Keavan was awesome! Let me explain myself first... I love tats but get queezy with needles and I've passed out before. Keavan was so very patient with me! He stopped and made me take a break every time I felt like I was going to pass out. He even ordered Pizza so I had some food in my stomach which totally helped! He checked in with his next client to see if they had time to be pushed later so he could finish me. He was professional and gentle, and very aware of my wellbeing. The best part was his work. I came in for a cover up. Most cover ups are done in stages. He worked with the black ink first to outline and shade in. Next session will be color. I only had time to do the first session since I wanted it to be ready for my brother's wedding which was in a few weeks. Omg it was so good people didn't realize it was a cover up! I got so many compliments from family friends and strangers after the wedding. I hadn't even gotten the color yet so I can just imagine how many more compliments I will get then! Thanks Keavan! I just got my third tattoo done by Keavan. Although it isn't 100% yet, I am absolutely ecstatic with the results. I knew that it would be amazing, but he just blew me away! As always, he was incredibly professional and patient. He talks you through the entire process making sure that you are ok. If you need to take a minute, he is totally understanding and doesn't make you feel any pressure to continue. His technique is very swift and very accurate. His attention to detail and line work is spectacular. Whatever ideas that you bring to him he runs with. Adding details and touches that truly bring it to life. He really is a perfectionist with a true talent in art. He wont finish until you are both extremely satisfied by what you have created. This is an update to my previous rating.. I gave them the extra star cause I have no complaints. I don't know if I would have gone there if I wasn't for the bad Yelp rating, so Doc might have Yelp to thank for the new client... lol... my tattoo (will post pics once it's healed) went very fast, so fast I was worried at first, but once he wiped it down the lines are perfect, shades are smooth... and when I say fast I'm pretty sure this was a 3 hour piece normally, 45!! min and it was done. Someone should probably sweep the floor in the waiting room once in a while, and I would have turned around and left if the tattoo area was dusty too, but it wasn't, I'm OCD like crazy and I would have freaked out. Don't be afraid to stop in and see Doc, regardless of what the Status is here.. he was very nice professional, and proficient. He's also a sneaker head like me so points for that too. read more

After having surgery on my chest, I was left with a huge scar down the length of my sternum. I met with Doc Rivers to work out a design [Chinese Dragon] that would conceal the scar within the tattoo. My scar was a thick keloid that could not hold ink; therefore, it could not be tattooed. over the last five months, I have had three tattooing sessions with Doc, while simultaneously going to the hospital to get scar therapy [monthly injections into the keloid] and now that the keloid is gone, I am now hoping to have my scar tattooed by Doc. As you can see this has been a long journey, and Doc has been awesome! I have to say, I am so happy with his tattooing. As he tattooed, he paused to ask how I was doing. His artistry was beautiful. Beyond Amazing!. I lived in Atlanta for 10 years and moved back to NY in 2008. Even after moving back I would fly to Atlanta just to get a tattoo because I wasnt comfortable with anyone in NY.....that is until I found Keavan. This man is beyond Amazing. I have been going to doc for years, and after seeing some of the reviews on this page I now feel the need to share my experience. I have had multiple pieces done by doc, on multiple ocassions. 5 to be exact, none of which are small in size. I have used other artists as well, but none can compare to docs attention to detail, and his speed. Some people think that extended periods of time taken means better quality, and he has proven that wrong. I have pieces that took other artist 3 hours and they don't come out nearly as clean as his Do in half that time. No matter where I go I always end up back with doc without second guessing. About 4 1/2 months ago I started to go to doc for my tattoos. Since then he's done 3 so far all different from each other. Lines are amazing they are better than I imagined it. Clean lines very detailed I must say he is a talented artist goes above and beyond with his work. He makes sure what you are putting on your skin you love not just for the fact it's his career and name but it's also something that you'll have for the rest of your life. He has more than 20+ years experience and it really shows. His studio is great, clean and comfortable.
