. While none of this is unusual given they ARE a pest business, the way they cared for me was impressive; I was clueless. Johanna talked to me when I called from my home, met me at her store's front door when I honked, cleaned my cc before handing back to me, smiled and encouraged me through my ineptitude and offered help over the phone as I wanted to rid my home of the "ghost ants" plaguing me. One of my local big box stores could sell me some well-known/unknown "bug-killer-stuff", but I doubt I would get such personal care. I sat at the front door (inside my car, mask on) and watched a steady stream of customers doing business. I was the only customer with a mask and the only one purchasing from within a car. I've used these guys in the past, their stuff is expensive. Not only that but they sold me lawn bug grandules that they knew no longer worked. It wouldnt be so bad but the stuff is very expensive, and I wound up with uncontrolled bug issue. They say their stuff is better then the box stores, but I have never had any different experience with their products over the others. I just feel it a lot more in my wallet. OK i love this store but i was surprised to find that termidor 20oz with them was $80 compared to $55 from online retailers, those online retailers also include free shipping. Same product for 10% more is worth supporting a local business and getting advice but 40% above their online competitors seems steep. I have to imagine the retailers online are spending $7 on shipping so that makes the product almost half the price as this store sells it for to their clients with sales tax added. read more

We have an 8000 sq ft Zoysia lawn here in Debary. Last December i found "DO-IT-YOURSELF" and gave them a visit to see if they could help me with my deteriorating lawn. Actually 1/3 was gone and the rest was noticeably declining. We met Rebecca and she recommended soil tests which i agreed to do. Upon receiving test results, I was shocked at the horrible condition of our soil. Rebecca wrote out a monthly plan to revive the soil which she said would then stimulate a healthier lawn. We followed this plan to the letter and WOW by July passer bys were stopping and commenting on how perfect our lawn is. Well it wasn't perfect then because it's August now and it's even better. We have totally enjoyed working with Rebecca and Fabian and i will say they have my total confidence with respect to lawn care. Pricey - yes a bit but must cheaper than replacement would have been and as fussy as we are with our lawn and gardens, we never imagined we would achieve the absolute level of beauty that we have in just 6 months.
