I've been coming here about 3 years now. As a musician my finances aren't always as stable as I would like to be. There have been many times where I've had to take out a loan, and I'd been to other shops in the past. They were run down, kinda trashy, and just didn't get great service. I went in to Dock Brothers once, and haven't been to another since. This place is super credible with decades of business, and they have always bent over backwards to help me in my times of need. Tons of tools, lots of guitar and bass selections with plenty of electronics and jewelry as well. This is a hard review to write, as I am basing it off of experiences that happened over 25 years ago. My mom used to be into jewelry, and I used to accompany her on trips to pawn shops. Being an only child means you get to do awesome stuff like that. Now, I'm not talking about the commercialized, chain pawn shops that are in the strip malls of every suburb. I'm talking about the real old school pawn shops, where some crusty old man comes out from the back with his loupe that is 50 years old. You know, the guy who probably sold a .38 to one of Dillinger's crew. Anyway, Dock Bothers was a regular stop on our pawn shop circuit and it still seems like a real pawn shop. I can't tell you whether the prices are good, fair, or bad, but I can assure that this place is as legit as they come. It's funny what memories stick with you into adulthood. I don't remember my eighth birthday party, but I remember strolling Dock Brothers at the same age and wanting one of the security/police badges they had in the case. read more

A Friend turned Me onto this site. i happened to be viewing the different companies that were close to my home. I did read a review about Dock Bros pawnshop. I have been in the city for most of my life. I think I should set the record straight, from my point of view. I have done business with Dock Bros, perhaps more than I'm willing to admit. LOL. Times are hard and sometimes you need a friend to lend you a helping hand. In all HONESTY, I have been to more Pawn Shops than I am, unfortunately, willing to admit. With that being said, I want to talk about the hospitality at Dock Bros.. I have NEVER had a problem, or conflict with them and my items! Im only writing this in defense of the despairingly remarks I happened upon when being introduced to this site. Truth be told, They kept my items LONG past my agreed redemption date. He actually called me weeks after my deadline, and asked if I had forgotten about my items! I really appreciated his compassion, and consideration. Im grateful to Dock Brothers. My sister got robbed, and unfortunately her necklace that I bought her for Christmas was a part of that. I thought to call the pawn shops nearby in attempt to see if the engraved pendant was there. The guy I talked to was completely rude and told me I was doing him a disservice by making the call! He didn't even ask what the necklace looked like and he told me to give up all hope on the matter. I work in jewelry, and I know not to treat people like that. For the time he was giving me grief about it, he could have looked to see if it was there. But he refused to help me at all, instead he insisted on making me feel bad on the matter. I will never, ever do business with them!!! read more

I have been shopping at Dock Brothers for five years. I do a lot of my holiday shopping there because of the great selection and great prices. I have had nothing but good experiences at Dock Brothers. They are not a pawn "Super Store," with lines into the parking lot and three brusque employees to handle it all. Not at all pleased with these services offered or there ability to work with me. The owner and his nephew have lied to me on at least two occasions, wasting my time and gas money coming in to the store. They do not represent themselves accurately and do not hold true to what they say they are going to. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy!!
