This is amazing service cleanest place and bathrooms. Best food and the atmosphere was awesome! Will be eating here again! Keep up the good work! I'm amazed how clean it was! We have been traveling and first time seen all tables cleaned and bathrooms clean! Thank you!

One of the best overall Whataburger experiences I've ever had! We came through Friday morning, 4/25/20 on our way to deal with a family matter. Prior to this visit, we've never even stopped in Kilgore, only passed through. This Whataburger is attached to a Shell through a hallway with restrooms in it. Due to COVID19, the inside was blocked off. There were several spots out front with signs for online orders and a drive thru with two lanes. We went through the drive thru, were instructed to pull into the second lane and realized there were three cars already there and three more followed us within a minute or so. My typical Whataburger locations are pretty slow but we were only in line for maybe 6 or 7 minutes. I only saw one employee coming outside to service the second lane but she was fast enough and multitasking, bringing one car their food and us our drink when she took our change, bringing our change while she brought someone else their food. She had a great attitude and responded to regulars who called out to her from their vehicles in such a jovial manner. We pulled into a nearby parking spot to eat our food before continuing on and it was excellent. All customizations were followed, the food was hot and fresh and tasted better than usual. You got to love Whataburger for making eating in the car easier with flat bottom fry and ketchup containers and plenty of napkins. I also love that I can get a burger and fries at 8am too, when you're on a 5+ hour trip, you're not in the mood to conform to what's being served at that time. It really hit the spot and we were able to continue on our trip, totally satisfied! My husband's burger was a little greasier, being a double meat with all the veggies. I had a junior burger nixing some of the veggies for easier handling and it was perfect. The fries were perfectly salted, hot and crispy and our dogs completely approved of the couple they cajoled out of us. I love when I can depend on a location and it's worth a return visit the next time we are passing through. The only thing that could have possibly docked a star was that the wonderful employee helping us wasn't wearing gloves and her mask was below her chin. I cannot comment on the other employees as they were inside and I didn't have a good view of the drive thru window. The reason I say possibly, and didn't actually dock a star, is because I don't know what the orders were in this particular county. For example, our destination only had 1 case in the entire county and it was from out of state, so that county had significantly less restrictions than back home. That could have been the situation here and though I'll mention it in case it's important to someone, I won't dock for it when I'm not educated on the details. Our governor left it up to counties to decide and fast food has it's own set of challenges with social distancing, so I'm keeping that in mind. Also, I believe it is up to me to protect myself and be vigilant of those around me, and then take the necessary precautions, not to put my safety completely in their hands. I know that opinion is not popular with everyone and I don't state it so we can have a discussion about it, only to explain my rating while providing you the facts necessary to make your own decision about coming to this location. Thanks for a great meal and experience, Kilgore Whataburger!

Worst whataburger is east Texas it's my last time too give these dumb bastards a chance it either cold or soggy fries or my orders wrong all together. You don't want to come when on weekend nights it's just high schoolers working sure will be messed up. Needs new management

I guess the owner at this location thought to themselves, if a rock band is driving through Kilgore, I want them to stop and eat here. This franchise has a bunch of Beetles memorabilia all over the walls, a bunch of guitars hanging on both sides of the counter and even a friggin motorcycle behind the glass. It's worth sitting down just to to have tourist-ish experience. The whataburger that the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame wishes it had?

One of the most interesting Whataburger stores I have been in, obviously a franchise holder since it is attached to a gas station. Food was hot and fresh, workers where pleasant and friendly.

This place was actually pretty sweet. I'm not usually a fan of anything in East Texas, least of all a gas station/fast food joint combo, but the decor of this Whataburger alone is enough to make me wish I lived close enough to frequent it. The place is set up like the Hard Rock Cafe of fast food. It's got cool music posters and legit guitars hanging all over the place, with 50's style diner tables and stools. I walked in and was greeted instantly by a huge Beatles poster, which truthfully made my day (and made me instantly jealous - I want that poster). The service was quick and the cashier was very forgiving of the loud, crazy friends I had with me at the time. Plus seventy cool points for that, cashier. I know those kids were hard to deal with. The food was served up hot and fresh, exactly what I needed after six hours in the car with six more to go. Sure, it's still fast food; but it was a perfect stop on a long road trip. If ever I'm road tripping it in that direction again, I'll be sure to stop by for some good food and a trip down rock and roll memory lane. I recommend the same for you, fellow Yelpers. Get on it!

Love Whataburger but they need to filter their water. Drinks are horrible at Liberty City. Other than that food is great

Poor customer service from the cashier and not enforcing safety standards. Only two stars because the manager was very helpful.

This is a solid 1 star review. The place was empty except…read morefor a table of two (should have been an obvious sighn). Server was nice but very timid. Was not impressed that I couldn't get what I wanted. I wanted the Mac & cheese balls - they were out and I got a explanation of how its a specific cheese thats used and is hard to find so they never have it to make them - ok take it off the menu if she never has it to serve. Disappointed. Next I wanted a cup of chicken gumbo. Server tells me "she hasn't told me if shes made it or not"...im sorry what? (As someone who served/bartended for 20 years, you always know what's available at the start of your shift). So now being very disappointed again, I settled with the Philly Cheese steak and fried pickles. My son ordered the wings and fried rice. My husband and daughter were going to split the seafood boil and we got her the chicken tenders with fries as a back up because shes been begging for a seafood boil and we wanted to treat her to one after her school musical. Let's cut to the food - mind you, nothing came out at the same time. It took far too long for the fried pickles to come out. They were VERY salty and extremely crunchy. (Over cooked). A good 15 minutes later came out the oysters for my husband. He liked them - nothing special. My sons rice was next, a good 20 minutes after the pickles. This was probably hands down the best thing they have on the menu! Then came his wings - he said they were good. They were definitely drowning in a hot sauce bath. Next thing to come out was my daughter's chicken strips with fries. She said it was ok. She only ate 1 chicken strip and a few fries. (She wanted the seafood boil!) Then came out the seafood boil. The #3 on the menu. Hubby pulled some crab out for our 8yo daughter to have the first bite. She chewed once and spot it out because her mouth was on fire. This led to tears of it being toooo spicy! Hubby took 2 bites and the same thing. He spit it out because it was too spicy. Extremely disappointed at this point. Then came my sandwich. Something simple, right? Nope, not for this place. Burnt bread - too hard to bite into. The sandwich was dry AF and the meat was over cooked. I had one bite and Hubby took one bite. We were not impressed by anything here. The server came to ask me about the food when I was going up to get our bill and pay. I told him it wasnt great and the seafood was too spicy. He stated he told the cook to not make it spicy since a kid would be eating it. I said "it was fu@!ing covered in seasoning". ((OH we were also sitting outside so the lighting wasnt tooo great)). So then, the cook/owner whatever lady asked me about it and I told her how it was. She said "I can rinse it off in the pot", I told her it was fine, we were done. She basically told me she didnt season it much and its how it is. Well, bish, yoir cooking is trash. And to top it, the other couple in there said and I quote "bro, can we get 2 waters? This is too spicy"....sooooooo shes over seasoning her chit, and over cooking easy stuff. My advice to the cook, maybe you should listen to the customers. We spent almost $130 on food plus $25 tip to the serve. He told me he couldn't do anything other than take the drinks off the bill. (Insert eye roll)... it wasnt about the money or getting anything for free. Its the cook/owner taking accountability and maybe just MAYBE apologize that you did in fact, over season the chit out of the food! Zero stars. Sadly I had to put one star to do this. Will not return or recommend to anyone. Good luck keeping that place open when you dont serve everything onto the menu, over season and have an empty restaurant at dinner time on top of having slow cook times. Also, all the food should go out at the same time.

Got rice with chicken. Rice was undercooked a few minutes. Not enjoyable at all. I had added…read morechicken but not much flavor and offset by hard rice. Nasty, threw most of it away. If I paid three dollars, I wouldn't complain!
