I went to the front desk to explain my dilemma. I asked if I could go get my son quickly and return. I was told that if I did so I would have to get in line behind every person in the now crowded waiting room. I asked if I could return the following morning but was told I'd have to pay an entirely new copay. I asked if I could have my copay refunded since I never received my results and she said that was impossible since they had already taken my vitals. I asked if there was a customer service phone number I could reach out to, to which the young woman at the desk responded "for what?" (with a shrug). I asked if there was anyone in the practice I could appeal to, to which she said (with a smirk) "I'm the general manager on duty." So here I am, $75 and 90 minutes of my life lighter with no idea whether I have strep. I have no idea if this manager might have been able to pull some tiny string to help me out in my situation (though I imagine she could have) but what struck me more was her utter lack of empathy or interest in my problem or willingness to even appear to want to help me troubleshoot. To be sure, as I got more upset and desperate, she almost appeared to enjoy flexing her power in the face of my helplessness. Hooray for good customer service.

I went to see this clinic ahead of a trekking trip in Peru. I had previously received the…read morerecommended vaccines but wasn't sure if I needed the yellow fever vax too. I was able to make a last minute appointment same-day which was truly clutch as other travel docs had nothing available for days. (Shame on me for waiting until the last second!) The building was relatively easy to find and the elevator took me nearly right to the front door of their suite. The waiting room has chairs spaced apart (likely still from COVID precautions) and was appreciated. Check-in was quite easy (a quick form on an iPad and a few questions on paper about the specific visit) though the front desk worker overcharged me. I sat in the waiting room for about 5 min past the scheduled appointment time but was called in right after which was refreshing as I know doctors often get backed up by the end of the day. The doctor himself was absolutely lovely! I mentioned where I was traveling and he was incredibly thorough with questions and determined I didn't need the yellow fever vaccine based on where I was going. He did prescribe a Z-Pak which was incredibly appreciated as I know others who did the same trip recommended it. He also had the front desk employee refund the overcharged amount. Overall I would recommend this place for anyone who needs a travel doctor and will absolutely be back ahead of my next trip!

I visited for a yellow fever vaccine, which involves a subcutaneous injection (administered into the fatty tissue beneath the skin). The injection site seemed a bit unusual (please see the attached picture), and later became inflamed, red, and swollen. I am planning to travel to Africa soon, and the doctor mentioned he would prescribe medication for traveler's diarrhea. However, when I went to the pharmacy, they gave me a prescription for malaria (something we had not discussed) and did not receive the Z-Pak prescription for traveler's diarrhea from the doctor's office. I had to return to the pharmacy the next day since they were closing.

Thorough, caring, always came back to check on them would call me to see how the guest was feeling. I was sick on a weekend and could not see my own Dr. and Dr. Primas had hours to see patients. He spent time with me, reviewed my entire health not just my immediate symptoms, referred me on to another Dr. and followed up with them to see how I was doing. More impressively, I once had a guest that had hit his head and ended up in the hospital for observation. Dr. Primas immediately was on the phone with the guests wife telling her what was going on and followed up with calls to the patient in California and to the guests Dr. in California long after he had left New York. He is a special Doctor.

When I did open the door, I was told "sorry I can't make the doctor go any faster, you are welcome to leave and come back later". Really? First of all, their waiting room is beautiful and welcoming, spacious and calming -- especially given that it's an urgent care! I didn't feel stressed out waiting in it, which hasn't typically been my experience (in medical establishments related to anything urgent), in the past. The warm greeting from the lady at the front desk was delightful; I found out her name, which is Aureliah...kudos for the welcome, Aureliah! I mean, she actually smiled. Big. I hate to say this, but it's actually a big deal to get a genuine smile and an upbeat welcome in a doctor's office these days. So, here for it! : ) I waited a short amount of time, maybe ten to fifteen minutes, while I filled out my online registration form. Then, I was called in and got my vitals taken and some bloodwork done by Josephine/Josefina. Loved her positive energy and can do spirit! Plus, as I told her in person, that lady can draw blood quickly and easily. Thank you, Josephine! It was painless. Brava! Then, Dr. Emily came into the exam room, to complete my physical; she was fantastic, too. I was impressed by her kindness, competence and professionalism.
