We stopped in after a Dr appointment and my daughter got a vegetarian wrap while I got a sandwich called "the daily bread" which consisted of a sandwich with 2 different meats and plenty of veggies. They even had a thin layer of avocado! I also got some apple butter as I hadn't had any this year and wanted some. I'm excited to try it! This place is adorably quaint and offers a wee bit of shopping after you order. I ordered or TBA panini and a small side salad and I was quite impressed with the panini. It was well made and relatively flavorful. Staff were standoffish when we walked in and seemed rather annoyed by our presence but who knows why. I didn't let it stop me from asking a question or two for clarification. Their pricing was a bit steep but nonetheless, it was still pretty good. My travel company didn't seem to like this place as much as I did. They reported the food was underwhelming. read more

I was at a hotel in Spokane, Washington traveling to Seattle when a lady told me that I must stop at this bakery/restaurant. It is one and a half miles off of I 90. When you enter the restaurant, to the right are about six tables where you can eat your lunch. You walk up to the counter and order your food. To the right of that you will see a small glass case that holds three or four bakery items. Around the corner, they sell fresh cut deli meat. Off to the left of the store you will see a Mercantile where you can buy everything from oats and spices to candy. We ordered the turkey apricot Panini. It comes with your choice of sweet brown bread, white bread or wheat. The sandwich had turkey, cheese, arugula, and red onion with an apricot spread. It was then put into a Panini press and grilled. The sandwich tasted fine. It just did not have much substance. On the sandwich was only one and a half pieces of deli meat. Very disappointed from all of the photos I saw online. It also comes by itself. There are no sides or drinks included. I thought it was way overpriced for a sandwich that did not include chips or a drink. I did order a bottle of iced tea, as they have no fountain drink there, and a bag of chips. Additionally, I ordered one of the birthday cake cookies. The cookie was a vanilla sugar cookie. The cookie was very soft with confetti like coloring. The icing on top was fine, but did not taste like buttercream but more like an oily frosting. I did like the cookie nonetheless. Have stopped here a couple of times to grab a quick sandwich but today was kinda awesome. We had a long drive ahead of us and my wife and I wanted something fresh and healthy for brunch. My wife got the veggie sandwich which is always really fantastic. I asked Olivia who would be making our sandwiches today to go ahead and make whatever she enjoys most and felt like whipping up, wanting to leave it to her creativity since I wasn't sure what I wanted today. She ended up making such an absolutely outstanding sandwich which was just a perfect balance of veggies, deli meat, the heavenly garlic herb sauce and a slice of cheese to round it all off. The freshness of the ingredients, the slight textural contrast from the sprouts and peppers and the richness from the spread all packed into a very filling yet refreshing sandwich just hit the spot. Excellent food, extremely kind and friendly staff, very clean and well worth the slightly steep prices for the sandwiches. We will definitely be stopping here again when we're in the area. p.s. We were passing thru Ellensburg heading to Walla Walla and decided to try this shop based on the reviews. It was clean, quiet and staff were friendly. We shared a turkey sandwich on Cheesy bread and the sausage chowder. Both the sandwich and soup were fresh and delicious. I spent $118 on a dozen dinner rolls, one chocolate pie, and the saddest joke of a charcuterie tray I've ever seen in my life . The pie was so so, the dinner rolls were basically pillsbury, but the meat and cheese charcuterie tray was absolutely ridiculous . It was basically just a bunch of store bought pre sliced cheese cut up into triangles . And pre packaged lunch meat rolled up in piles with a few Kalamata olives sprinkled over the top . The cheese selection was laughable . Kroger cheddar jack and a gross pre packaged dill seasoned white cheese . I could've done better myself for under 30$ . Perfect pit stop in Ellensburg that has not only tasty sandwiches, but also customer service that is on POINT (they mailed me a jacket I left behind)! When it comes to food, I really enjoy building my own anything. I appreciate the option to create your own sandwich here. My creation was a turkey sandwich with jack cheese, adding avocado, and applying two spreads. Just when you can't decide... you don't have to! I was happy to have both the garlic herb and basil pesto, one on each slice of bread. Brilliant. The resulting sandwich was huge and filling, and most importantly: delicious! I have to especially commend the customer service. I left my jacket here due to food coma (thank you big sandwich!) but they mailed it all the way from Washington to California. Of course I reimbursed them for the postage fees. But I didn't expect to receive it so quickly. Thank you again to Diana and the rest of the awesome staff for being so helpful and accommodating. PRO TIP: When making a pit stop (especially when out of state), remember to check that you have all your belongings. Oops!
