The company came out to give me an estimate on some plumbing work that I wanted to be done (plumbing for a wet bar). I made an appointment date and time for them to come out. I received a call a half hour into the time that they should've been here that they needed to push my appointment back by two hours. The two hour time slot passed by and I called their ofc whereas 'now' they had forgotten all about me and 'now' wanted to try to rush a technician out to do the job. Mind you, what was being done was already told to me that it would take 6 to 7 hours for them to do. Stay away! Scheduled a sewage scope with Do Right Rooter for a house that we made an offer on. Do Right Rooter agreed to scope the sewage line from roof access for $375 or $425 with video. During the sewage scope, the technician explained they were unable to access the main sewer line from the house because he ran into a wye pipe that was disconnected. After scope, I received the video of the scope on a flash drive and could not believe the terrible quality. The video has no audio, time stamps/reports of where they found roots/issues, and was in black and white. I called them after seeing the video and the admin explained the tech must have "used their own camera" and would follow-up with the tech to give me a report. I received a "report" via email, which is completely different from what the tech told me at the time of the scope. I provided their video to another plumber for a second opinion, and they could not see any disconnected pipes and told me that they were not able to get their camera to the main sewage line. They did not reply to me after I explained being dissatisfied. The report was not accurate or match up with what the tech told me, and they did not complete the job we requested. Billed me for services he never did. He even left me with the cleanup. But on his way out he tells me my basement floor will need to be torn up to fix the obstruction at the toon of $6000.00 on top of the $1175.00 for the service call. Earlier this year I began to experience category 3 dark Sewage back up in the laundry room in my basement. I contacted "Do Right Rooter who came out and performed a sewer line inspection with a camera locator video system and stated that the back up was due to tree roots grew into my underground pipes blocking the flow of the sewer line that connects my home to the city sewer line. I spoke to John Cooper who explained that my entire sewer line needed to be replaced to completely resolve the sewerage back up issues that I was experiencing in my basement and quoted a cost of $6,800 to replace the entire sewer line from my home to the city sewer facilities. I trusted Do Right Rooter as professionals to resolve the back up issues I was experiencing by replacing my entire sewer line as they assured my that would prevent me from experiencing back up issues in the future. On day one Do Right sent 3 workers who dug a 7ft whole from my home the the sidewalk. Day 2 another set of workers came to install pvc piping from my home to the side walk with one clean out and explained that it should be used for future rodding if needed. After digging approx 7ft. underground and installing the sewer system my yard was in need of major land scaping construction which Do right advised me that I would be responsible for hiring a third party contractor to repair. TWO MONTHS after paying $6,800 to have my sewer line replaced the city experienced heavy rain and I my entire basement experienced a back flow or category 1 clear rain water BEYOND THE LAUNDRY ROOM throughout the entire living area of the basement. At that point my family was completely devastated because our entertainment center along with the majority of our belonging in our basement were now destroyed 2 months after trusting Do Right Rooter to resolve our issue. I contacted Do Right Rooter (who was very unapologetic and tried to blame the city facilities) for my current back up issues. They eventually sent a gentleman by the name of Joe who was very professional and understanding that I wasn't very knowledgeable of the situation he allowed me to video record him explaining that the workers who installed the pvc system in the yard was supposed to install a back water system w/ a clean and check valve Flapper ( which costs $230 on Amazon) to prevent the back flow of sewage into my home. He also drew a diagram of the correct way my system was supposed to be installed with the clean and check system. Joe advised me that he would speak to the owner and have him call me with a resolution. two days later I received a call from a gentleman by the name of David who clamed to be part owner who was very short and advised me that I was supposed to have requested a CLEAN AND CHECK SYSTEM when I requested to have the repairs done. I advised him that I was not a professional and had no prior knowledge of what a CLEAN AND CHECK VALVE was and trusted them to provide my with service needed to prevent another back up. He then advised that John was out of town and would have to call me back. Two days later I received a text from John Cooper stating he would come out the following Monday. I called John Monday after he didn't call or show and at that time he stated that I needed a clean and check that was additional cost and refused to address the situation or even come out as he promised. Now I have to have my yard dug up again to install a clean and check system and DO Right Rooter is refusing to take responsibility. I have to provide an update. I decided to give DoRight another try after talking with Vicki the office manager and explained everything. I will say that the company is very good at what they do. They fixed my inside plumbing issue and they out did an awesome job with the hydro jetting and cleaning my catch basin. Everyone showed up on time and provide GREAT service. I would recommend to get the hydro jetting done versus power rodding. It really cleaned out the pipes. Again if you have a plumbing issue call them first and you probably want have to call anyone else. Everyone deserves a second chance and giving them one was well worth it. Horrible experience, stay far far away. I recommend finding more professional plumbers for your needs. These guys were in my house for over 2 weeks making creepy suggestive comments, working 3 hour work days and taking lunch hour, drinking on the job (they were drunk most days with cans of beer obviously in their work truck) and did a poor and incomplete job. My house was filthy from them, my family was displaced for weeks because of their lack of effort and sense of urgency. They have no ability or care to work in a time frame and blasted horrible music over my TV program. They didn't care to clean their feet or the mess of the mud going in and out of the house, they did not show up on their last day to complete the work or fill in the hole in my wall or yard. They broke my door screen and my birdhouse. Also the office is about as imcompitant as the plumbers with zero communication or respect for my time. Every time I called the office to complain the plumbers would say something to me about it and mention his fighting pit bulls. Stay far away from this scam of a company. Those 2 weeks were the most stressed I've ever been and it was 100% preventable, this company just did not care. It was a living nightmare. *UPDATE The owner John just messaged me and threatened me with slander because of this review. I find it sad that instead of fixing his own companies problems he tries to threaten me to change my review, which is exactly what he said. A month after I bought my house in Summit IL we had ongoing sewage backup in our basement drain. It got worse when it rained or snow melt. We were referred to "Do Right Rooter" who came out and after rodded/jetted stated the problem was bigger. Indicated we had a washed out pipe causing the sewage backup since sewage was not going anywhere and afford to fix the problem then promised we should no longer have this problem again since they noticed my wife high anxiety. The fix was at a very expensive price of $2800. But since they agree to give us a payment plan, my only option was to go with the job. The day of the pipe fix arrived. Note, the state already marked my yard to identify location of pipes. Two workers of Do Right Rooter's began digging in the wrong location. I advised that it was marked on the other side of yard. But they said "No the pipe is here since there was vibration on the fence post when rodding". So I allowed them to continue. No pipe were found but a major destruction of my yard and grass was completed. After I called the owner John Cooper about the issue, then they decided to use the locator video system which indicated pipe was at the marked location on the other side of the yard which should have been done before breaking the dirt. Yes, Do Right Rooter indicated they are not responsible for landscaping on the invoice but I was not expecting to pay $600 to correct the mud pile and add new sod in my yard for their destruction. After digging the new location, the pipe was found but it was not washed out as previously diagnosed and actually looked as if the pipe was tampered with since the pipe had a perfectly small round hole on the top of the pipe as pictured which could have been done with a metal shovel or a hammer because it was a clay pipe. No roots were found near the pipe. I mean why dig to find a perfectly good pipe right? As they proceeded changing the pipe to PVC. We were never offered a check valve (flood preventative) knowing that this could have been our savior from the beginning since they dug already. Now 1 month and half later we been still having sewage backup. My family and dogs who live in the basement are getting sick and having an eye issue also my renovated basement walls are destroyed because Do Right Rooter's failed to correct the problem as promised from the beginning. Their excuse is that it is now a city issue. I called the city to advise what Do Right Rooter's stated who is now requesting a copy of the video but Do Right Rooter's is using an unprofessional tactic by not returning phone calls and black mailing me to pay the remaining balance of $400 in order to do anymore work or correct our issue. This shows that they are misdiagnosing to gain profit and dishonest work practices. You would think that with the $2800 charge they would do anything to make their customer's happy. This is false advertisement. All and all, I am very dissatisfied of the outcome. I believe the only way I can be happy again is if they correct the issue by placing a check valve they missed to do in beginning and correct the landscaping thereafter on their dime. Or reimburse me of the total payment made so I can find a new plumbing company that can take care of the problem professionally without any issues. ***** Update***** 5/24/2018 To elaborate on how Do Right Rooter's works. After the review was posted they called me to set-up an appointment for 5/24/18 at 11am so they can come out with the camera and meet the city inspector to confirm problem. The city inspector arrived but Guess what Do Right Rooter No call, no show as usual. The city was kind enough to camera the lines for them selves and showed us to confirm its not an city issue as Do Right Rooter indicated. Also explained how the sewage piping should flow which Do Right Rooter fail to know. Anyhow, now we know who the problem is here, Do Right Rooter's. The person replying to my last review is not the owner John Cooper, it's the secretary by the name of Victoria. Of course, they will write something to make their company not guilty of any complaints. This company fails to understand and believe that the customer is always right. I hired David to rod out a tree root about 50 feet in my line and then do an in camera inspection to show the tree root had been tossed and the line was now clear. I gave him my address and he rodded the neighbors next door. He did not rod out the tree root and skipped over that area in the in camera review. When I confronted him about it. I have used Do Right Rooter on two different occasions since purchasing a property in early August and will absolutely continue using them in the future. I would also recommend them to anyone who is looking for honest opinions/ assessments, competitively priced quotes, and efficient work. The first occasion was to install drainage tile along two walls in the basement of the property. John came out to inspect the situation and was extremely helpful in assessing/ talking through different options. This was a known issue upon purchasing the property, and he offered advice on how he would handle the situation if it were his own property. I decided to go ahead and install the drainage tile after he provided multiple other options/ quotes to potentially solve the issue. Once we scheduled the start date, Geo and his team were prompt with their arrivals and very efficient with the work. The stairs leading to the basement are not ideal, and the team had a lot of concrete to remove. They handled everything well with no complaints. The drainage tile is working as expected to date. The second occasion was more urgent as we started to experience a sewage smell coming from the basement. John again came out to assess the situation, and we determined that the sewage line had a crack about 4 ft behind a wall within the basement (after clearing the line and running a camera). He provided an estimate for the work at that time, and we began that week. Angel and his team took out a portion of the wall to get to the problem area within the line and then successfully removed/ replaced that portion of the pipe. There is also a 5-year warranty on the pipework which is very reassuring. We have not had any issues since. Everyone I have interacted with at the company has been very knowledgeable and helpful. I had a leak in my ceiling of downstairs bathroom which is just below our upstairs bathroom so we weren't sure if it was coming from the vanity or the toilet. DRR's Raf opened up the ceiling and did diagnostic work for about an hour. Was super thorough. He made the fix but wanted me to wait to fix the ceiling just in case there was more to the leak. Sure enough about 3 days later it started leaking again. I called DRR and they came over that day and fixed it permanently. They did not charge me for the second visit either. Of all the people I called that weekend, these guys were the only ones to show up and did so relatively on time. The plumber unfroze all the pipes in my basement in about an hour which was great. Unfortunately, my issue was frozen pipes at the sidewalk, where the city is responsible. I have a rental property in Joliet. We had very old cast iron drain plumbing that had developed a crack and all of it needed to be replaced. I do not live in the state so I was trying to coordinate the consultation and repairs with this company and the tenant. Joe was the office administrator that I was working with. He did a fantastic job getting the consultation set up with my tenant and was really concerned with getting me all the necessary information to get started. He also had my schedule in mind and asked how I preferred to be contacted (via phone or e-mail) so as not to disrupt my schedule too much. Brian was the tech that came out to examine the plumbing and was able to send me pictures and videos of what all the problems were with the drain plumbing. I spoke with him on the phone and, since I was going to be at the rental the following week, set up a time for him to show me in person what he suggested to be done. I agreed on the work and he was back later in the week to complete the job. The work took exactly the amount of time quoted and there were no surprises. He even helped diagnose a problem with my well system and installed a new pressure switch I had acquired at no extra charge. Brian has a great attitude and it was a pleasure to have him around the house for the time of the repair. This company by far surpassed my expectations and I would absolutely have future work performed by them and recommend them to anyone I know. It took the plumber all day to replace cartridge on MOEN kitchen fawcet, where it normally take 15 to 30 minutes to install. Plus plumber came 3 hours late. After he finally finished I have virtually no hot water pressure coming from fawcett. Cost: $140. A sham and disgrace to say the least. read more

I called Do Right Rooter for an estimate on a sewer repair. They insisted on a camera inspection which would be a $225 fee (which would have been credited if I selected their bid for the work). I informed the tech several times I would only agree to the camera inspection if I got a digital copy - he agreed and said he recorded the pipe inspection and to call the office the next day for a copy. I paid and the next day their secretary Rita was scrambling to get ahold of the video inspection from the tech. One week goes by and she finally calls back asking if I decided on the job yet. I again asked for the video of the pipe inspection - she claims they don't have it, the tech did not do it correctly, and the tech was recently fired. Waste of $225. Very unprofessional and lost my trust as a potential customer. I declined their services for that and because their tech left a mess in the basement that I had to clean up afterwards. read more

Plumber that came out was very polite and wise, he came out and figured out why my main line was backing up. They came out to power jet my main line, removing all my roots that were covering or clogging my sewer.
