While I want to give Docs Health 5 stars, I can't quite yet...due to the incompetence of the scheduling team and poor communication. First off, I want to note that my doctor (Cooper) and his specific team are absolutely fantastic--they are five stars, no question. It's Docs Health scheduling team/communication, that I take issue with. I set up a surgery back in January, for mid February. Called, confirmed, on the schedule. Had some touch bases and then they sort of...fell off. I had issues getting a hold of anyone in the office. When I FINALLY did...it turns out they had actually never scheduled me. Excuse me? At this point, I had a caretaker scheduled, had put my life on hold, etc. The first resolution was "oh good news, we can get you in by end of month, probably." Uh, no. This is where Dr Cooper actually had to step in--he got me on his books two days after my original surgery was scheduled for. He was extremely apologetic, about the whole situation, as well. When you are physically in front of staff, everything has been absolutely great. My surgery was easy and the medical center is very nice, as is the staff. I have more appointments and surgeries coming up and so far, things have been good-my understanding is that they knew they had issues with the schedulers and have found new ones. The offices themselves are very nice, with snacks and easy valet parking, that is validated for up to an hour. With that being said--there could also be improvement on their app. Reaching out via it is absolutely terrible. I work in HCIT and with the level of care that Dr. Snibbe claims to have at Docs Health....the app is pretty useless. If scheduling and app communication gets it together, I'd be willing to bump this up. Separate review coming for Dr Cooper, because, as I said he and his team deserve their own 5 stars. read more

This "hospital" ruined my life, my ankle and foot, and left me with intense ptsd. I was operated on by Dr. Wang. Unbeknownst to me he has/had a number of malpractice cases open against him. But leaving him aside... I was supposed to have early morning, two-or-three hour surgery at DOCS-ORTHO on September 30, 2022. I don't remember anything after about 11 am. I woke up at 6:30pm. To this day I don't have a lot of answers about what happened to me, and the hospital admitted the surgeon's conduct was "unusual," but they continue to employ him, so they bear responsibility on that front. There was blatant homophobia from the point when we arrived. Straight partners were allowed to go back with patients but my partner was not until I begged and a nurse took pity on me and brought her back until I was put under, at which point she was not allowed to see or speak to me until I was unceremoniously dumped out the door, still half-under, at 6:30. But that was not the worst part. As Dr. Wang later admitted to me in a series of harassing texts, I was left on the operating table without a surgeon or anesthesiologist for hours while both went to do another surgery. They blamed an equipment failure, but even if that's true (and I was never provided with firm proof that it was,) I was left sedated to the point that I have no idea what happened to me in that time or whether anyone is telling the truth. The entire time, my wife was asking to see me, and the staff at DOCS-ORTHO lied to her about what was happening, telling her at various points that I was awake and talking, in surgery, and/or just inaccessible. Beyond calling the police there was nothing she could do to convince them to let her see me. The front desk staff all went home and she was left alone with a security guard. This is apparently the kind of information relatives can expect from this hospital. When I did wake up I was in pain. Thus began five months of horror as I was in the worst pain imaginable, unable to work, walk, or function. Wang told me I must have complex regional pain syndrome and that it was in my head. We bankrupted ourselves on experimental treatments. We later found that in fact, I had a large neuroma in my foot from his inept technique and likely wholly unnecessary surgery. In the course of that discussion, Dr. Wang got aggressive in texts where he admitted to leaving me. When we expressed horror he sent text after text saying that the decision was made "by the whole surgical team." He said he would pray for me, which was pretty offensive in light of his conduct. When we called the hospital after that, there was really no one to talk to. We obtained the records and found that times and dates had been crossed out by hand, so I still don't even know when I did and didn't receive any drugs. I didn't want to talk to a surgeon who thought it was fine to leave sedated patients unattended. The anesthesiologist was, I was told, suddenly "on vacation." The head of this hospital, Dr. Khawar Siddique, admitted on the phone that there were some flaws in Wang and the anesthesiologist's behavior but offered few remedies or even apologies. The head nurse said that Dr. Wang told her there was an older patient who hadn't eaten, which was why they left me alone. I can't imagine that any patient in Los Angeles would find that justification for hours upon hours of time lost. Thankfully a peripheral nerve specialist was able to correct the botched surgery, months later, but I'll never feel that part of my foot again and continue to have life long issues. The trauma and the total lack of compassion and concern from all involved is telling. I would never have chosen this "private hospital with personal chef" where a Kardashian had surgery if I knew it was an unethical facility that condones medical battery. To add insult to real, concrete injury, also continue to bill me over the estimate and amount I was quoted and payed before surgery. Whenever I try to explain this to the billing department they express surprise; there are clearly no notes on my file explaining what happened to me, even though we have lengthy email correspondence proving that the heads of this hospital know about it. To this day they have done nothing to right these wrongs. I say all this reserving all rights. Please be judicious in choosing a surgeon and facility. I do not want this to happen to anyone else. Of course you're going to get amazing service while in Beverly Hills. I don't know why I bother with other subpar places when it comes to my health. I started seeing Dr Nini to help a long time, chronic back problem that work comp doctors couldn't get authorization to fix. And boy am I glad I found this place. First, THEY VALIDATE PARKING! The building is clean and well maintained. The security guard has been friendly every time I've walked in. And the moment you walk in to the large, open office you are treated with kindness and respect. The staff is attentive and friendly. I've never waited for more than 5 minutes for an appt. They have complimentary coffee, water and snack mixes while you wait (although I'm always bringing with me into the exam room, because I never have had to wait). Doctors are prompt. Scheduling and follow-up is timely and friendly. I mean, what an amazing place! read more

I hate having to leave a semi-negative review but my experience was not ideal. This comment relates to the office staff NOT the surgeons or other providers there. I flew in to LA from another state to see a specific surgeon. A surgical procedure was recommended to me. It would take place in 2 different surgeries with the 1 st requiring me to stay in LA for close to 2 weeks. I received authorization for the procedure from my insurance and the 1st trial was scheduled for about 6 weeks out. Reservations were made for the trip. 7 days prior to the procedure I was given a call that my responsibility for the trial was over $17,000!!!! What was never relayed to me was the MD and facility were OUT OF NETWORK!!!! The surgeon I saw was in network then the pain doctor that I was sent to in the same practice was out of network. And since I can't pay over $17,000 everything is cancelled now. I now have to start from the beginning and it will be months before this procedure can occur. It was known by DOCS that they were out of network weeks before I was notified. Their delay in notifying me of this set my progress back weeks/months. I was preparing for a long trip to LA and making all the arrangements. This whole debacle could have been avoided. Simple as that. read more

I went in to visit a Dr today yesterday for my back and I really appreciated how quick and easy the entire process was at this clinic. They had prepared me to complete the paperwork Before my appointment and that saved me 20 min if paperwork during my appointment. The staff was very friendly and welcoming as well as my meeting with the Dr. I still have some additional testing to do before I will know my outcome with this clinic but I really liked the overall structure for this clinic. read more

I'm bummed that this was my experience, but here it is - I had surgery with Dr. Albert Wong, which went well. However, there is much to be desired at this facility. It's clean but that's about it. There is no water, no coffee, no vending machines, nothing for people in the waiting room. My parents waited for me and no one came to give them updates. My surgery took longer than expected and they were just sitting there waiting for someone to explain something, but nothing. They kept asking for updates but were given very generic responses. Dr. Wong was very good at answering my questions before surgery and explaining exactly what he was going to do, which I so appreciated. The after care is what I have a problem with. I had questions a few days after my surgery and sent them via email to the receptionist. She said she forwarded them to Dr. Wong but I never heard back. I also emailed and said I was having more pain and needed another appointment and the lady said he was at a conference and she would see when I could come in..but I never heard back from her! I went and got a new surgeon because I need someone who will answer me! It's really a shame. read more

My attorney's office set me up with a referral to this office for lingering injuries/pain from an accident. It seems the doctors here are overworked/over-scheduled as they rush from one exam room to the next. My first interaction with Dr. Lee was that he was incredibly busy and unable to extend a lot of time or attention for the background information leading to my visit. The second appointment was better though (hence the bump up to 4 stars). He remembered me and administered treatments (TPI-- trigger point injection) swiftly. Dr. Roy Nini a as of his amazing staff, all the nurses and medical assistants always make me feel incredibly comfortable and at ease before and after my procedures. Dr. Nomoto is an excellent physician. I highly recommend him to anyone who may be considering spine surgery. Prior to finding Dr. Nomoto, my grandma had consultations with a few surgeons and was told that she needed surgery urgently, and if not treated she would become paralyzed. As someone who is reluctant to even take pain medications, my grandma was scared and pressured. Her first consultation with Dr. Nomoto slowed down the storm of fear. He was patient, understanding, and explained all of her options in such a way that even my grandma, who is not fluent in English, was able to understand. He listened to all her concerns and took the time to answer all her questions. My grandma's surgery took place at Cedars-Sinai and was a success. She was treated very well during her recovery and was able to start walking less than a day after the surgery! Dr. Nomoto and Dr. Yang visited every day while she was in the hospital, and they spent time to talk to her and family about how she was feeling and what to expect. read more

After 4 years of chronic pain and a peculiar MRI Dr Albert Wong was the only empathetic neurosurgeon to give me his time and knowledge to chase an answer and a solution. He performed surgery taking every precaution and scenario to get the best outcome. One month post surgery and I've experienced a vast improvement. Don't be fooled by the reviews. They care before they schedule you for surgery and get their money. After that, you're on your own! Don't be fooled by the name either, expecting to be treated like a celebrity. If you're a rich and pampered celebrity like one of the surgeon's wives, I'm sure you'll be treated better. Their name (when they are in Los Angeles), their radiology (Mink Radiology) might give you an idea of what's important to them, and what kind of clientele they value.. and it's not the working class. Had surgery 12/2017 - MICRODISCECTOMY (or so I thought). I am worse off now than ever. Trying to reach surgeon was like Dorothy trying to see the Great OZ. While nice, my surgeon's assistant is non-medical. Assistant relays your messages to surgeon then gets back to you. They will charge you a huge facility fee that the insurance company does not cover. Their biller in Carlsbad will harass you even when you've paid and they took the money from my State Disability card. Surgeon recommended a simple surgery to remove part of a bulging disc that was compressing the nerve (MICRODISCECTOMY). I was not informed of possible complications, or the other procedures he did without my consent or even informing me afterwards. When you press zero, you might get to a receptionist, but it's always "leave a message" or send email to surgeon's non-medical assistant. My surgeon was not available for my post-op appointment. The waiting room was PACKED with people being herded like cattle. People who were not feeling well after surgery, so I was not the only one, no matter how this place brags of their successes. Surgeon #2 spent about 5 minutes with me, took me completely off my pain medication (which is dangerous, given that I've taken it regularly for over a year), and even though I was still in an excruciating amount of pain. Surgeon #2 said that they don't prescribe meds post op appointment. He said if there are problems, they release the patient and refer the patient to a pain doctor. I sat in the lobby begging for pain relief. I had a ride for this appointment. Beverly Hills Spine Surgery called TWO TIMES to reschedule same day later time! My ride could not wait after 2nd call. With no ride, I ended up driving myself and needing to pull over several times. In January, my son got through and got me an appointment with surgeon. He ordered an X-ray, which I did in advance of appointment. The x-ray place sent surgeon the results, but they said they didn't have them. Did another while Mink Radiology charged for X-ray that was already done. The MRI was just before the appointment. No radiology report. Surgeon who operated on me didn't know who I was, confused me with different patient. He said I just had some swelling and prescribed steroid. I kept emailing his assistant about the radiology report. Finally, she scanned the report and emailed it to me to decipher. I now had marked degeneration of the facet joint, tissue blocking nerve opening, tissue around the nerve. After continuing to bother his assistant, she relayed from surgeon to increase the steroid dosage. All the leg pain, numbness, increased leg pain, back pain, mobility, all came back, but MUCH WORSE. Told I would have to find a pain doctor because "patients are off all meds by now." That was back in February - March. I called around the list my insurance gave me and found one available for April, a month away. Beverly Hills Spine Surgery said they can have me seen sooner by one of their pain doctors. I was seen by doctor I did not have appointment with. All he did was try to force steroid injections. These costly injections are not FDA approved, they are their cash cow. They can also further deteriorate degenerating bones. I never had adequate pain control since surgery. Per him, the January MRI shows "so much swelling" necessitating 8 steroid injections, but out of spite he would not help because I refused 8 injections. He threw me a handful of meds and said they wouldn't help, and that I will need to agree to steroid shots. He's not even a certified pain specialist. I had to take a drug test (as did others). We had to walk the specimen container out into the lobby, into the public bathroom, walk to specimen back into lobby with other patients watching. It was humiliating, and a violation of patient privacy. Reputable doctors say 2 injections per year. He wanted to do FOUR, then 4 MORE a month later. That was the last I've heard from Beverly Hills Spine Surgery. I have permanent damage. What was on the January MRI and ignored turned into scar tissue FROM MULTIPLE SURGICAL PROCEDURES. My symptoms should NOT have been ignored! New MRI elsewhere also shows I had TWO MORE PROCEDURES I WAS NOT TOLD ABOUT AND DID NOT CONSENT TO! I DID NOT CONSENT TO LAMINECTOMY AND FACETECTOMY TOO! read more

I saw Dr Wong at Beverly Hills Spine Surgery and the service and care was outstanding. I never had to wait more than 10-15 minutes to see the Dr and then he was usually in the exam room within a few minutes also. Dr Wong spent as much time as needed both for the exam as well as explaining what he had found and the different options available, both surgery and non surgery. The first visit was 45-50 minutes long just going over options. I did elect to have surgery in Aug of 2018 as it was the best choice for me both in my career and personal life. Pre and post care have been outstanding with Dr Wong and the staff. I am three months out from surgery and all signs point to my recovery and I believe that this is due to Dr Wong. My profession unfortunately has a high degree of spinal injuries and I will have no problem giving Dr Wongs name out to those in need. read more

My husband saw Dr. Roy Nini back in December last year, and can I just say what a stellar orthopod he is! Not only is he not pushy for patients to engage in invssive procedures, but he is exceptionally approachable, amicable and has a lot of patience answering any concerns. He recommended my husband to a fantastic physical therapist who has, essentially, cured his back problem for good. Dr Nini has several locations under different names! They are not affiliated to Cedars I saw him first time in Encino,. Unaware it he had no ties to Cedars in that office. After my mri he scheduled a procedure but neglected to say what the procedure was. His office would not tell me and would not allow me to speak to the Dr. Dr Nini does not take phone calls and would not explain the mri results! I will see another spine Dr. Yvonne at Ext 101 was extremely rude! I do not recommend him, his staff or his assoc Dr Lee. read more

Dr. Roy Nini and his staff need to learn time management. On two out of three of my appointments he has had waiting times of over 30mins. I was in excruciating pain when I first walked in the door after being referred to him by Cedars ER and he was far from helpful. After the mri he saw that I had a small non displaced fracture in my back and told me to take Tylenol. Very unhelpful. His associate Dr. Lee was much better and took the time to explain what was going on, how long recovery would be, and what to do to keep the pin to a minimum. Dr. Nini is my favorite person. 20 years of spine issues starting with scoliosis & he's the first doctor to help me. I've gotten so much of my life back, I wish I'd found him sooner! He also has a great personality but that's not a requirement for me, just a bonus. When I got nervous before anesthesia once he made me laugh & that's the last thing I remember. His anesthesia guy is really cool & friendly, too. I have DDD & about 10-12 damaged discs, I'm not the easiest patient to help but he exceeds any & all expectations. read more

Dr. Siddique is an amazing spinal surgeon. You can't get much better than Dr. Siddique. He is so caring and amazingly talented and gifted as a surgeon. I thank God for him often. I had known Dr. Siddique about 3 years before he operated on me. He had taken care of my mother and was so kind and wonderful. He was very upfront with us from the start that he did not feel he could operate on her and make her condition any better. We appreciated his honesty and integrity. In 2007 I was involved in a very bad mva and was experiencing neck and back pain along with some headaches. He was extremely conservative in his approach, never mentioning surgery until my pain began to radiate down my arms and cause numbness and tingling in my fingers. I was also getting weaker in my hands. He told me that it was time to operate because my condition was getting worse, definitely not better. He told me surgery to replace the cervical disc was no longer elective, but absolutely necessary to stop the damage the disc was causing to my spinal cord. I elected to not have the fusion type surgery instead having a titanium disc inserted where my damaged disc was removed. When I woke up from surgery I could almost immediately tell that the horrific pain I had been living with was much better. I continued to improve and I can definitely say it was a total success. This office is wonderful and you won't find any better surgeon elsewhere. read more

I don't even know where to begin. Today is Christmas Eve 2014 and I am hanging and feeling great after my neck surgery that took place 5 days ago. Dr. Siddique - I write this directly to you... I am so grateful for you. Beside being the most talented surgeon - you are kind, human, available and all around comforting. I was referred to Dr. Siddique by two co- workers that had the same surgery I did. I had a synthetic disc inserted into my C5 & C6 of my neck. I was experiencing horrible pain - tingling down my left arm, occasional tingling down my left leg. The quality of my life was totally affected by this both physically and mentally. From the moment I met Dr. Siddique I felt comfortable with him. He suggested at first I try PT, get epidural injections and only then if those didn't work that surgery was the next step. The fact that he didn't rush right into surgery made me feel even more confident that he was a good person. His office staff rocks. Amanda Barrett and Erika Cartegena are so lovely, responsive, supportive, and accessible to the many questions I constantly had. Dr. Siddique was our worst nightmare. My husband was completely misdiagnosed by Dr Siddique. After just one look at an MRI, he was sure that my husband's symptoms were caused by a herniated disc. He insisted that if he didn't get surgery, he would soon become paralyzed. PARALYZED!!! We were completely freaked out, but we got a 2nd opinion, and thank god we did. The other neurosurgeon couldn't make a diagnosis, but was sure that the symptoms were caused by something way more complicated than a herniated disc. Long story short, months later, we finally got the right diagnosis from the Mayo Clinic and had surgery there, and it indeed had nothing to do with the herniated disc. If we had listened to Dr Siddique, my husband would have had that surgery just to realize months later that it didn't work, and then who knows what. He was lucky to be spared the horror of having multiple unnecessary surgeries and fused vertebrae. I'm guessing Dr Siddique is a skilled surgeon, but he was totally careless in his diagnosis and seemed like he would say just about anything to get us on the operating table without any regard to our pain and suffering. I was quite early so I took a book to kill time. Just as I sat down in the waiting area, cracked my book, and I heard my name been called. This was my third visit to Dr. Roy Nini. First was a consultation. He listens and I mean really showed a compassionate and understanding sense regarding my ails. (Most Doctors give you 15 minutes and a prescription. Believe me I know). Then he gave me options and explained which would be best in my situation. They were booked up and my appointment would have been in 3 weeks. Within 4 days his office called and said Dr. Nini has an early morning opening for my epidural. Without hesitation I took the appointment! Today 1 week later, I'm a new person! Thanks to Dr. Roy Nini. A can sleep without been awakened by chronic pain. The guy sure knows PAIN MGMT. Doctor Roy Nini is "above reproach in his field", if ratings were 10he'd get that from me! Dr. Perri is a DO -- and I feel like I was rushed into the idea of spinal surgery in a short consultation -- and then I got an MRI and a second and third opinion (Cedars and UCLA) -- both from medical doctors -- and they both said absolutely not. Dr. Perri's bill was $700 and I was stuck with $495. The whole thing was a pretty stressful experience. read more

I have not seen Dr. SIddique. I saw Dr. Perri before he went into practice with Dr. S. I saw Dr. Perri, in hopes of finding a spine surgeon in the remote case I came down with the dreaded cauda equina syndrome; also, to review my record and determine if I am a surgical candidate or not. Dr. Perri entered my room where I had my MRIs plus readouts (discograms, etc. - all that stuff spine patients live by/must carry for "opinions". He read my history, seemed to get a nasty snarl on his face and said "I cannot see you! You are too high of a dose of pain medications" - as though this were *my* fault. He did not determine the structural basis of my spine, if I am a candidate for successful surgery - mechanical, and I felt belittled, humiliated, and like a "druggie" - when in fact, I need strong meds to get by the day and be a productive member of society. I have never been treated so rudely by a doctor in my life. I was aghast, and to make things worse, he had the audacity to bill me for an expensive consultation, when in fact, I spent two minutes with him - for after he chided me, I was ushered promptly out of the office. I think that it is important to have an excellent mechanic as a spine patient; however, some bedside manner helps too in terms of trust (for surgery is always a crap-shoot), and more. In this regard, Dr. Perri fell off the table and did not remotely pass the "human being" test. Avoid, if possible. Dr. Siddique is one of the best spine specialists in Beverly Hills/Los Angeles; therefore, one of the best in the country I would say. I saw Dr. Siddique for what turned out to be a Degenerative Disc (Cervical). He was able to diagnose the problem very quickly based on my pain, numbness, motion tests and x-rays--which his office can do on-site with immediate feedback. I needed to have Artificial Disk Replacement surgery which we felt was a better option than a Fusion surgery. The surgery went perfectly and the recovery has been smooth sailing all the way. Dr. Siddique is very straightforward, direct and excellent at explaining things. He is very business-like with a just-the-facts type of seriousness. His expertise is amazing, and he is highly in demand. So I can understand that he needs to get to the point and be straightforward with the patient about what the situation is. One more thing, his staff is very well organized and helpful. There are several nurses, staff members and coordinators on hand to handle all the administrative steps of your visit and any future appointments and treatment that become part of your program. Dr. Siddique is wonderful. My husband has had numerous surgical procedures: cervical spine fusion from C-3 to T-1 in 2011, left and right hand carpel tunnel repair in March and May, 2013 respectively and lumbar decompression on L-4/5 and S-1 yesterday 12/19/2013. My husband is being discharged today and is doing great. Would trust no other doctor with spine. Wonderful bedside manner as well as caring and compassionate.
