My daughter had a double helix piercing done here in March 2026 while visiting Newburgh. The piercer used hoop-style jewelry for the initial piercing. Within about two weeks, she experienced complications and we ended up needing to have the jewelry removed by another professional, along with medical treatment. Based on what we were told during follow-up care, straight jewelry is often recommended for healing, so this was concerning to us. I reached out to Melissa to share what happened, but felt my concerns weren't really addressed. I offered to send her pictures but she declined. This was a difficult experience for my daughter, especially since she has had numerous piercings without issues. This is in regards to the piercings. My 2 friends and I got piercings here all at the same time. They all got infected, and 2 of us had to go to urgent care to get cream to put over the infected piercing. My other friend had skin go over her piercing, and she couldn't hear out of the ear bc of it. Prior to this, 2 of us went back and the piercer said just keep up with the upkeep. LIKE WHAT? I then tried to get the charge disputed bc they had to take out the piercing and the shop denied me my damn money! I should have gone to Graceland like I always do. When Allison, the professional piercer at Graceland took out the piercing, she even admitted it was a not a good job. NEVER GET UR PIERCINGS HERE. THEY WILL DO A BAD JOB AND NOT GIVE U BACK UR MONEY! Very disappointing experience and wish I would have read more reviews prior to choosing this place. We went here because it was cheaper and closer than the shop who pierced my daughter's nose. I guess this is one of those instances where you get what you pay for. After piercing her with a double helix Melissa said call me with any issues call me with any questions. As soon as we saw the jewelry we were concerned because it looked like the cheapest metal possible. A week later her ear was so blown up and tight on the hoops that they were cutting off my daughters blood flow in her ear meanwhile the injection sites was oozing puss. She called the shop and was told Melissa was with customers. She called the next day and was told that Melissa was on vacation after telling them what the problem was. She wouldn't even let us touch her ear to try and get the earrings out. Meanwhile she called her previous piercer and she offered to go into her shop to meet her when the shop was closed. We made a trip to the ER where she had to get 5 shots of lidocaine in her ear for them to be able to get them out as well as prescribing an antibiotic. This was the most unprofessional experience we've had in a shop. This was part of her birthday present as and now she's traumatized after this experience and isn't sure she'll have them redone at her PREVIOUS PIERCER! Care more about your customers. Just want to warn other parents so you don't have to see your child go through this. read more

I had gotten my tragus pierced from another piercer. It had gotten really swollen and infected because the man had put a hoop in, instead of a stud. He also put the hoop at a terrible angle. The piercer at Millennium Tattoo is phenomenal and told me the truth. She said the piercing was at the wrong angle and she could easily change out the piercing for a stud but she said it would bother me and was honest. The door was closed but The sign said OPEN, we knocked three times until a person from inside the shop looked at us and then turned away without any answer! I got my nose piercing done here and the service was great. I called ahead of time just to make sure the piercer was there, who is there on Friday's. I went and my nerves quickly went away. She was able to explain everything to me, making me feel at ease. When she pierced my nose, I honestly didn't even feel it. It's been about a month since I've gotten it done and I've had no problems. I would definitely come back in the future! Changed my review after reading the others. I would come here for a simple piercing but not ones like the others listed. I have seen some nice tattoos come out of this shop but I am not sure who the artist's were. What I can tell you is that they tattooed my daughter when she was 18. She is now 21. We were at a tattoo convention in NYC and the producer of America's worst tattoos saw it and asked her to please submit an application to be on the show. He was shocked at the poor quality of it. As well as the bad design and layout. It is simply lettering! How bad could it be? Bad! We've tried to get coverups or at least ideas for coverups from many different artists at different shops and nobody wants to touch it. A couple years ago I called the owner about the situation and he pretty much didn't believe me and said that if she liked it when she left and that if she approved the layout then it's not their fault that she doesn't like it. She was 18! And for some stupid reason she thought she would go and get her first tattoo without me. I'm over that, but I'm pissed that they gave her such a bad tattoo. Now she has to go through expensive laser treatments to lighten the tattoo enough to have someone attempt a cover-up. Be careful! read more

I got my very first tattoo done here for my 18th birthday by VRM. I showed him a small flower that I wanted, and I explained a few little changes I'd like to see. He came back a little while later with exactly what I had in mind, and asked me to hold onto the design and look at it for a while to be sure it was exactly what I wanted. He was extremely kind and patient throughout the whole process, and it made a situation that could have been quite scary very comfortable. He walked me through everything and afterward went through the aftercare instructions with me. The place was very clean and the prices are much more reasonable than a lot of the places I've been to in the area. In the end I love my tattoo, andI know I'll be back in the future!! read more

This shop was the worst Tattoo shop I have ever walked into. First of all parking was terrible and walking to the shop the back porch had been filled with people just smoking and talking very rudely and loud. Walking into the shop it looked pretty nice and decent. The man at the front desk had no clue what he was doing and had no idea what the shops prices were and if they took my type of credit card. Next I asked to get my Daith pierced before this my friend had gotten her bottom went pierced and they first thing the pierced said was "I've never done this before" now as I was getting my piercings they lady was talking as if she knew all about it and did it a million times. Well she pierced my Daith in the completely wrong area causing me to pass out and on top of that she bent the needle herself after removing it from the package and didn't use a pre-bent packaged needle. The best part is I ended up going to the hospital because the swelling never went down two months later to find out that I had staph infection from the piercing. That was ridiculous being that I have had over 12 piercings and not one of them has ever been infected. I contacted the shop by phone and asked the lady who answered to find my record and email me a image of it so I could look over their agreement which she hung up the phone when she said I would be put on hold. That's not professional. I then messaged the shop via Facebook and got a ride and unprofessional response back also being told there was no record of my visit to them. I was very disappointed I had to see another pierced to remove the jewelry; the pierced I went to see to remove my jewelry had stated "whoever did this is an idiot and should not be piercing anyone" This was outrageous. I will never set foot in this shop again. And I would advise other not to as well. I would never recommend this shop to anyone. They were extremely rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. Excellent tattoo place. I had Ariel fix a tattoo that I had done in Albany back in 1993. It was a hand drawn mouse. I wanted to do a cover-up. Ariel took one look and told me he could fix it, no problem. A cover-up was out of the question because of the colors of the original tattoo, but Ariel explained what he would do. At the same sitting, I wanted a Chinese dragon done on my right forearm. I went online and printed out 5 different dragon styles. I was very indecisive about which one. Hell, it is a permanent decision. Ariel was very patient and we talked about it and I finally decided. He did a great job and even added some personal touches. He had previously given me a price that I thought was too low, but he honored his word. I respected that so I gave him a big tip. I had visited 5 other tattoo shop all over the area. I didn't get a good vibe from any of them. One guaranteed me that he could cover-up the mouse, which I later learned was impossible. There are a lot of dishonest tattoo artists that just want your money. You don't have to worry about that at Millenium. I would go back to Ariel anytime and I would recommend him 110%. read more

Came here to get an stud to put in my ear at home and normally when piercers pick up unused and sterile earrings they wear gloves and keep it in a bag but here the woman walked to the back and came back with the earring in her hand dirtying it and put it in the bag and handed it to me like that, I purchased it and the moment I walked out the door and tossed the bagged earring in the nearest garbage can I could find. This isn't the first time I went there I previously got my tragus pierced and a couple days it got infected and had to take it out but I learned from my mistakes and decided to go to Graceland tattoo which was the best decision and I highly recommend it read more

My daughter got a daith piercing here, first they said they take credit cards and when she went to pay they told her they don't that particular one but never stated so over the phone. The women that pierced my daughter bent the needle herself instead of using a pre bent needle. The piercer did not the proper jewelry for this piercing either and i believe she told my daughter she never did one before. My daughter was in severe pain during and after this piercing, she passed out in the shop. This is not her first piercing either. She has 3 holes in ears 2 of which she did herself, a nose piercing which was also a home job, a professional belly button piercing and angel and snake bites on her lips professionally done. Not 1 of those piercings got infected or had any problems. The swelling was insane also. She got an infection that she is still fighting a few months later. She went to another shop where she had an older piercing done and spoke to the piercer there also had her jewelry removed. This piercer told her they did it in the wrong place which is why it was so painful and shouldn't have bent the needle herself. She also told my daughter that the way/place it was pierced caused it to not properly heal allowing bacteria in for infection. This is her 3rd round of antibiotics and she may lose part of her ear if the infection does not properly respond to the antibiotics. This women had no business doing a piercing which she wasn't properly trained to do and had never attempted before. This place is horrible and doesn't care about their clients only money and they charged about $20 less any other shops in the area. Be careful going here, i wouldn't want anyone else to sufer the way she has been. And yes she was properly taking care of it as she has all her tattoos and piercings. read more

melissa (the piercer) is the only person i trust to do my piercings. she very calm and comforting. she has done two nostrils, both of my n**ples and my smiley piercing and each one she has taken her time. she was incredibly cleanly: constantly changing gloves, using sterile equipment and cleaning the skin completely. she has even taken the time to calm mr down when i was extremely nervous and take care of me after i started to faint. she cares about the people she pierces and knows what she's doing. i made the mistake of going to someone else on impulse one day and never ever again! read more

I unfortunately got stuck with an "artist" by the name of Colin that I assumed based on the reputation of the tattoo shop was experienced enough to do simple line-work. It wasn't until I got home and the healing process started that I noticed the letters weren't completely filled in, some were lopsided & the tattoo is permanently raised due to the pressure he put on it.
