I was running errands around lunchtime and, feeling peckish, I thought about something to eat. Now I had many more errands, so road food was the order of the day. But how many burgers can you eat? There are even some pretty good independent burger joints, but sometimes, you just want a sandwich. Now, for context, our progeny ate a school lunch maybe a half dozen times, total, throughout their school years. Most of the time, I made lunch, and the centerpiece was the sandwich. Carefully selected meats, fresh veggies, a wide variety of sauces (they can't even eat a roast beef sandwich to this day without a bit of horseradish in there somewhere) were combined with excellent bread. That is what I wanted. That is what I got. The bread choices are white or brown, but that's because the emphasis is on the interiors. The Italiano, with pastrami, salami, and pepperoni, is a classic combination, with provolone, pepperoncini, and "all the fixins" (In response to whether or not I wanted "everything" I replied "Fuck me up, sandwich sensei!") because I firmly believe in allowing the restaurant to present you with their wares, and let you decide if you like them. My mom has been a patron here and has purchased plenty of pizza. The FIRST time she was sold pizza with bad dough, she didn't ask for a refund. My family tried to eat the pizza thinking that there was no way the workers knowingly sold them a bad pizza. The second time this happened, though, she went back and told the workers that the dough was bad. The first person there just told her to get a refund. The person my mom had to get the refund from tried to play it off as if it were fine, until my mom told them to smell the dough. They refunded her her $19. Now today my mom decided she would give them their third chance. I personally wouldn't have. She went into this place ready to spend $50+ on their pizza - but she was immediately refused service for "causing problems" in the past and "causing them to lose money" by returning the last bad pizza. This was told to her (rudely, might I add) by both the employees as well as the manager after she requested to speak to her in order to understand why. My mom was BAFFLED that they would refuse to take her $50+ after "losing them" their $19 last time, even though she was still trying to support their local business when they didn't deserve it. Long story short - don't do business here unless you're willing to give them your money and shut up when they give you expired and bad food. I know I won't be frequenting this business and I'll make sure everyone I know knows how they treat their customers. My mom was correctly told by the manager that they have the right to refuse business to everyone - just as everyone else has a right to know that they're being sold and fed bad food.
