Stay away from this company. They cannot be trusted, they left my house destroyed with 10 holes all over my laundry room and a basement bathroom after paying 12,000. We initially contacted the company to fix a clogged kitchen sink. Before they arrived, we clearly explained that rodding had already been attempted and did not work, and that we needed someone equipped with a camera inspection to locate the clog. When they arrived, they insisted on trying rodding again, saying their machine was more powerful. After several hours, the clog remained. My stairs carpet was full of mud after they left.. They returned another day to troubleshoot, but the camera they had was too large to see inside the pipes which again we had requested a thinner one from the start. Tomas indicated that they needed to do one , two small openings max to locate the clogged pipe. However, this escalated to ten holes throughout the laundry room walls and ceiling, as well as the basement bathroom walls and ceiling. He changed a pipe in the bathroom for no reason. To justify that he opened holes on the bathroom tha had nothing to do with the kitchen sink? Eventually, they discovered that the pipe leading to the outside of the house was collapsed. The solution was to excavate under the house, outside concrete stairs, under deck to fix the pipe. My husband proposed the solution to reroute the kitchen drain through the laundry room floor to connect to the city pipe. They said they needed to come next day to hydrojet and find the city pipe, plus 3 days to do the work. The quoted $12,000 which we felt was a lot of money but we had no kitchen sink for over a week now, 10 holes on the house, and not thinking clearly at this point. We accepted given the stressful situation, we agreed and paid $6,000 upfront. The work was completed in less than eight hours (versus 3 days) far less time and effort than represented. He promised us before starting that he will send someone to cover all the holes. Well he never sent anyone. After a couple weeks we texted and he gave us some BS excuse that he wanted to make sure he sent someone good, didn't mater the cost. A month later, same story, that the job is to small foe him to find someone (10 hold is small? I cannot imagine how much wrost could have been if we let him excavate towards the outside of the house. In summary he can't be trusted, his words means nothing. Do not pay him until you are satisfied. I File a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), and he didn't even answered, that is how much he cares. So i am going to leave this review in every place they are advertised and every moms, community facebook pages from north riverside to 10 miles around. read more

We had a Y sewer line that was cracked and incomplete. Roots were growing and causing a huge block causing backup. They removed it and replaced with PVC pipe and hydro jetting. Chicago Sewer & Drain was very responsive to my Yelp request after the work was out of the scope of another plumbing company. They arrived within 30 minutes of my first message, assessed the situation, explained the options, and provided a quote for hydraflushing. Unfortunately, the issue was larger than that so they explained the issue, showed me camera images inside my water line, and we discussed options. They took the time to make sure I understood the issue - and how/why it happened. They provided me with an estimate and we scheduled the rest of the work for Sunday (didn't charge for time and a half). Sunday was a huge project - excavating layers of cement and tile so the work carried over to Monday. They called each time 15-30 minutes prior to arrival, provided options along the way, and answered all my million questions! They finished the work and sent me videos and photos to ensure the work was completed. They also called to explain findings and tell me what was fixed/replaced/added. They let me know to reach out anytime if something comes up or if I have any further questions. They cleaned up the area while also tarping my wood floor, washer/dryer, and carpeted area. We had basement flooding caused by an improperly installed cleanout in the front yar. Chicago Sewer and Drain came in and gave an estimate, clearly explaining the work. Once they dug up the pipe they discovered the saddled pipe had been secured with concrete, and they would need a jack hammer to remove the concrete. This added a day delay but no change in price. They handled getting city inspection and actually went to the city offices to make sure things were wrapped up properly. No back ups since! read more

Thomas was very communicative, he came out to the property to provide a free quote, and he promptly sent the quote pdfs. I was disappointed after talking with another plumber at how Thomas seemed to be trying to up-charge us for repairs and procedures that were not necessary to fix our problem. I don't think I will reach out again to Thomas, despite his good communication, as trust was broken by the amount he was proposing charging. ***UPDATE*** For potential clients reading this review: A year passing since this quote was sent makes my review all the more relevant. We ended up having the check valve and sump pump replaced for $1300 total. Chicago Sewer & Drain quoted us $1100 for camera/hydrojetting the main sewer line, $1600 for an ejector pump replacement, $1200 for a sump pump replacement, and the check valve replacement would be included with other repairs. We had significant savings with the approach we took (over $2000), and everything works perfectly fine over a year later. This is why I characterized the quotes as "upsell". read more

Thomas and his crew did a replacement of a section of my clay sewer pipe 2 years ago. I paid $4,500 for a replacement clay pipe about 3 feet long to be installed under my basement floor. They were on time and did the work very quickly. Upon seeing their camera inspection of the newly repaired pipe section, I was very concerned about the misalignment of the connections to the old pipe. There is an approximately 1 to 1-1/2 inch skew in the connections on either side of the repair that is very visible (i'm including their video in my review). My concern was that it would cause the pipe to eventually become clogged and/or leak around those connections. I expressed those concerns to Thomas, who was very steadfast in his assertion that the work was "exemplary" and that there was no reason to be concerned. The video in my review clearly shows very poor connections of the repaired section. I have no idea if there are any leaks into the surrounding ground potentially causing damage or shifting of my foundation, and only time will tell. There are three other important things to note: 1) The picture (included in my review) that Thomas sent me of the repair was in my opinion purposely obscured by dirt and gravel (just at the connections coincidentally) to prevent me from seeing how misaligned the repair was before they backfilled the hole. 2) They did a really bad job of filling the excavation back in, requiring me to fill it in with concrete again myself in order to replace the flooring level. 3) One of his employees stole my screwdriver. I asked where it was and he pretended to have taken it by mistake, however they weren't doing any work that required a screwdriver at that time and my screwdriver was a distinctive expensive one that you couldn't mistake for any random screwdriver. Thomas even said "these guys have sticky fingers, you can't leave anything lying around". I'd recommend if you hire this company, you put away any valuables when his team is there, and check the work yourself before it's filled in so you don't have to worry about future problems. read more

Although the drain routing service they provided was adequate, they WAY over charged me. Because this was kind of an emergency and I had no way to evaluate the cost, I agreed to the work. After they left, I checked with several other plumbers and they confirmed that the charge was way too much. I did contact them and told them my findings. I was cleaning out pipes under the kitchen sink when I noticed the pipe extending out of the wall was very loose. I cut through the back of the kitchen cabinet to see what was going on and the pipe was not even attached. It had become unattached because it was apparently never installed correctly by a DIY project before we lived here. I called Chicago Sewer and Drain Professionals in the evening and they were able to come out the morning of the next day. JR was very helpful and fixed the issue. We then noticed that the water was not draining very quickly. He ran the pipe snake and found the largest most disgusting clump of hair far down the pipes. All is fixed now and I would definitely recommend this company and we plan to use them again for some plumbing work we have for the future. read more

These guys are top notch. The basement of our 6-unit building had flooded due to a collapsed catch basin. [Other plumbers we had take a look said we needed to get rid of the catch basin, and their solution for where all the water would go that the catch basin would normally contain was... to redirect the downspouts off the building. To where? oh, the alley and/or the front of the building, all of which is essentially a giant concrete slab. Okay....] CSADP were the only ones we called who talked us through the option of rebuilding the catch basin. Expensive, but not outrageous and certainly less than tearing up the entire basement to reroute the plumbing drain system substantially and bypass the basin.
