Let me start off by saying this is the WORST community that i have ever in my life, lived in. If I could give this zero stars i would. my boyfriend and i moved into one of the units back in June of 2022, my boyfriend completely owns the unit, did $30k worth of renovations on it. when hurricane ian hit us in September of 2022, the entire community was flooded with 4-5ft of water (showed in pictures below) leaving us and everyone else who lived on the bottom floor with NOTHING. One of our neighbors had sent an email to the property manager a day or two before the Hurricane telling them very clearly, that the retention pound needed to be drained at least 40% to avoid the flooding because this has happened before in 2017!!!! Of course they did not do that. The community sent out an email saying they had 90 days to fix everything, which I'm sure you can already assume, that did not happen. They kept sending out emails saying it would be another 3 months, another 3 months, so on and so on. Here we are an entire year later (Sept. 2023) and only the first two buildings are done. Luckily, my boyfriend and I are located in the second building so we are appreciative of that but we did go back and fourth trying to decide if we even wanted to stay here. We were in an apartment for the time being & did decide to move back in. When we first came to look at it after getting the keys back a year later, they did not replace ANY of our appliances (refrigerator, stove, microwave, washer and dryer) which we had prior to the hurricane in 2022. We had replaced all the fans in the rooms and living room, that they also did not think to replace? The even bigger issue here, is that the company who renovated the community took out, apparently, an $18 million loan. So what do they do? Oh! They raise our HOA fees an extra $600-800 a month making it $1200-1500 a month. We just talked to a lady yesterday who just bought the unit next to us & they did not tell her ANY OF THIS. There was a meeting held a couple days ago about possibly recalling the assessment that the neighborhood had 150 signatures for, they denied it of course. Here we are October 2023, and we have yet another issue. They had painters come to repaint the walkway outside of our front doors.... at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Caution tape across our front doors and on the stairways making it impossible to get inside of our homes. I am just in utter shock at how ignorant the decision making is in this community.
