First time going a couple of days ago went back the day after for another round. Cozy little spot with the outdoor area, heating machines and a fire pit. Kept me warm during the colder time. The food is delicious., Got myself the torta twice on both one per visit. Goes great with the side of queso. Tried the tacos with all three different meats and just the right size to keep your appetite up for another dish or just enough as a small serving to satisfy and not overindulge depending on how you want to eat. Queso and chips are always a good classic. Tried out the wine-rita, three out of the four flavors, watermelon first, strawberry second and lime third. Service was stellar, friendly, and appropriately attentive. Take your dates, parties or events here. It's a cozy small venue, so don't go too crazy. The only concern I would state even though it's not a true issue would be the parking part myself, but I would be preemptive and make sure it's enough for whatever you have planned. Safe to say that I will be back. A couple more things to try or to revisit and enjoy for a good nights sleep. read more

We stopped at Doc's totally by chance while driving from Texas to south Florida. What a lovely place! The food was soooo good! The atmosphere was inviting. The service prompt and friendly! The elote was to die for! I ordered the suegrita (I may be spelling that wrong) tacos and they were delicious! The horchata was a bit too sweet for my taste but that was just a personal preference. I've always spotted this place as I was driving from Dallas to Louisiana and wanted to stop here. Today I was finally able to do so and I am so glad that I did. This place is a really cute hangout location, but on a cold night make sure to bring a jacket because only 8 seats indoors. The tacos are only $2.50 which is super generous and they're pretty good. The suegrita was also really good and recommend that. I cannot wait to go back and try different menu options. The girl working the cashier/ server was very friendly and knowledgeable. I'll probably have to go in hiding after sharing my opinion, because a lot of my friends eat here often. The business itself is nostalgic and really cute. It has the appeal of just bring your friends and family and just chill. The young lady that waited on me was also friendly and nice. The tacos have been the rave in my circle, but I was not impressed. I love and eat street tacos often from several local businesses and food trucks, but these were mediocre at best. I ordered the bistek and al pastor tacos. The beef was very chewy, my jaws actually got tired of chewing and my al pastor just didn't have the rich authentic flavor that I'm use to. They have a decent serving in each taco, but their prices are also higher per taco than any of the places I frequent. read more

I also really enjoy the live music, but I would maybe turn the volume down on the microphones because it is IMPOSSIBLE to hear a conversation in that place when someone is singing. Again, I love this place but it does frustrate me when I can't talk to my friends because some random guy is singing "Tennessee Whiskey" too loudly lol. Can't wait to visit again!!! read more

The place is ok. The food unfortunately was not. The live music is what draws people here. For starters, this is not authentic Mexican food.The so called birria is not really birria, is only brisket and melted cheese or cheese sauce. No seasoning, no flavor. The consomé was cold, watered down and also tasteless. Prices are definitely high for what you are getting. Service was good. Our server was good, my food was made wrong but she took it back and by the time they brought it back, well everything was cold and hard. I'll definitely don't recommend for the food(misleading menu) but I do recommend for the live music. read more

Let me tell y'all about my experience. Really super cute place, cute vibe, def a date night option. So we her here, party of 8... food literally takes an hour 13 minutes. No lie, but we're vibing so it's no problem. Food gets there, only 1 persons food was correct and the food was 100% cold. I order my 2 year old daughter a cheese quesadilla (that doesn't eat meat) and half the quesadilla had beef in it. So the bill comes. Every single bill was wrong except the one meal that came correct. I ordered 4 tacos, elite, cheese quesadilla, water, margarita. I was told by the OWNER next time open up your quesadilla to make sure it's no meat. She also tried to charge me for sour cream nobody got, elote that never made it in the table at all. My bill was $42 and by the time it was correct it was $21. I was asked not to come back because a mistake SHE made. Instead of apologizing.... Then as my group was leaving the off duty officer sprints over to us saying we can't leave because the owner says we didn't pay and tried to hold us there only for the waitress to say we paid & still tipped. I asked was this because we are black and was told the owner is Mexican so it can't be racist.... Whatever that means. I will say the chicken taco had about a teaspoon of meat in it and was super cold but I have to admit it did taste good. We've ate at Doc's since they opened. Always take out; as crowds aren't our thing. The food has always been awesome and consistent. The only complaint I have is I wish they had more parking. Otherwise it's always ready when we get there...always friendly staff...really good priced for the quality. It's a unique place to stop if you want that Austin vibe. Hey all! We moved out to Longview a couple months ago and had been wanting to check out Doc's because we had heard good things from folks, and also the vibe from I-20 looks cool. Soooo we checked it out for my mother-in-law's b day. Gotta say it's a pretty cool place. Decor is cool, ambiance is nice, they have heaters for when it's cold, which is good because all of the seating is outside, though some of it is covered. We went on a Friday night and they also had a lady doing an acoustic set as live music. She was picking out some low key country music and she was very talented so that was cool too. While the entire experience was overwhelmingly positive, it's just a bit, quirky, I guess, to note something that we didn't know when we sat down. The majority of us ordered water, (one with lemon), and one of us ordered a half sweet half unsweetened tea. He was told all they have is sweet, which seemed strange, because before you have sweet tea, you have unsweet tea, right? Wellll not exactly. When our server (who was very nice by the way) brought out our drinks, he set one of those Gold Peak bottled teas down. You know, the ones you like get from the convenient store? Our waters were bottled water which isn't too strange I guess, except that you can't really put a lime wedge in that little opening so I laughed at my sister in law for having lime wedges and a bottle of water. To be fair the menu does say the water is bottled, and says nothing of tea, but just be aware you're not gonna get free refill water all night. If I'd have read the menu a bit more before ordering my drink I'd have probably gotten a glass bottle soda. The actual food was pretty solid. Not the absolute best street tacos I've ever had, but everything was GOOD. I need to also say that there was a decent helping of meat in each taco too, I didn't feel skimped on. The Elote stood out as really good, and their hot sauces are quite mild. The red has very little heat at all, the green a bit more but they were both tasty. My mother in law, ironically, got the mother in law, which she thought was great. (It's apparently a kind of spin on a quesadilla) And the rest of us got an assortment of the street tacos. I personally was a TAD let down the pastor wasn't seasoned a bit more but like I said it was still for sure good. The steak was good, and the chicken, while a bit wet and drippy, was good too. The food came out pretty quick, our server was attentive, and overall the experience was a positive one. In conclusion, super low key chill spot, good for a date night for sure.
