Our experience first started with their website in the adoptable dog section, which is updated…read moreevery hour. Saturday was our first time here. We arrived promptly at opening at 10am. There was already 6 cars waiting at the gate. Such a busy place! The volunteers were all very helpful. We were able to see the dog we had in mind, but another couple had their eye on him first so we went to see the other dogs in the back. Everyone was so kind and personable. After 5-10min, the original volunteer told us the couple left and did not adopt the doggo we were looking at so we got to adopt him within the hour. All dogs are neutered/spayed, bordatella, flea treatment, heart worm tested, and given a few other vaccines. They are also microchipped. I felt the staff had genuine care for these pets and wanted the best for them. Thank you again!

We have a awesome dog at home and she is trying to play with the cats. The cats don't want to play with her, since she is a lot bigger then them. We have a 1/2 acker yard for them to play in. My animals are spoiled, ask my friends. So, if you're going to be that way with people, maybe you should find a different job. I only brought Lucy there and Sally ran away from me to go there. So, I am thinking about the $100 deposit should be credited towards my account. They charge me $180 for the package to do what is needed. I had to pay $130 instead of $80. They refused me to give $100 credit towards the service. I ask them if I bring Sally on another day, they told me no credit towards her. What can I do in this situation. I am thinking about dispute it and call my Bank about my debit card.

After moving to Lake county, we were surprised when other shelters required us to fill out paperwork and then schedule an appointment to see individual dogs - I really long process. But the ladies at the Leesburg Humane society were so helpful! They walked us in to see the dogs and then introduced us to this gorgeous pack of 6 week old pups! We met momma as well and signed the adoption paperwork right away for our pick of the litter! They can't release her until she's spade, which is a few weeks away... we can't wait to bring her home! In the meantime the ladies invited us to come visit as often as we like. Very clean, attentive staff. 10/10 would recommend. Come by and adopted our pups' siblings

I Recently adopted a beautiful six-year-old collie from the Humane Society of Marion County. They…read moredid their due diligence in making sure we were the right fit as a family. We even did a meet and greet with our one dog. So far it has gone well at home. The Humane Society and their staff were wonderful especially shout out to Tyler. He was great in giving me all the information that I needed and asked for as well as the handling of the adoption. I have seen some people, dislike the fact that you do have to jump through some hoops to adopt. However, given that they want to make sure that these animals do not come back to the shelter and have a forever home as well as make sure that they are responsibly taken care of after they leave their care, I see why they do it. Even after the adoption my new dog came up with kennel cough they immediately had us come back to the shelter, came to meet us at the car in proper PPE and sent us home with medication which now has worked wonderfully and laddie is now feeling so much better and more like himself. I'm excited for our journey with our new family member and thank you so much Humane Society of Marion County.

I went to the Humane Society of Pasco off of Harmon three times with intentions to adopt a dog…read more Three times I went they were closed and I went several more times and they were still closed even though the sign said they were open, but they were closed. So I happen to just cut through Harmon on my way to Publix and saw they were open. I went inside and I still wanted another dog. They had several dogs that I was interested in and there was a dachshund that was a little bit older, but I was very interested in him because he was a dapple and I love dapples. When I met the dog, it was like we were made for each other. But when I told the people at the counter, I was interested in adopting the dog right then, they told me they would put me on a waiting list because there were six other people in line for this dog. They could have told me this to begin with and not got my hopes up. So once again, I left without a dog. I went back two more times and I strictly told them no Pitbulls and no pitbull mixes and that's all they had but they brought me out and showed me the dogs. They may be very nice people and they care about their animals, but they need to be a little bit more informative, and upfront when people make requests. And they need to open when they're supposed to be open. I ended up getting two miniature dachshunds from a breeder friend and I am very happy with them. One is a dapple and the other is red so I'm extremely happy. But as far as the Humane Society on Harmon, I don't recommend them. Sorry, but that's how I feel.
